They have a limited menu along with limited hours for summer! But the service is top noch, food is delicious, and the decor leaves no one at a loss for conversation topics.

Don't waste your time and money here. Almost everything my girlfriend and I ordered here was horrible. Eggs were severely undercooked, almost inedible. Sausage was rubbery and cold and the Waffle was incredibly small and dry. The orange juice was also watered down. How do you mess up orange juice?

Joe's diner was on my list since it's relatively popular and you could easily tell when you see people lined up to the door waiting for a seat, it was packed. Mediocre breakfast food and very nice servers. Didn't really enjoy the food and probably wouldn't come back, but I had to try it. Definitely a famous stop around Blacksburg, resembles Waffle House.

Extremely affordable diner that will definitely help your hunger. The food isn't outrageously delicious, but it definitely gets the job done. It gets pretty busy during breakfast and lunch. I ordered an egg and cheese on wheat with a side of hash browns. The food is exactly what it sounds like. Everything on the menu is affordable too. The service is also really great. Everyone is super friendly and they get to you pretty quickly. The egg and cheese was pretty standard. The hash browns too. Everything was cooked well and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Generally in the morning I always crave a bagel, but this time I wanted a diner style breakfast, so I decided to stop by Joe's Diner. I went on a very rainy day, and to my surprise there was still a line! The line died down quickly and after about 15 minutes I had a table. After looking at the menu I was set on getting big joe's breakfast with a side of biscuits and gravy and strawberry milk. The food came out pretty fast and I was ready to dive in! Starting off the strawberry milk was amazing. It had real strawberries in it! The breakfast itself was as you would expect from any diner. My favorite was the biscuits and gravy since the gravy was well seasoned and the biscuits did its job of soaking up the gravy! Overall, if your in town and want a great diner style breakfast I suggest you stop by!

Great service and good food. A great local diner that serves classic food. Expect a wait time for breakfast on weekends.

We actually tried eating here a few months prior but the wait was nearly 2 hours long. This go around we had no wait. We were immediately sat and our drink orders were taken. Both my daughter and I chose apple juice. We also ordered a small appetizer b/c she was starving. The appetizer was yummy, can't remember what it was called but it was basically like doughnuts without the caramel it comes with. Our server was a young man and he did a fantastic job. He was very attentive to our table and our needs. The food was amazing, now I see why there was a 2 hour wait last time. I rarely eat other people's grits but these were pretty tasty and cooked just right. When I got my check I was in total shock though. Two apple juices (with no refills mind you) were approx. $5 a piece. WTF, why so expensive? I could have purchased a large jug of apple juice from Kroger. Yeah, I know I sound cheap. Nope, that the case just shocked at the price of a small glass of apple juice was with again no refills. We will definitely return next time I visit but we won't get apple juice again, we will stick to water.

The server didn't even take the biscuits off the check after we explained we couldn't eat something that salty. She explained the gravy was bought frozen, wasn't prepared by them. This place obviously doesn't care about costumers. If you want to get diabetes and a heart attack have breakfast here daily!

I was caught off guard when my friend walked up the stairs to the house because from initial appearance, I wouldn't have thought this was the restaurant! Upon walking in, the host greeted us and told us his name was Dan and that he was the owner of the restaurant! It was really cool to see that the owner is truly passionate about his restaurant and will show up to put in the work, even during the later hours. In terms of the food, I went with the Hungry Hokie which was a mashed potato bowl with with bits of meatloaf and chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese. It also came with a biscuit or cornbread, I opted in with the cornbread. The food was absolutely hearty and had pretty good flavor! The one wish that I had was that it came in a bigger portion as it didn't fully fill me up. If I was in town again, I'd definitely consider going back to try the other items on the menu!

The Cellar is one of those restaurants where you might wonder, "Do they have ...?" And the answer…read morewill probably be, "Yes, they do have that on the menu." They have gyros, meatball subs, pizza, burgers, crab cakes, kabobs, chicken parmesan and lots more. I get a little squinky when I see a multiple-page menu with lots of random foods on it. But I visited with a group, and so I was locked into this place, whether I liked it or not. A quick internet and Yelp search told me that the things to get at The Cellar are the Greek gyro and the pizzas. I didn't want a whole pie just for myself, so I ordered the gyro. The Greek gyro was really good! It is lamb and beef in a pita, topped with tzatziki, lettuce, onion and tomato. All of the veggies were super fresh, and the pita was warm and pillowy. It's served with chips and a pickle. They actually have quite a few Greek or Mediterranean-adjacent items on the menu. One of the people in my group ordered the Black & Blue Salad, which is basically a salad with steak and bleu cheese on it, plus lots of vegetables. It was huge! She ate a lot of it, and it looked like she barely made a dent. When she put the leftovers in the to-go container, she almost needed two containers! It became a running joke that day and for a couple of days afterward about whether or not she actually finished that salad. This is also the location for the 6Pak Bottle Shop, which is basically a liquor store but intensely curated. They have a nice selection of craft beers and wine. There is also a bar downstairs, which I didn't have the pleasure of visiting. Another great thing about The Cellar is that they are open late! Sometimes until midnight, and sometimes until 2 a.m. I guess that makes sense, as they are located basically right across the street from Virginia Tech.

We also ordered sides of curly fries. These were fried fresh. It's somewhat of a dark speakeasy vibe. The crowd was tame compared to some of the other bars down the street. We hope to try the full restaurant in our next visit.

I have lived in Blacksburg my whole life and ODB has been a go-to bakery for most locals for a while. Serving a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and offering lunch, brunch, and dinners. They have a lovely variety of options for customers to enjoy. The bakery primarily serves French pastries and caters to French cuisine at their meals. Although they offer more than just French inspired food. In the past, my family and I have enjoyed grabbing their cakes for celebrations and individual pastries from their pastries case. But recently, they have not been up to par and have left us very unsatisfied. The cakes have been dry and do not taste fresh at all. On my latest visit I tried a couple of things, all of which were cold, with dry, crumbly textures. It was evident to me that these pastries were not made day-of and had clearly sat in a fridge for at least one night (if not more). I found this to be extremely disappointing as ODB used to have a reputation of serving FRESH baked goods and pastries. I cannot attest for the hot food they serve during meal times, but the pastries and cakes have gone down hill. Over the winter break, I had their NY cheesecake bar (which I've gotten in the past and it was phenomenal) and it fell so short of what I remembered. It was lacking flavor and the crust at the bottom was dry. This past visit, I tried a Napoleon (also have had this before and really enjoyed it), a specialty cake, a scone, and a couple macarons and macaroons. The Napoleon was so cold and the puff pastry was super stale, it practically fell apart the second I tried to eat it. The specialty individual cake slice was also very cold and the cake wasn't moist at all. Again, indicating it was not fresh or made day-of. The scone was also a disappointment as it was dry and lacked any moisture. I thought the macrons and macaroons were fine though. While most of this was disappointing, the price didn't help either. Nothing was inexpensive and the quality was completely missing. So disappointing to leave this review as I used to enjoy coming here for sweet treats. It's sad to see that ODB is unfortunately not what it used to be. I will note that the service is very friendly and they do their best dealing with customers. Could have been more efficient, but I did go during a busier time. I hope they can turn things around, but until then I do not think I will be retuning soon.
