On a trip across the river we were looking for coffee and found Joes to go in our search. Looking online they had seemed to have a fun variety of offerings so we gave them a try. The location is drive thru only in a bright blue building at the backside of a parking lot. The building has windows on both sides, I expect to make service move a little faster in rushes. All of their offerings are posted on a drive up display so you can take some time to review before pulling ahead and ordering at the window. Some of their specials were only posted in the order window so take a beat to check those out too. When we pulled up to order we were greeted by possibly the happiest barista in all of Wisconsin! She was so cheerful and her energy was contagious. The customer service was enough of a reason to return but luckily the coffee was just as good! And very reasonably priced! We got three specialty latte drinks, an americano and two of their special donuts all for only $23! Way better tasting and overall experience than you will get at any siren or 'bou. I only wish joes to go was just down the road from me as they would absolutely be my go to for all caffeination cravings! read more

This place doesn't seem like much, but it is amazing. They have lots of unique lattes at a reasonable price, but I only had an iced americano. It was delicious - not bitter at all. Mondays, you can get an extra shot of espresso for free so I ended up with four shots to power me through Monday morning. It is drive through only but they do have two drive throughs so you can enter the parking lot from either direction and easily get in line. You order at the window so you can ask questions or ask for suggestions. It is easy to miss since it is so small, but definitely worth finding and conveniently located right off I-90. read more

A great little place - excellent java, a convenient location! I grabbed a Depth Charge to help me stay awake for the drive back to the Twin Cities. I also lucked out and got the last muffin, made fresh daily by a bakery in Bay Port. It has two-sided service. So you can actually drive up to the window on the north side or the south side. The coffee shack is in a super convenient location, in a big parking lot, very close to Highway 94 and the Charmicheal exit. I met the owner. She was ultra-friendly and cheery. They serve a really quality cup of coffee here for a very fair price..in fact the prices are at about the same (or less) as most coffee shops, and actually a bit cheaper when considering they're using superior coffee beans (organic beans from Peace Coffee). I love that they don't gouge you here for an extra shot of espresso-it's hard to get a depth charge at other coffee shops without paying around 4$ so I just don't order it at coffee shops on pure principle..but here a depth charge is under 3$. Not only are the beans of better quality, but the coffee strength is good too (often at coffee shops the brewed coffee is weak/watered down, and inconsistent, but here it's a respectable strength). My Keurig coffee pot suddenly decided to quit on my(third one in five years-but that's another story) I don't live too far from here and have wondered how they stay in business. It is so teeny tiny and not really in what I consider to be a huge business hub.... I was on my way in search of my Saturday morning Java fix and saw the open sign so it was a good time to satisfy my curiosity. It was easy to pull in and out of and my barista was very friendly and listened to how i wanted my coffee and did it perfectly. The price was under 2.00 for an awesome cup of coffee. I have been a long-time customer of Joe To Go and have always been satisfied. They used to be owned by someone different but since the switch-over, I don't think quality or customer service has suffered. Same great products and same great routines (Guess that tune Tuesday, and an extra shot of espresso on Monday) and same AMAZING coffee from Peace Coffee. I have lived in Hudson my whole life, and had seen this little hut thousands of times but never stopped until last year. As soon as I drove up and started looking at the looong list of organic fair-trade Peace Coffee offerings, I got excited. After the first sip, I fell in love, and am a devoted Joe-Go. That first drink I tried was the Hawaiian Dream. The second one I tried was the Almond Joy. (Both remain at the very top of my list that I highly recommend) And since then I have tried everything on the menu. This coffee simply cannot be beat for quality. You can taste the quality from the first sip, expertly crafted by the best barista in the world, Harriet. Whether you're a "froo-froo" coffee drinker, (you will love any of the Espresso Creations), or take it black, you will drive away happy and then drive back for more. Harriet and Joe team, Thank you for doing what you do, selling organic fair-trade, and being so kind to all your loyal patrons.
