I scheduled about a month in advanced and very soon after he got booked up fast! So schedule early and soon guys! I am not from New York and was flying in. I messaged him on Instagram questions I had about my haircut and he was very responsive. When I arrived, he knew who I was and addressed me accordingly. I scheduled a regular scissor haircut, but he took his time and even explained what and how he was cutting my hair. He even took a video for me to save for later! My haircut came out so much better than I envisioned. This man is an artist and I cannot recommend him enough. COME SEE THIS MAN. You will not be disappointed!!

I'm glad I booked an appointment and visited Tina Nikolle's Salon. Tina was phenomenal. She gave me an awesome haircut and also trimmed my beard so that I can attend the wedding reception with the best looks! She is very good at what she does and more importantly extremely nice and kind person. Once you interact with her you know how much she loves her job and cares for her customers. One tip to add: If you are visiting for the first time, you may have trouble locating the salon. It's right next to De Janeiro. Needless to say my immediate thought was "Um yeah!" I checked out his Instagram and he has an expansive portfolio of styles (check him out if you haven't already/ @ianlevinsonhair). I was stoked to set up time in his chair for the following week. The studio itself (located near garment district) is well curated &&& a vibe. Chill music and well-styled interior design create a mood when you enter Low Earth thanks to the collective of talented artists working there. Ian offered me a sparkling water upon arrival (though if it was earlier in the day I'd hope it was an espresso from their beast of a machine!). And I could tell the vibes were good based on the conversations happening at both of the occupied chairs. Hair art is not a concept I've been familiar with in the past but after an hour in Ian's chair, I'm inspired creatively and by his passion for his craft. Ian was tactile, precise and thoughtful in every cut he took of my hair--walking me through the reasoning for the shapes he was creating. He wanted to educate me on why certain shapes and styles complement my look--or don't--and it's clear he knows his stuff.
