On March 25, 2026, I contacted five dental offices in Cottonwood, Arizona (including this one) in…read morean attempt to schedule a needed cleaning. Every one shamefully denied me treatment. Each one sought to potentially injure me by demanding a series of dangerous and unnecessary dental x-rays. They falsely asserted that they routinely need the series every three years before they can conduct a simple cleaning. They asserted that this is mandated by the American Dental Association (ADA). First, there is no 3-year rule or policy. The dentists fabricated that. Second, the ADA's new 2026 guidance reads the OPPOSITE. The ADA mimics the Arizona Administrative Code R12-1-407 which considers dental x-rays to be dangerous (i.e., there is no safe level of ionizing radiation). Both mandate that dental x-rays only be ordered where medically necessary, and not routinely. I then contacted the Arizona Dental Association and they wrote back concurring that these dentists were operating illegally and dangerously in violation of Arizona law. Dental x-rays may not be acutely dangerous but they are cumulative in their hazards, which means your cancer may not develop for 25 years from their unnecessary x-rays. Too late to sue the dentist. The genetic damage leading to cancer can build on itself year after year. The push for expensive x-rays seems to be motivated by profits instead of patient safety. MetLife and other medical malpractice insurance companies, on their websites, endorse the positions of the ADA and the State of Arizona. No one supports unnecessary medical procedures, especially if they are dangerous. You should know that 100% safe dental imaging exists. The staff is so friendly and the second time I came they remembered me, even after only meeting once before. The lobby is cozy and comfortable and the office is very up to date. I have never had any billing issues and have been impressed they can give me quotes for procedures right there in the office. I have also felt very comfortable with the precautions they have taken with the current pandemic. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a great dentist!

If you have ahcccs the health department is pretty much your only option. Good luck getting an appointment! I had 20 cracked teeth and wanted them all pulled. I let the very kind dentist talk me into getting resin buildups (??) instead, (like fillings and caps, but on top of the bad teeth); it was extremely inexpensive. Ahcccs paid for most of it. They looked great. But the "repaired" teeth started to rot within months. I just got better insurance and am in the process of having ALL teeth extracted by an oral surgeon. They rotted beneath the UV resin caps and came out in pieces. Some broke off before I could find an oral surgeon.

That is bad dental work, to not care that the crown does not have correct measurements. Also, I attended here during the waning days of the Covid scare. The office staff were being control freaks, telling people where to stand, and of course mandatory to wear masks which do no good (but can do harm). I did not feel welcomed nor respected in showing up there. Goodbye Dr. Blair!
