Jobe did a great job. From the front office and management to the skilled workers who did our hardscape in Milton DE; it was a 10 job. I would recommend them %100 without question. I plan on using them for a local irrigation system for my lawn, very nice, good people on top of that. read more

Expect your phone calls to be returned? Need more than a day's notice before your project begins? Expect to be treated respectfully? Then Jobe's is NOT the landscaping company for you. Joy was the person I worked with. If you have questions she will be condescending; apparently my landscaping budget wasn't much to her because she threw that in my face. I realized I had forgotten to add landscaping fabric until mulch was ready to go down. My husband was 15 minutes from bringing it but Joy said no! She had the crew dump the mulch and off they went. Joy said they had another job to go to but I had already learned my job was their last. She had lied to me. She ruined the feeling of accomplishment I expected to feel since we'd saved and planned for months. I don't recommend Jobe's at all! read more

Terrible customer service. Be careful, once they get their payment of half down you'll have a hell of a time getting them back to complete the job in a timely manner. They just don't reply. We drove from our home in PA (3.5 hours) to meet with Joy - she never showed up for our appointment at our home under construction in Rehoboth. We stood outside for 1.5 hours - I called her office twice and was told she was on her way. We were finally too cold and realized she wasn't ever going to show up for the meeting SHE set up. I called her office to let them know we were leaving - and Joy never responded whatsoever. No text (she had my number!), no email, no apology. Glad we hadn't given them any money!! But still very frustrating and a complete waste of our time - we took off work to drive down and meet her!!! read more

Awful service! The company came out and did a survey for our landscape request. In order to provide us with a design plan, they charged us closed to $600. We made a mistake and paid the company. This survey took place in October of 2020 and as of today, we haven't received any plan. We kept receiving the excuse that one of the owners or worker has COVID and therefor the delay and they will send the plan after New Year's holiday. We sympathized with the situation and said no problem. It's now end of February and still no plan. We left numerous voicemails and sent email and when they finally responded and made the excuse that they left a voicemail and did not hear back from us - needless to say we never received any call. Terrible customer service!!!!! I will start by saying I usually only do reviews if they are good. I enjoying sharing good experiences and referring good people. Assuming most people do because if it is a bad experience they don't want to waste their time re-telling it and having to deal with backlash. Websites are good at getting people to share their "good" experiences. Leaving many companies "grades" a bit over inflated. End of Aug 2018 I contracted and paid a design fee to Jobe to do a landscape design for my entire lawn. (it is a small area). He did a beautiful design, we changed a few things and paired it down for cost purposes. We also discussed breaking it down into 2 parts because it was the fall and I wasn't going to be around to take care of any plantings. It worked for him because he could to the hardscape over the winter when things were typically slow. They did not get to it until mid March. Per our (Jobe and myself) conversations, the plantings would be done in the spring. But, it was spring and there were issues /delays with the sprinklers, the fencing getting ordered and put in. I assumed we would move forward once these items were completed. At that point, Jobe was not around. There was little if any communication. A new person came aboard. I never dealt with Jobe again. Then enters Joy (one of the owners). People who had no knowledge of what Jobe and I had discussed, were sending me new proposals with different plants, charging me for things that were already completed and increasing the costs every time a proposal was "fixed". It was so bad that I had go through the proposal Jobe and I had worked on and itemize it with pictures. Even with a detailed list/pictures of what I wanted, Joy(owner) insisted her proposal was right. She did not listen to a thing her customer was saying! It was only her way. She was very condescending from the moment she surfaced, wouldn't admit she/company made a mistake, got nasty if you changed the proposal plan in anyway and truly acted like I was putting her out asking when I could expect work to be completed. I had spent a lot of money with more contracted on the way. The cost of this project was pushing $50k and I had also signed up for a maintenance contract. Jobe's Landscaping has not proven to be customer oriented at all. I decided not to finish with them. I am waiting for my money back for the second phase. side note: I have 4 dead trees waiting to be replaced from first phase. Originally, 8/14. Sent an email on 8/14 (we were having guests) and she said they were canceling because the trees were not in. But, in the next email said they couldn't put off replacing them off until spring because they were there at their shop. We will see. Jobe is talented and good to work with but I did not have the follow through and things fell through the cracks. read more

