This is my transmission. When I decided not to have them replace it, they put my transmission on the back seat and gave me my car back. It was there 2 weeks and he kept saying they were putting it back together and I would be notified when I can pick it up. I was charged 612.00 and had to pay this before they would release my car to be towed. My car was there 2 weeks and now it has grease and some other substance stuck on it. They didn't have the decency to try to put it back together and put it back where they got it from. On top of that I wasn't even notified that they weren't putting it back together. read more

Paid this shop to rebuild transmission for 2007 Toyota Tundra on October 18, 2022. Within a month began having issues with the trans not operating properly and making weird noises. Called Joe after this didn't improve and he had truck towed back to the shop for inspection. I was also worried it was leaking as there was "oil" in my driveway. He informed that I had an oil leak and that the trans was fine and that I had to pay him back for the towing which I did. It was true that I had an oil leak but the trans never stopped acting strange and started giving me more issues recently (end of April 2023). It finally got the point where it would not go in reverse and would not shift into upper gears. On Saturday May 13th and friend of mine crawled under the truck and saw a very large leak ocuring around the entire trans oil pan. We then checked the bolts for tightness and none of them were more than hand tight. We took it to Kwik Kar to get fluid put in the transmission because we figured it was low. The following Monday, the 14th, we took it back to Joe. He agreed there were issues with it and that it was leaking but refused to honor his warranty and repair the truck properly. I will be suing him in court. I want me entire $4730.56 paid to him refunded to me immediately. read more

I am happy with Joe' s Pit Shop not only did they do a great job installing a newer engine/motor in my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer they also helped me with payment options. It's a shame I did not know there were financing options for auto repair such as engine repair. I am so satisfied with Joe's Pit Shop I will be allowing them to repair and do maintenence on all my vehicles. read more

These people will rip you off. They tried to charge me $2000 to fix my ac and add a floater to my fuel tank. They removed my gas line and gave my back the car without any indication and then they tried to charge me $100 just for looking at it. This place isn't a reputable business. We have spent nearly $4500 to fix transmission issues and have been back 4 times asking them to fix the same problem. And it's not fixed! And they created other problems with the vehicle that did not exist before bringing it to them. We're not done with them yet and intend to pursue every legal avenue possible to get our money refunded since they refuse to refund our money. They definitely take advantage of females too. My 17 year old son worked for months to save up $1300 to get work done on his truck's transmission. My son paid this amount in full to an employee of Joe's Pit Stop named Chris, who the owner said has since "disappeared" with my son's money. Now this owner is trying to hold my son's vehicle until he pays $1350 MORE because he's claiming he's not responsible for the money being stolen since the money was paid to his employee at the store rather than directly to him. This place stole from a 17 year old and they are now holding his truck hostage until he pays DOUBLE the agreed upon amount. They are immoral con artists, and I would strongly recommend taking your vehicle to anyone else besides them. Their ratings on their website are also fake; look at the REAL reviews on other sites to see what kind of degenerates you'd be working with if you trusted them with your vehicle and hard earned money. The owner even admitted on a recording we have that my son paid his employee for services, but says he's been to court for these same issues before, and that he would win if we were to sue them. This place is atrocious I originally took my G37 up there to get a new engine put in which took 2 weeks more than it supposed to. Then when I got my car back my hood wouldn't unlatch on the passenger side which wasn't a problem before hand, and I later found out I had a coolant leak, also my check engine light came on the morning after I got it back. So I bought new hood struts,latches (both passenger and driver side) and release cable just to fix the hood problem. So I took my car back up to the shop to tell him the problems I was having this time and he wanted to charge me for doing so since it would cost him labor hours when 1. My hood open and closed fine before it got there. And 2. It didn't have a coolant leak either before I took it up there. And when I got my car back again the check engine light was still on also they broke one of my connectors that's between the passenger side intake and above the alternator also on my serpentine belt isn't even on properly one of the gears it rotates on is crooked and also squeaking bc it's rubbing on something and I still have a coolant leak. Moral of the story is every time I've taken my car up there and got it back I've had nothing but problems bc they did a half ass job working on my car the only good thing that came out of this was he didn't charge me for fixing my hood which still cost me $436 in parts. read more

