I must say, I can't really say a bad word about this place. Who knew Arnotts could be so hip?! ;-) If you are a coffee person, they really do have amazing coffee. Ok so I don't drink coffee, but many of my esteemed colleagues and friends do, and they are a picky lot. Joe's do every type of coffee imaginable like dripped brews, aeropress, and the likes, and change their blends often. They also do some really nice teas (not as many as I'd like, but I can't hold it against them, they are called Joe's COFFEE after all, not Joe's Cofftea (though maybe that's an idea...) They sell some unbelievably good baked goods (try the brownie, it is ridiculous), and homemade sandwiches that are packaged so that you can eat them on the go. I think I'd like to see a little more choice with the savory food, but I know they've gone down this route so as not to compete with the myriad of other options in Arnotts, so fair play. On top of all this, they are really nice, genuine guys. You can see their passion and love for their brand and their coffee shines through, and they're more than happy to chat with anyone about it. If you like coffee, and you haven't been, try it. Don't let the Arnotts facade put you off. This place is a find. read more

They offer two coffees at any one time: their own house blend of coffee and a guest coffee. The barista serving me was helpful and descriptive when I asked what the blends were like. I went for the house blend in the form of a flat white and I was pleasantly surprised. I was really good. I'm not usually such a fan of cafes inside department stores or shopping centres, so I'm probably more likely to get take aways from here really. Saying that I still thought they had done a good job with the decor. The stools are like high versions of old wooden school chairs with the cylindrical metal frames. There's also a nice area outside which could be a great place to sit in a couple of months or that might interest smokers. read more

Consider this a 3.5 star coffee review. Nice place, relaxing to sit there. Coffee was really good. Very tasty flat white. The loss of 1.5 stars is for the price and size of the coffee. €3 for a small cup, regardless of how good it is, is way too expensive. 6.50€ for a large juice is pushing the boat out too. Creating a culture where €3 is the norm for a small coffee is to my mind a really shit development for Ireland. Others are guilty too, I have said it before and I am sure I will say it more often. The coffee here is great but I probably will not support Joe's in fuelling Ireland's rip-off culture. read more

Every time that I am in Dublin this little café in Arnotts is my first stop. I have been here a few times and was always good! Their coffee is really good (like so many other places in Dublin nowadays) and they give you the chance to choose which coffee beans you prefer on your coffee. Plus their baked goods are also really nice. Thumbs up for oats muffin!!! The place is small and very bright, with only a few seats and in a wonderful location for people-watching! They have a big bench at the window to watch the buzz on the street while drinking some coffee. Well, if people-watching is not your favourite sport, there is always the Arnotts free WiFi. This place is all about coffee in a beautiful space and a nice atmosphere! Sometimes it can be a bit too noisy but I don't mind it because I like the view!! Only if I could bring this place with me back to Belfast!!! read more

That's a lovely place close to Jervis shopping center that I just found today! It is actually inside the Arnotts shop and despite I have been there before I have never seem this place. It is a small cafe with a nice selection of juices, muffins and cakes. The staff is just lovely and they their loyalty card as well. For drink I had a big latte and a carrot cake, that was veeeeery good (but too little to my sweet teeth! Overall this place is very handy and I enjoyed it a lot. read more

Joe's took me by surprise. It's on one of Arnott's entrances and that made me ignore it. But then a Yelp event made me realize that they are nothing like a boring department store's coffee shop, but instead a place dedicated to coffee, put together by people who know and love what they're doing. Although it's inside Arnott's they did a good job at recreating a more quiet and inviting vibe in there, making it sufficiently removed from the rest of the store to keep their own customers from being disturbed. There's a stand facing the street window, where you can sit feeling very cosmopolitan while you watch the people going by outside. There's a long tall table in the centre where there are usually a couple of newspapers and outside there are a few tables and chairs too. They have a special concept about the coffee they serve, striving to find the sweeter notes of the coffee - so for that they use single origin lots and lighter roasts. All the coffee I've had at Joe's up to this point has been exceptional, but their crown jewel are the dripped brews, even though all their espresso based drinks are very well poured and equally well selected. They aren't the only ones in Dublin serving this kind of coffee, of course, but I think they're doing a good job making it more popular. You can buy their coffee lots and the featured guest roaster one's, as well as coffee brewing equipment at very reasonable prices - actually I've found some things to be cheaper here than in other coffee shops in town. They are ready to advise you about the different varieties qualities and which ones are better for the different brewing methods. If you're in a hurry you may have to remind them about it as they can start talking too passionately :) The people working here were always helpful and nice. Once I had a free small slice of their chocolate brownie with my morning coffee just because the waiter was in a good mood. Thursdays are a special day around here: by the end of the afternoon they put up some coffee demonstrations so it's a good time to go by and get to know their work and their products. So, I'm not giving it a full 5 stars for two reasons: 1) their pastries are ok, some better than others (the coconut, lemon and raspberry squares for instance are delicious) but overall they don't match just how good the coffee is and by the end of the day can be quite dry; 2) this place would be oh-so-cool if only they were located in their own small shop. But the important thing is that Joe's is a great spot and I utterly recommend it to anyone whose taste buds truly pulse at the taste of good coffee :) Don't forget your loyalty card! read more

