We got Joe's pizza for dinner while visiting the area. We got thick crust pizza with pepperoni and hot honey and it was delicious. We also got the garlic breadsticks with pasta sauce (based on recommendation or breadsticks vs garlic bread) and loved them. We ordered at the counter for a to-go order and it was ready quickly. I went here and ordered a pasta dish and made it clear no cheese due to dairy allergy. After waiting for 30 minutes, which i knew it would take about that much time to prepare it, it was brought to me with cheese. This place is small...they have about 10 tables, & we unknowingly walked in with a large group of 18 at lunch on a Saturday. The one waitress was incredibly nice & got our orders in quickly. The food came quickly and tasted very good. We had pizza, salad, & garlic breadsticks. I would highly recommend this place! read more

Having eaten at their Effingham location, I was excited to see that Joe's Pizza was coming to Vandalia. I checked out the Vandalia location for the first time tonight. The food was great and reasonably priced as always...but the location was absolutely dreadful. If you're getting takeout, there's really nothing wrong with it. It's a bit crowded even to walk through the restaurant to get to the cash register, but once you make it out the door, you'll be fine. On the other hand, if you're eating in, prepare to be miserable. The restaurant is housed in the old Subway/Quiznos location and it is far too small for what they're trying to do. You can't put a good, fairly-priced restaurant in a town like Vandalia and expect to get by with that amount of space. The decor leaves much to be desired, too, but you barely notice when you're packed in like sardines. If you can go when it's not busy or you can get takeout, do it! Otherwise, be warned :) read more

At 7:40 pm I called asking about my order, said there delivery driver got stopped, but another driver was heading out with my order at that time. 20 minutes later I call again, after 2 hrs I still had no sandwich. Where do I begin!! First off the employees are very rude and ignorant. I had to sit in the restaurant for over 15 mins while they were all outside in the back smoking. The food was extremely mediocre for the price which was way over priced!!! Also we did not receive our bread sticks that was supposed to come with the meals!!! They brushed it off and rolled their eyes at us and went to the back to do god knows what. I feel bad for whoever has even spent a cent at this place, including myself! I am currently on my way to Ohio from Saint Louis and decided to try a local establishment. The restaurant is clean, with a great aroma, and it was a good small town atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was not as desirable as the atmosphere. We tried the breadsticks that came with pizza and cheese dipping sauce and a thick crust pizza. The best way to describe their food is to compare it to DiGiorno or make your own pizza at home kits. Very bland. The service was good and friendly. read more

My family has now eaten here about 3 times and we have not had a bad experience here. We have not been in when it was very busy ... maybe 3 other tables had people at them....but we would be unaware of any to go orders they may be working on. However the service was what you'd expect. We haven't felt ignored. Several reviews mentioned the rude staff. We were hesitant to go there at first due to the reviews but decided to make up our own minds. We have had waitresses who have greated us and taken our drink orders within a minute of sitting down. Our order was taken within 5 minutes. The bathrooms were clean. The food was good as it always has been. I read the poor reviews and I'm not seeing it. Maybe there has been a change in staff since those poor reviews. I'd recommend giving it a shot. read more

We stopped at Joe's on our way through town. The service was excellent and food was pretty good. They feature all-you-can-eat salad, breadsticks, spaghetti, and soda on Thursdays. The price for four was just a little over $16.00! The bread was amazing, salad and spaghetti were good. The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, but that's personal preference, and it didn't keep me from stuffing myself! Overall, this is a great place to grab a bite to eat! read more

I love Joes! Their stuffed pizza with sauce on top is delish as well as their regular pizzas. The sauce is a little sweet and garlicky which is why I love it. They always have specials going on which is nice too. Baked tortellini with meat sauce is one of my favorites. Try it and you won't be disappointed! read more

My wife and I went to Joe's pizza because they had listed all you can eat spaghetti on Thursday. The waitress said we were the first of the afternoon to have the all you can eat spaghetti when she brought it out she said they didn't have the spaghetti sauce ready and use thier back up sauce which was pizza sauce or the sauce you dip your bread sticks in this is the second poor meal in this restaurant have not heard back from the first complaint read more

If I give no stars, I would. The people working here are a joke. Service is beyond terrible. They are extremely immature and told me they spit on my food after I asked for Parmesan twice and they refused to give me any. They told me to me to "shut my trap" and that they told me they spit on my food. Please don't buy food from these children, it's hard to imagine them graduating middle school. I ordered eggplant parm, fried ravioli, Italian sausage links, and 2 cannoli's... delivery was received in a timely manner. eggplant (2 thin pieces) placed on a pile of spaghetti covered with melty cheese and delicious sauce. what??? no fried ravioli? 2- 3 inch pieces of tasty sausage swimming in a spicy sauce. cannoli to die for. Meal could have been improved if......eggplant was thicker, ravioli would have arrived without having to call back to indicate it was absent, a plastic knife had been included to cut the parm and sausage, and a napkin or two to wipe drooling sauce off my face...and powdered sugar off my cannoli fingers. Lookie here business owner...that nice young woman taking the order didn't screw up. Nor did the new kid on the block...trying to make gas money hampered by a barely visible printed receipt stapled right in the middle of "Fried Ravioli". Only better management and training would have made a 3 star meal, a 5-star knockout! read more

Joe's in Vandalia is my favorite pizza/pasta place. It has great pizza, pasta and bread. The price is so reasonable. I can't feed my family of five much cheaper anywhere else. It is a little small in there but they always seem to fit our big family in. We love Joe's! read more