Today is Tuesday June 29,2021 three weeks ago my sister car would not start while she was out running and errand to pick up medication for her husband. It was one of those afternoons when the temperature had begun to peak. My sister who is not well herself and should not be exposed to direct sunlight because of her medication was stranded and no knight on a white horse came to rescue her. After I received the phone call, I reacted without hesitation to rescue this precious damsel in distress. When I arrived, I was able to start the car and get her home safely. After arriving home, the car stopped again and failed to start. During Today is Tuesday June 29,2021 three weeks ago my sister car would not start while she was out running and errand to pick up medication for her husband. It was one of those afternoons when the temperature all the fluster she mentioned that she had Car shield Automotive Warranty Coverage and there should not be any problems. My first step was to locate a towing service and find a mechanic shop that accepted this wonderful Car Shield plan that I hear about every fifteen minutes on TV and radio. During my internet research I was able make contact with Joe's Pit Shop. I called and explained the issues and discussed this wonderful warranty plan and we both agreed that the car can be towed in, or they can pick it up. After getting the car to Joe's we were greeted by this tall stature of a man who introduced himself as Joe. My sister who is very detailed began to explain the issue of what was wrong while Joe stood patiently and listed while making notes. After she finished Joe should have taken a break, but he began to get her contact information and all the warrant information about Car Shield. After a couple of days passed My sister had not been contacted by Joe's or Car Shield. After a week she called Joes and was told that the car needed a starter, and some other mechanical issues and Car Shield would need to come and inspect the diagnosis. After two weeks the CAR SHIELD INSPECTOR had not been to the shop. To fast-forward there were several calls to Joe's and Car shield to discuss the repairs and what would be covered by the CAR SHIELD PROTECTION PLAN, the end result is CAR SHIELD, would not approved the diagnostics and my sister has been without transportation and a car rental for over three weeks, During this time her husband health has continue to decline and required hospitalization, rehab, Doctors and appointments for them both and as of today 06/29/2021 a readmittance to the hospital that required a 911 call for transport . I have made myself available and changed my schedule to be there for her to assist with Drugstore pickups, grocery shopping and doctor's appointments for both of them, To summarize this situation the repairs are too expensive for my sister due to other needs at this time and the CAR SHIELD plan has proven to be unworthy of all the claims they advertise. Today when we returned to Joes Pit Shop to remove the car to make other decisions Joes Pit Shop agreed to repair the car for my sister Patricia Green. I would like to extend a Thank you to Joe's Pit Shop on Cooper in Arlington for their support during this ordeal and compassion for my sister and her situation. The unsolicited support touched me and gave my sister the most joy she has had during the last thirty days. I believe that blessing come to those that earn them and compassion is a practice that we all should bestow on others. Posting review for my husband who doesn't have a yelp! highly suggest you DO NOT use these people! We had our truck brought in to be looked at to get a second opinion and at first the mechanic said the truck was great that we just need some minor things fixed. He then calls a few days later saying there is metal all through the transmission, which is off because the previous mechanic would have noticed that. I asked him if just getting another transmission would be cheaper than paying $4000 which is what he was charging for a rebuild. The mechanic stated that it would be cheaper that way. He offered me finance options but I did not want to get involved in that and told him I'd just find another transmission. I found a transmission got $1200 and call him to let him know and he states he already rebuilt the transmission and did a bunch of other repairs that I did not authorize him to do and now the bill is $6500! Why in the hell would you complete work on a truck without authorization and increase the price for your customer when we already stated $4000 was too much!! These people are ripping people off and I can see it's obviously a trend. My wife called this morning to get the original receipts for thr part as well as we asking for the old parts as well. I'm sitting right there and he starts yelling at her, " we don't give that out, y'all need to come pick that truck up before we take it from you." And hung up in her face. She called back asking him again for the receipts so we could follow the proper procedures in filing suite and he yelled at her again and hung up in her face. She called a third time asking for the owner and he said, "look I'm not fina argue with no niggers all day, someone will call you" I have NEVER received such bad service! And the sad part is, had they be ethical and treated us right they would have had lifetime customers, we run a business and all we use are big box trucks! I had 3 more trucks I wanted them to service if ever needed. You don't do people like this, especially when times are like they are. Do not go to this people! They are racist and unprofessional! Luckily I've recorded every conversation with them so when we go to court I have proof! I don't believe any of these 5star reviews are actually legit. I thought I was faced with scrapping a classic and somewhat rare sports car until I called Joe's Pit Stop in Arlington. The car had fatal symptoms of a blown head gasket: coolant on the ground, white smoke from tailpipe and under hood, low oil pressure and high temperature. So, I called Joe's to discuss repair or even replacing engine and spoke with the manager. I called him back the next day and he had already found an engine that could be shipped and installed. While further describing my car's symptoms, I happened to mention the heater wasn't even working. Right away he asked me about my cooling system. I told him I had recently changed the coolant. He asked if I had removed the air (burped) from the system. I hadn't. I then did as he suggested and, to my shock and surprise, the car was running like new with no symptoms whatsoever. Bottom line, I've been looking for an honest mechanic in Arlington lately who doesn't overcharge, knows his trade and delivers on time. That's been hard for me to find lately. But my next automotive repair job will go to Joe's Pit Stop. read more

