This is one of the worst experiences i've ever had. We came in for breakfast on a referral and the manager was extremely rude when i inquired why a group of construction men were catered to even though they entered the restaurant 10 minutes after us. When he came over to seat them i politely explained that my group had been waiting and were first. He ignored us and spoke to the group of men telling them they would be seated now. Needless to say we left . If you want to be treated badly then go there. A friend told me a few days later that she wasn't crazy about the food there. I'll never go back to try it. Located less than two miles from a Ferrari (!) dealership, Bob's is a classic diner that should be in Prince William County and not close to these one percenters who don't care as much about saving money as we do. B-[ I had the "Chorizo Con Huevos" which is scrambled eggs and Mexican sausage to us Gringos. It was delicious, spicy and well worth $9.95. My biscuit was also excellent. I can't recommend Joe's highly enough for breakfast. I plan to revisit sometime when I'm hob-knobing with the wealthy and explore the rest of the menu. We went to this place based on Yelp reviews and they were not wrong! Awesome traditional diner food but very well executed!!! The eggs are perfectly cooked - no dry scrambled eggs or overcooked yolks for over easy eggs. The meats are well done and they have chorizo, country ham, and scrapple, which you don't always find. Also a few Hispanic dishes with the best plaintains I have had in years! Reasonable prices and extremely friendly and attentive staff. It was packed but the owner made the wait easier by checking frequently with folks and keeping up a steady entertaining patter. Gosh, how did this place get 4+ stars? It was a solid two at best. Service was super attentive. That's the good news. The food was unappealing. Coffee tasted like it had been burnt, then watered down. Hash browns were overdone. Biscuits were flat. Sausages in the sausage gravy were fatty. Cream gravy was brownish (what?). I have been coming to joes for years. Friendly staff and wonderful food. However, this morning I went to grab breakfast and I found a hair on my food. I brought it to the ladies attention, and to be honest I didn't like how they dealt with the situation. Grab me a new plate and apologize and that's fine. But she came back to tell me that the hair was mine..... I have silver blonde hair that was braided completely back.... the hair was black with a tip of blonde.... regardless even if it was mine (which it wasn't cause I know my own damn hair) you don't tell your customer that. This is a very popular restaurant with a line out the door during a snowstorm (outdoor heaters provided, which is a very nice touch). Even with that the wait was pretty quick for a party of 3, about 15 mins. Once in service was amazing, drinks came quickly, order taken, and food arrived all very quickly even thought gah it was packed. Beyond that anytime we needed anything: a coffee refill, an add on order, etc staff was highly attentive. So for service they get a 5 stars. However, the food was a real let down. I had been craving eggs Benedict and was very disappointed when I saw them... some off color "sauce" which I think had a nacho cheese type flavor and the eggs were cooked through. My wife loved her grits and scrambled egg whites. We got a pancake and French toast for my son, which I tried..... but here is the final nail, they only have breakfast syrup, no real maple syrup! In the end maybe we just ordered wrong because they clearly have a following but if you are looking for classic American breakfast fare, go elsewhere. read more

We stopped for breakfast this morning. Not only is the food fabulous, but we felt like family! Today we're helping my son and his family move from Reston, VA to Poolesville, MD. As we pulled into the parking lot at Joes, my son called to say his movers cancelled! When the manager at Joes stopped at our table to see how our breakfast was, we also told him what had just happened with the movers. Went to Joe's cafe yesterday, on a Sunday. The place was packed but our party of 6 was able to sit within 30 minutes of arriving. Not only was the food amazing, the service and efficiency of the staff was phenomenal. Many servers came multiple times asking if we needed anything, offering us more coffee, water or any other refill drinks. Our food came out less than 10 minutes after we ordered. All of us liked our egg dishes and the pancakes loved it, will definitely come back. read more