Jobe's was very responsive, showed up on time and completed the job on time. I have found that to be a shortcoming with contractors. One of the key parameters is not only what I just mentioned but how they FINISH the job. Our neighbors had a similar patio installed and the contractor left the dirt in a corner and didn't seed or put turf down. Clean up was A +. I found that they knew the materials and stayed on budget. No surprises, just a nice patio! read more

Jobe did my initial landscaping a few years ago. I have been more than pleased with their design and services. They come to my home every year in the Spring and late Fall for mulching and pruning. Jobe's Landscape Company is dangerous and should have their license removed. Why? When installing a sprinkler system next door, Jobe's cut my underground electric cable with their backhoe, did not immediately stop work, did not immediately call Miss Utility, and most importantly covered up my damaged 200 amp service with dirt...all CODE VIOLATIONS. This created an underground fire that eventually burned up 10 feet of my electric cable and destroyed the transformer that services 3 of us here on the ocean block in Rehoboth Beach. The Delmarva Power Linemen said it was the worst damage that they had ever seen and we were lucky that our house didn't catch on fire and that no one was electrocuted. When our underground service burned through and the power went out to our house, 200 amps of electricity was flowing through the ground next to our house. If anyone stepped on that wet ground they could have been electrocuted! Fortunately, I was home and discovered the underground fire before it burned down our house. Many of us Rehoboth Beach residents are only here during the summer months, but if this happened when I wasn't here, chances are it would not have been discovered in time for the fire to reach the house. Also, if it happened at night when we were asleep, we could have been burned up in the house. Wendy Stack, President of the Delmarva Safety Commission and Board Member of Miss Utility of Delmarva has contacted Jobe's Landscaping to review all the above mentioned code violations and to inform them that Jobe's was now on the Miss Utility Watch List. Jobe's was also informed that a formal complaint has been filed with the Public Safety Commission (PSC) who is the Regulatory Agency with the power to impose a $2,000.00 fine and remove their license. A second violation will immediately remove their license. And, you don't want to be that second violation! Jobe's was clearly reminded by Wendy Stack of the dangerous situation that they created, and that Delmarva Power would make them financially responsible for all the labor, equipment and materials necessary to fix the damages caused by their INCOMPETENT GROSS NEGLIGENCE. Furthermore, the sprinkler system they "installed" next door doesn't even work. So, now you have a choice. You can choose a competent Landscape Company in Sussex County that won't burn your house down or electrocute you, or you can choose Jobe's Landscaping...Your Choice! read more

Patio came out well but seed did not take and dirt washes onto patio every time it rains. Had them come out to inspect but they said it was my responsibility. So much for the promised lifetime warranty. Would not recommend. read more

My husband and I recently retired in Lewes, DE buying a home that was perfect for us on the inside but the exterior left much to be desired. The home hadn't been lived in for 2 years and the overgrowth, weedy exterior made us initially overlook the home. We knew we'd need to have professional landscaping. I spoke with neighbors and received glowing review for Jobe's. Initially, we had them clear out the dead, overgrown mess. That alone made a difference. Then, they presented us with a landscaping plan which was printed in color showing our home and their suggest planting. We made minor changes. Several weeks later we had a beautiful, not overplanted landscape we are so proud of. Neighbors express how lovely it is. I think we have the most beautiful yard on our street. They were professional, answered questions, even showed me how to use our irrigation system. And they follow up by phone to see how the plants are doing. If there is a problem, I know they'll be right out. I am not a gardener and having Jobe's to work with, I don't need to be. I highly recommend them. read more
