After recently being closed for remodeling, we dedicated to go here after church today. When we arrived, I didn't notice any significant changes from the remodel. We ordered a glass of wine and were told the business was under new ownership and the new owner didn't have his TACB license yet. I mentioned to the waitress (her 1st day) that we could byob. She and another waitress who'd been there for a while both told us that we could not byob. They stated they could be shut down if someone brought their own wine into the establishment. I'm pretty sure that's not correct, but we didn't argue with them. We had the spagetti and meat sauce and lobster stuffed ravioli. Both were okay, but not excellent. Also, he asked for Italian dressing for his salad only to be told they didn't have Italian dressing. How can you call yourself an Italian Restaurant and not have Italian dressing? My Cesar salad was a lettuce and tomato salad with mozzarella cheese. The only thing that separated it from a house salad was the dressing. If we go again, I think we'll maybe try the pizza. Well I went from 5 stars down to 1. The calamari smelled so bad (bait) I had them immediately take it away. The special was a Sicilian Marsala with Veal and shrimp. Veal should be overly tender and it wasn't. It had a lot of gristle and I've never tasted Marsala wine like this. It was more of a brown gravy and several of the mushrooms were shriveled up. If this was the actual special of the day you'd think there would be fresh condiments. Lastly I don't understand why I get charged extra for using my Debit card. It's like cash and not a credit. I questioned my financial institution and they were in agreement. I guess I'll just stick to pizza when I go there. They definitely have that going for them. read more

The food is outstanding and authentic. Service is always friendly and helpful with a smile. Nice atmosphere warm and inviting so this would be a romantic restaurant for your special occasions or any time. Don't forget to try their desserts! My favorite is their awesome TIRAMISU CAKE!! read more

Date night anticipation. I was looking for an Italian place to take my date on a Monday night, but in this town all the Italian restaurants are closed on Mondays with the exception of the quick pizza only places, but the next available date time for her was on a Wednesday and my date was inclined to show up, I'm glad she did because Joe's Italian restaurant was in full swing. When we pulled up the parking lot was 3/4 full ( hint ) that's a good sign Lol. We started off with drinks. We ordered two sangrias, but because they didn't have a full-time bartender yet, they just got their liquors license. We had to settle for a few shots on the rocks of Malibu coconut rum. They took our main course orders, then quickly brought out our salads and table bread, which was warm and delicious. She had the lasagna which she did enjoy. And I had the combination plate, which consists of a sampling of lasagna, chicken Parmesan, and linguine Alfredo, all which was very enjoyable. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu. She and I had a good time. The atmosphere was very family orientated. There must've been at least four birthday groups happening at the same time, so the waiters and waitresses was very busy singing the birthday song and serving multiple tables. The food was quick to be served and it didn't disappoint. There was multiple TVs on different channels, and all the staff was friendly and spoke multi languages. It was funny to hear some Italian songs sung in Spanish. Lol Good service, good food and good fun. If I'm ever in this area again, I will return. read more

First we walked in and asked where our group was and the girl ignored us. We had to wait for someone else to help. Then we waited a long time to order our food, sure it was Father's Day, you should be prepared for that. Then the place itself had so many building hazards, holes in the roof, bugs on the window, the floor literally moved. Gross. Then we got some rolls that were burnt, Sprite that had no flavor, terrible service. Then we ordered finally and the food was meh. Pizza was alright, my dad ordered a Stromboli with NO sausage, it came burnt like the bread and had ALL sausage. Then instead of asking if he wanted something else and taking the plate she just went and told another guy to help. Then he said he'd just share his wife's pizza and later the waitress mentioned about how they were making a new Stromboli and we were like, tf, we didn't ask for that. Luckily it didn't come out. Already had this place once before and didn't want to return, came back, bad. Sausage wasn't even flavorful. Then later the waitress told us she was overwhelmed because she didn't expect all the people. Umm... we don't care? Literally didn't ask and like, why are you telling us, we were nice to you and we don't care. Like, it's Father's Day, what did you expect? Our first visit since the old place closed. We ordered salads and pizza, with a cannoli for dessert. They were very accommodating when we asked if we could get half and half on the pizza. Generous toppings and perfect crust. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We will definitely be back! read more

This is maybe not authentic Italian food? The bread is really Amazing, fresh and hot served with butter. The house salad is average, but all of the vegetables are really fresh! My Caesar salad was good. The dressing was served on the side which I like so it is not soaked! The tea was fresh. The service very prompt, polite and professional! The main course not so great. The shrimp was cooked well and taste great but the Alfredo pasta it was served on taste much like something you might mix from a powder?? Like hamburger helper. The Salmon was over cooked making it a little chewy and would have been a lot better had it not been drown by the sauce! My entire plate looked like they poured soup over it. A prefer to taste every food on my plate, pasta, veggies, meat... but this was all drenched in a sauce that has a weird after taste. I might try the pizza here next time or perhaps the calzone but I definitely will not order salmon again! The cost was fair for the type of establishment. They have a bar which I assume they will eventually serve alcohol; however they have not yet obtained their liquor license. Again the service is great but the food is maybe average. read more

Best Italian food in town, ok it's the only Italian food in town. Still good though. We like there Livingston location as well.

The food and service are always excellent! They are very kind people with a heart to serve. Everything I've eaten there has been amazing, but the pesto with the bread is an absolute can't miss! I recommend the ribeye, lobster ravioli, chicken piccata, manicotti, and any of the pizzas! read more

As far as Italian goes, it's okay. As far as bay city goes....it's a 5/5. The pizza is good. Best in town by far. Probably the best restaurant in bay city. No liquor license though. So no wine with Italian, which is almost sacrilegious. If it wasn't for that I'd give it a 4/5. read more

I ordered a large pizza and an order of cannolis through door dash. I received the pizza but no cannolis. I called them to try and figure out the issue. They told me to keep the pizza and request a full refund for the order, and then they still offered me credit for my next order. Not only was the customer service wonderful, the pizza was absolutely incredible. I will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

We stopped by Joe's for dinner last evening with some friends. Our friends are born and raised in the area and were familiar with the Joe's in Victoria. We are newish (about a year) to the area (Matagorda) and default to them for our dining experiences. Most of the time we steer clear of Bay City and venture to some of the smaller towns to eat. Boy are we glad Joe's made the cut it Bay City. It is a small family run italian restaraunt and it was amazing. The food, service and atmosphere were spot on. We had the pasta trio (lasagna, manicotti and canaloni), veal piccata and a Margarita pizza. The dinners came with fresh from the oven HOT bread and a salad. We ended the dinner with the homemade tarramisu. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. read more