I stopped by Joe's on my way out of the city to hit the Leesburg outlets. I was looking for some good diner food because DC is sorely lacking in that department. Fortunately, Joe's delivered! I was impressed with the friendly and quick service and the range of the menu. I ordered the breakfast option that had two eggs corned beef hash, a hashbrown, and toast. My boyfriend ordered the chorizo scrambled eggs. Both dishes were great, though I think the food could have used a little more salt. This place was a last minute find on our way to do some work with a neighboring business. What a great find! Customer service: this place has nailed the art of customer service. Everyone from the wait staff to the manager was engaging and helpful. Servers that weren't even assigned to our table would stop when they passed to ensure everything was good! Food: I was with a party of 3 and we all ordered different meals. One has a breakfast burrito, the other pancakes, and me the breakfast sandwich. Everything was delicious to include the cup of Joe. They even accommodated me having just egg whites on my sandwich. My only recommendation was to have other meats besides pork as an option on the menu. Good food, good service. The burgers are really good. My only complaint, its too expensive. Seriously, a club sandwich, fries and a drink are like 12 bucks. Don't get me wrong, it's good diner grub. Some of the best in the area...BUT...in the end it's just a lunch counter. My significant other and I wanted to dine out for breakfast and I located Joe's Café through Yelp. The reviews were plentiful and good. We arrived on a cloudy Sunday morning to a crowded restaurant. Surprisingly we were seated quickly in a booth with well-worn seats (sizeable tear on one bench seat). Joe's Café is a cozy typical diner with a hometown feel, and large number of options on the menu. I ordered eggs, grits, corned beef hash and English muffin. My significant other ordered the same but had hash browns instead of grits. The grits weren't good, so after a few attempts to eat them I stopped trying. However, everything else was good. I tried the hash browns on my significant other's plate, they were not good and not even ketchup improved the taste. I will probably return to Joe's Café but definitely will not order the grits or hash browns. read more

Really nice small place. The food and atmosphere is very top notch. This is a very American food kind of place, but does so well in execution. The meals feel large but not overbearing, and the breakfast menu is vast and exciting. Thanks to yelp i was able to find a genuine spot for breakfast near reston(10 min drive). Compared to Miami i am not usually impressed with the cuisine in VA, luckily my yelp app was just a click away. Its everything an authentic diner should be. Located in a shopping center, as soon as we walked in there were a few parties nestled in right by the entrance trying to make room for us walking in, i got a bit excited but kept it to myself so i wouldn't jinx it. There is no hostess or list to put your name on, there is a bench you can sit on and everyone sits or stands in order and this very sociable guy (i think its Joe) makes small talk with his customers waiting and is constantly keeping everything under control, he estimates your wait time as you start peeking at what everyone is ordering around you. The menu is what you would expect from any diner, they have eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, grits etc. For 8$ yes only 8$ i ordered one of the breakfast specials on the menu that included: 2 pancakes, 2 eggs(i chose over med), bacon or sausage (the substituted hash browns since i dont eat meat) and i believe it either came or i asked for toast. i paid an extra 1$ for their seasonal pancakes which were pumpkin spice and they tasted like pumpkin pie. They were nice and fluffy as well. I don't usually order pancakes but my partner in crime is a pancake expert (he had the original ones) and he was very happy with them as well. Its not a big diner, they have a counter where i saw a few gentleman coming in alone to sit and have a quick bite. As well as a few booths, but most of their tables are longer and you sit with another party...but it does not feel intrusive at all, feels like your in a small town and in a diner!! i loved it. We had several waitresses ask us if we needed anything and although it was packed we never felt neglected. My eggs were cooked perfectly. I know eggs are eggs, but so many times i go to a popular over priced restaurant and find my eggs over cooked. As soon as you cut into the yolk the yolk started running and made a perfect pairing with my wheat toast. The pancakes were fluffy and the way they should be. Nothing fancy just made right. I don't usually give out 5 stars, but i had to give it to Joe. They are not claiming to be something they are not. Just a good diner with good food and good people. Hooray for trying out new