We came down to Vineland for my kid's baseball game. One of the parents told us about this place- "best potato salad ever." So of course we had to stop by. The rotisserie chicken was really tasty. Their potato salad lived up to its reputation. I also loved their deviled egg and chicken salad. After our friend tried it, he went in to buy some. And my kid loved their ambrosia. Chicken was good, breast just a little dry but the thigh and drumstick were juicy fall of the bone. Potatoes had consistency between mashed and potato salad which was actually really tasty. Although I'm not a cole slaw fan, I appreciated that it wasn't swimming in mayo. Service was quick and friendly, clean inside and out. Joe's started as a shack, literally, in which a little old lady and a helper sold delicious roaster chickens and some sides like potato salad and macaroni salad. While it was a shack it was spotlessly clean. When the last chicken was sold they closed up for the day. A few years it was purchased by some young businessmen who tore down the shack and put up a beautiful, modern takeout building true to the original theme. They still have roaster chicken and a few sides but what they do they do very well. The chicken is always delicious, tender and flavorful. I love potato salad and they have the best I've ever had. This is the place to be! I come to Vineland on business. And I have to say, good restaurants is pretty sparse in this town. However, this place was excellent. Country picnic style food, fresh rotisserie roasted chicken with good hearty sides like Mac n Cheese, Beans, Potato or Pasta Salad, even Fresh green salad. I the chicken is fresh and I think they also raise their own chickens. They sell fresh eggs there too, so they must. They sell rotisserie chicken, potato salad and cole slaw. I got the chicken and huge tub of potato salad as recommend by others. The chicken. Ok. Slightly dry and reminiscent of any grocery store chicken. The potato salad looked promising with shredded carrots and other green specks but was pretty bland. Salt and pepper make this a pretty good salad but not the best ever as others stated. Overall ok for a quick family dinner but not worth the trip off the highway. Maybe my city roots are just used to higher quality as these country folk nearby don't get too much culinary versatility. Ohh well. Live and learn. read more

This is always my #1 choice when I want to eat a home-cooked meal AT home but I don't want to have to be the one cooking it! i just pick up a chicken, a LARGE potato salad (of course), coleslaw & either rolls or an Italian bread and voila! I'm the hero at my house! Sometimes, I'll pick up some ambrosia, too. I love the ambrosia but my kids don't like it because of the coconut shreds(texture issues). The food is pricey but that's never stopped me from going back-totally worth it! Oh, and by the way, they make great lunch plates too-it includes chicken, potato salad, a roll and even some apple sauce. They're open everyday except Mondays. read more
