Have you ever seen a shop be so condescending and rude instead of help fix the problem! Yikes! Found Mj's Auto service on Facebook. Talked to John about what was going on with my car. I told him specifically that I needed all the leaks fixed. He gave me a quote and said he needed half the money up from for parts. I (knowing women get scammed a lot) said no that's okay I'll find someone else to do it. I knew something was off. But he convinced me to go with him and on my better judgment I did. I had taken a loan out for $3,000 and told him not to go over that. Probably another big mistake! Because he took me for all my money! He had my car over 2 weeks! And still wanted to keep it for longer. He conveniently stated moving into a new shop after I gave him all of my money and that was his main priority instead of getting my car fixed. If wasn't up for the task he shouldn't have taken on this project! Didn't fix all the leaks like I asked. And still tried to say I owed him more money. On top of my temperature gauge not working anymore and my wiper fluid canister broke and this piece of hanging tube he said "just go to the junkyard and get the piece that's missing!" And my transmission fluid still leaking! Excuse me but if you are working on my car and break or misplaced something that's your job to fix it! I can't tell you how unprofessional that is and to say he is reliable and has 5 stars but treated me like I was nothing took all my money and still didn't fix my car to say I'm pissed is an understatement! I asked for an itemized receipt and still have yet to receive a receipt of any kind of proof of work that he's done on my car. I don not recommend this guy for work especially if you are a woman! He takes advantage of woman. I knew I should have gone with my gut because I knew he was going to screw me! Also I called him to express my concern and he would not let me talk made up some bull crap lie and also recorded our conversation! So yeah I was mad but he's was rude and interrupting! And now his girlfriend is attacking me personally! Never talked to her before! She knows nothing about the situation yet she's being insulting to me! Says a lot about the people they are over a bad review!

Come to fine that he is also proficient with Jeep and Subaru as well. I have gotten to know Jon over the past year and am more than pleased with his knowledge and abilities to evaluate my cars. The major issue we've dealt with has been what's known as a TIPM which basically is the control computer onboard to which all electrical is connected. Very technical and delicate but he's gotten me heading in the right direction. What I first learned about him is that integrity is of the greatest importance. Because of his deaership experience he is very knowledgable and efficient with his time and tools. An experienced person as myself can evaluate mechanical skill by the way a person works. I pride myself also with the ability to tell when a person is being honest. When dealing with pricing, a skilled mechanic can finish a job while others are just beginning. I highly recommend Jon and look forward to using his service again when needed.

BEWARE! I have had my jeep for 12 years and while I have had some problems, it has been pretty…read morereliable. That was until I brought it to On the Side. I brought it there less than 3 months ago to have them check out the whole car to see if there were any issues. They, of course, found some issues and charged me about $2000 to fix them (ball joints, tie rods, spark plugs etc.) This was after they were supposed to have fully checked the car. I had them do all their recommended fixes, which included fixing issues with the radiator that they said were needed. Well, that is where the issues started! About 1.5 weeks later, my clutch fails without any warning. My clutch has been fully reliable and solid up to that point, no signs of wearing out. So I go back and pay them about $1500 to fix that issue. Or course, maybe a coincidence that they did not find it during their checks. The car also had some issues with the gear going into reverse that were not fixed by the clutch replacement (they claimed they did not even find it after fixing the clutch), and their response was "well, that's just a jeep". (This was their first point not standing behind their repairs). A few weeks later I go to have the oil changed and they tell me that my car is a couple quarts low on oil. Shouldn't they found this on their review of the car? (I would think so, but when I brought this up with Angelo, he said "well, we didn't check the oil".) I brought it in for a full review and they did not check the oil!?! They had done almost $3500 of work including a work-up of the car and did not EVER check the oil? OK, I let that one go too, and then a some weeks later the radiator fails - cracks and fails completely! They had just worked on the radiator and did not see any issue that would lead to a total failure? And when I brought it to them, their answer was "radiators fail all the time... when it rains, it pours". Really? Maybe it should be better stated, when you bring your car to On the Side Automotive it pours. That was the last straw. I have had good and bad mechanics in the past. Good mechanics stand behind their work and never seem to generate new issues on the car after they work on it. Bad mechanics never stand behind their work and seem to, as if by magic, generate consistent repairs on a car. Angelo seems like a nice enough guy, but based on my experience, I would not trust him with an oil change unless you want a major repair in the near future. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I feel a lot of shame...

I had to pop in and surprise him to find out that he had barely touched the car in 10 months. I had to pay to have it towed to another shop to have the work done and he refused to return my deposit money. This man is not to be trusted.
