The party started at 1:00pm and at 1:20 the store associate assigned to help us was still opening up the crafts. None of the supplies were cut or ready for the kids to craft with and kids were sitting with nothing to do for quite some time. She was very unprepared for our event. The associate did not introduce herself or give ANY direction to the kids as to how to make the crafts (super hero cape and shield) and so the parents who stayed were helping all the kids. The most disappointing part was that I paid an EXTRA $25 for face painting. The associate showed up to the party room with the paints at 2:55 (the party was ending at 3). Some of our party guests had to leave without even getting their face painted. I called the next day and spoke with a manager who apologized but did not follow up with me at all nor did she offer to refund the charge for the face painting. Michaels is a great craft store but choose somewhere else for your child's birthday party!

They have a great array of stationeries (my favorite) available for a slightly higher price but still reasonable considering the high quality and service. On my most recent visit, I was interested in two sets of watercolors and was glad I asked an associate about their prices...because one was around $10 and the other $45. Same thing with a cool set of dual markers/pens I almost bought...I had not looked at the price correctly and the associate pointed it was $161. She kindly found another set for me for less than $10 (which was all I needed). Art things are expensive in general but you can definitely find some good deals here, especially during their sales. The staff here are all very cheerful, helpful and friendly...my favorite store in Iowa City whenever I visit the area.

When we got there, we realized that we needed some adjustments in the original program we had brought to them. Their customer service was amazing. They worked with us until they figured out a way to print our program. The finished product was beautiful, perfect! And not only that it was 1/3 the price that was quoted to us earlier in the day at a big box type of printing store. We could not have been happier or more thankful that we came to Evergreen!! They have excellent service and professional products.

I bought in a print to frame last week and was told the frame I picked would be there in 2 days. I…read morego to pick it up today & no frame & of course it's not done then! It was supposed to be a surprise for my husband for our 10th anniversary. I am so disappointed in this place, didn't even call to tell me it wouldn't be done when promised! I was going to have something else framed for his birthday, but this place has lost a customer. So they fixed the mistake, I got a metal frame put on for now & when the wood one comes in I don't have to pay anymore. Essentially I'm getting the wood frame at half price. It remains to be seen if I use them for my next order.