places and hooray for Yelp! not letting me down yet...I had had Joe's Cafe in my Bookmark list for quite some time, and the hubby and I ventured in for a late Saturday morning breakfast/lunch. We were lucky and there wasn't a wait, and we were seated in a booth. Server immediately brought (tasty and inexpensive) hot coffee and waters, as we pored over the extensive menu. Don't be put off by the unattractive strip mall in which Joe's is located. The interior, the service, the prices, and the quality of food more than make up for the tired exterior. Speaking of the extensive menu and quality of food, Joe's has a page devoted to a ton of breakfast-style items, and two pages for those who prefer to lunch. This dichotomy makes my husband and me very happy since I always want breakfast and he's more into sandwiches and burgers. My inner Spice Fiend was excited about the three varieties of Tabasco and Sriacha hot sauce on the table, so I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which I felt was executed well at Joe's. 2 eggs cooked to order, a hearty serving of not-too-salty but well-spiced refried beans, chunked fresh avocado, slightly smoky ranchera sauce on the side, and (my choice) crispy hasbrowns. Instead of the corn tortillas you might find at a true Mexican spot, at Joe's you choose your bread, which I was totally a-okay with. Doused the eggs and beans with Chipotle Tabasco and Ranchera, and I was in heaven, sopping up the eggs with sourdough bread. Hubby ordered the 6-inch hot tuna sub, and being a tuna salad connoisseur, reported that the tuna was perfectly tasty, and not swimming in mayonnaise. Tuna salad was as it should be, mostly tuna, with the accent of celery. Mayo came on the side, and fresh, tasty bread was dressed with tomato and lettuce. Ordered a side of fries, and received a huge serving of those really tasty and crispy diner fries. Our total was just under $20 - a total steal, IMHO. Service was attentive the entire time. A definite alternative for us from Amphora and Waffle King's Virginia Kitchen. We will be back for sure. We stumbled across this place one morning after a wedding - this place was a godsend! I ordered the Biscuits with Sausage gravy and got THREE whole biscuits - they're very generous with portions here. The other people in our party were very pleased with chipped beef gravy and corned beef hash. Service is casual and efficient, the menu items are all typical of what you'd find in any diner, but that's what makes this place so successful! I'm not sure what's prompting all the great reviews. It's an OK diner with food that is just OK. I saw the owner on Monday morning, when eating breakfast and he wasn't the personable person everyone made him out to be. Maybe it was just a bad day. The Atmosphere It's a hole in the wall place. A little dated. Nothing special. I don't like that there's very few tables to yourself. There are about 6 or 7 tables of 6 down the middle of the restaurant. If you're a party of 2, you share your table with 4 strangers. Not a huge fan! The Food I had Chorizo and eggs. It was just OK. Hash Browns were pedestrian. Toast was decent. At least they put a lot of butter on it. Sherry had French Toast, ham, and eggs. She thought something was off with the French Toast. She was thinking the cream was bad. I tasted it. I don't think it was bad cream...but there was something off about the taste. Eggs were standard scrambled eggs. Ham looked like it was straight out of a package of deli sandwich ham...and not the good kind. Prices You can find better prices at IHOP, Denny's, and Jukebox Diner. A little pricey for the quality. Service It was a little slow. The girl refilling the drinks was fast...but I don't think the server checked on us again after we got our food. Overall It was just OK. A+ diner food! I had the pleasure of dropping off a friend for a Sunday morning flight at Dulles, and we swung by for some better-than-airport-food grub. Now with a bar set that low, it's hard to disappoint, but Joe's was above and beyond our expectations. The biscuits and gravy was filling and tasty. The breakfast sandwich was epically large with two large sausage patties on an extra large croissant. There was not a veggie in sight as we choked down our sides of home fries and hash browns. I Loved this place!!! Great friendly atmosphere, speedy service, and delicious food! My fiancé and I went for breakfast and were immediately impressed. I had the country sausage gravy and biscuit which had a unique smokey flavor that made it impossible to stop eating, even long after you are full. Their sausage, scrapple and home-fries are all perfectly made. Some of the best sausage I have ever tasted! my fiancé had the french toast and said it was fresh and fluffy.