My daughter paid $3500 to have her transmission rebuilt on her 2004 Acura. A few months later, she began to have issues with the vehicle and took it back to Joe's. They agreed to fix it since it was still under warranty. That was over a month ago! Since then they have given her the run around, week after week they said they had to wait on a part, then it was the person working on it had left for the day, if it wasn't one excuse it was another. My husband had to finally get involved today because our daughter has been using uber to get to work and run her errands. The owner, Joe was completely dismissive and unprofessional. Truth be told, any mechanic with some integrity would have told their customer that the car wasn't worth 3500 much less pay to have a transmission rebuilt. Why not offer her a new one - it would have cost her less. They don't care, they just saw an opportunity to take advantage of a young woman. read more

I've never done a Yelp review before but these guys were so awesome that I needed to do this! They helped me out with some major issues and went above and beyond to provide good service. I compared prices and they had the lowest cost per hr and lowest hrs of estimated work needed for the repair in Irving (I needed a rear main seal replaced and a few other issues). They were also very compassionate - I'm a single mom and was in a pinch for transport, they helped get me and my daughter home when we had to come in during somewhat of an emergency. I don't doubt that this establishment does great work in fixing vehicles I have read the reviews. It's when you choose not to have this business to do the repairs that a problem arises. In January my niece and I brought her vehicle here for repair. The cost to open up the transmission and diagnose the problem was $395.00, they tried to charge $420.00 throwing in the use of paper mats and rags. To fix the transmission was going to cost more than what the car was worth so we opted to pick up the car and sale it to recoup some my nieces money. Well Joe offered us $250.00 plus the title and my niece declined the offer. She was then told to have the car removed or get it towed by February 2. We rented a tow dolly and rolled the car onto it, not realizing that the bolt to the stabilizer arm had been left off. The transmission and all its parts as well as the bolt that connects the stabilizer to the front driver side tire were placed into the hatchback area of the car. We had to call a tow truck to remove the vehicle off the tow dolly because the driver side tire had nothing holding it in place and we didn't want to cause more damage. If the mechanic didn't think they were at fault, why did he want to know where the car was located so he could come look at it? Just to remove the car off the tow dolly and into a parking spot less than 6 feet away, $122.00. I called Joe's Pit Stop and explained the situation and was told I would not be reimbursed for the tow truck because we should have used a flat bed tow truck and even though this problem was caused by his mechanics he refuses to make things right. I want the public to be aware of what can possibly happen when you don't want to use their services, how they throw your parts into the trunk and demand you to pick up your vehicle not caring whether they put it back together or not.