Gorgeous pastries. I attended a coffee tasting evening with other Yelpers and enjoyed the experience and knowledge about coffee that is served here. I am not passionate enough about the topic to give a proper review of the coffee in itself but I like the ethos and intention behind Joe's coffee. It was interesting to hear about their local suppliers, the process involved in developing the perfect cup and there is definite passion. Loved the merchandising (Joe's t-shirts, shots etc) and shop selection of coffees, coffee makers and coffee books. Pastries were. to. die. for. The rest of the food selection (sandwiches etc) also appealed though I didn't try it. Décor - lovely - with a view of bustling shopping street while you can just take a break from it all. Surprisingly nice! I had never really paid attention to Joe's, mainly because it was within Arnott's. Clearly my prejudice was totally unfounded as I recently stopped into Joe's to grab a coffee just to keep out of the rain, but was surprised by how good it was! They serve different blends and they give a description of the flavours in each one. You then choose your drink, ie., cappuccino, flat white etc, and then choose the bean/blend you want from a choice of two. They are both different prices however which I didn't like. €3/€4. I felt that €4 for a cappuccino within a department store was quite expensive! They offer a coffee loyalty card also, buy 5 get one free, which is great! read more

This review is for the Joe's coffee in Arnotts. I'd like to be able to review the coffee but I actually didn't get to sample it. I attempted to purchase some today after lunchtime but the THREE people behind the counter were far too busy serving nobody else ( I was the only customer waiting) to even acknowledge my presence. I stood there for a good two minutes while they spoke amongst themselves. Not one of them even looked up and acknowledged my presence ( i was standing in plain sight right in front of them so it's not like they didn't see me). Obviously I walked. You either want my custom or you don't. If I was the owner/manager of this place I'd want my staff to acknowledge each person who approaches the counter & to greet them with a smile. Passing by this place almost everyday, I finally decided to give it a shot. Being part of Arnotts made me a bit skeptical at first, but they did seem to have a lot of coffee equipment and coffee beans for sale, as well as food, pastries and even miso soup! First, the coffee is pretty average, the cups are quite small compared to other coffee places and everything is 3 euro and over. Being brutally honest and having had coffee all over Dublin city, it's kind of a rip off paying 3 euro for a small Americano. The coffee is also a bit weak. The staff were friendly and seemed to be quite knowledgable about coffee in general, and the seating area is pretty nice and bright. There's also some nice outdoor seating. Overall, I wouldn't put in my top 10 Dublin coffee spots or come especially for a coffee, but if you're in the area or shopping at Arnotts then why not. read more

Joe, consider me swooned. I never usually give much props to cafe's that are part of larger department stores (as they do tend to be over-priced, lacking in quality & generally soul-less.) but look at me now, I'm swooning like a love-sick pup over one such cafe! And that's because Joe's is different. Why? Because the people of Joe's are ridiculously passionate about coffee and go out of their way to ensure that theirs is of the highest quality, always fresh (and vacuum packed) and sourced from farmers that are being paid fairly. Joe's is a fantastic addition to the Dublin shopping routine. On top of its dedicated and expert staff, high quality range of coffees teas cakes and snacks, it simply couldn't be better positioned in the Dublin shopping scene. What I really love about Joe's is its location. Being situated in Arnotts in the heart of Dublin's commercial centre, it is certainly an easy one to incorporate into your day. But apart from its centrality, it has its own unique traits that set it apart. The café looks out onto a pedestrianised street, and doesn't have its own dedicated doorway leading out onto the street. So, there is no throng of busy pedestrians at the entrance. There are no buses or taxis barreling noisily past the shopfront. It is remarkably calm, while being in the very centre of the city. This really is a great spot that won't leave you disappointed in terms of quality, service, selection and price. The café itself is a nice place to sit, with high ceilings, nice furniture, nice music, in a nice setting. I would have no problem giving Joe's the fifth star if it was in its own self-contained building. It is hard to forget that you're essentially sitting in an open area in Arnott's, which takes away from the whole experience. Joe's is a great spot for shoppers, but less so for someone who is looking for a more cosy and secluded café in which to while away their time. read more

If you're into your Coffee, well, why haven't you been here yet? Joe's is *the* place for coffee on the north side. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur, or novice, the staff at Joe's can serve you whatever you want, however you want it. Sometimes they can even manage to serve you something you didn't even know you wanted - with their constantly changing range of coffees from around the world. I'm a particular fan of Joe's practice of letting you taste the coffees before ordering. The café itself is very small, tacked onto the edge of Arnotts shopping centre. It's a great place to set up for a few hours with your laptop and get some work done. The café has a relaxed vibe, and the Arnotts wi-fi can be accessed for free from the café. Joe's also offers a range of sandwiches. My favourite is the chicken and pear pesto! A sandwich and coffee can set you back a bit more than other chain coffee shops, but if you're willing to spend the money it's worth it, for the top class coffee, and the calm, rustic environment. read more

I bought freshly roasted coffee beans here, named Kochere from "The Barn": the worst coffee I've ever tried. These seem to be single origin beans from Ethiopia, with way too many spicy notes, which make it undrinkable. Me and two other people who tasted it yesterday have the same opinion on them. I will have to mix the beans with other cheap brands to be able to use them somehow. For 12€ a pack (250 grams) you would expect decent coffee, they have other types but I won't be coming back. read more
