The food took FOREVER to arrive. I ordered a salad with ranch dressing but I wanted my ranch on he side because I didn't want as much ranch as most restaurants put on their salads. The waiter and the manager or owner literally had an argument right in front of me over the manager wanting to charge me for the ranch on the side. The manager made the waiter charge me 75 cents to have my ranch in the side. Wow! When our food finally came my calzone was so burnt on the bottom I couldn't even cut it. Skip this place! read more

The only thing I don't care for is relying on customers to wipe off the tables when they are finished. Someone should come through and make sure the tables are clean. Otherwise, great little place. The food is pretty good, I will never doubt that. The thing I have a problem with is the lack of good customer service. On several occasions, the wait was close to an hour and thet weren't even busy. My most recent experience was the worst though. I showed up at the pick up time to get my pizza and I saw one of the workers putting some more cheese and olives on my pizza, which is okay. What is not okay is the guy putting my pizza in the oven, playing on his phone, and someone else having to pull the pizza out. It was extremely burnt and they had to make another. No apologies, no offers for refunds or coupons or anything. They didn't even tell me they had to remake the pizza until 10 minutes after they started remaking it. read more

My husband loves pizzerias and he agreed this was the worst italian food we have ever eaten. The veal parmesan was terrible. The service was terrible. We will never eat there again. Calzone was so over cooked you couldn't stab it with a fork. Ok so maybe we caught them on a bad day.......asked for the salad dressing on the side of a house salad (restaurants seem to always put on too much) the owner openly and directly in front of us told the server to charge an extra 50 cents. The server said "huh"? The owner insisted he charge us the 50 cents. Stupid policy but maybe he's watching his bottom line and "on the side" costs an extra 50 cents. Strange but not unforgivable. Owner being a complete jerk in front of paying customers......totally and completely unnecessary even on a bad day. It wouldn't matter if this were the best pizza in the world, and it's not, Joe will NEVER see another dime from me. Good service and polite behavior are not hard. Their pizza is great if not greasy as all get out. Their eggplant parm is pretty decent as well, no real complaints about food. No customer service what so ever is evident unless they are ready to get paid. We called in our order 30 minutes early and still had to wait another 20. I imagine they are lovely people but you can never tell because they are so busy. I think a little appreciation or a hello or something might go a long way. Honestly if I could give this place zero stars I would. The worst service ever. We've visited multiple times and every time it's been horrible. This last we called in a pizza and they told us "it's going to be a half hour so my wife left to go get it a half hour later and they said oh we never put in your, it's going to be another half hour." I was not impressed. We ordered a large pizza. Half Pepperoni. Half Sausage. I immediately was turned off when the guys in there stared embarrassingly at my 17 year old daughter and spoke what sounded to be Albanian about whatever they were thinking. (I am sure it is best I did not understand) We left there paying about $17 as memory serves me. I was told the additional fee was because we split the toppings. Granted, this was a huge pizza. Introduced to this restaurant by a co worker after tasting his Chicken Murphy (which was absolutely amazing). I tried the Chicken Marsala and was not disappointed. It was absolutely delicious! Received a LOT for the amount paid (less than $10 after tax): 4 garlic rolls b/c I don't eat salad (usually 2 rolls 1 salad) and huge platter of pasta w/plenty of meat (easily eaten on twice or filling for 2 people). I called to make sure they were open on a Sunday. The woman answering the phone didn't speak English as her native language (Albanian) and was difficult to understand and didn't understand me. When we arrived the only woman behind the counter (I'm assuming the same woman) didn't greet us, suggest anything, or even smile. We ordered and my husband and I each got a dinner salad with our meals. His had a tomato, onions and cabbage in it. Mine was all lettuce with a small sprig of cabbage here and there...disappointing. None of the three of us ate all of our food. Other than the garlic rolls, the spaghetti and the baked ziti had so much cheese you couldn't taste anything else. One of the best places for pizzaria style pizza in Abilene. Their pastas are great as well, I'd recommend the Chicken Murphy on the lunch special. That being said, Joe's Pizza here in Abilene is as close as I can get to that style of establishment and they do a fantastic job at it. Best pizza in Abilene...period.
