Waffly review, even though they don't serve waffles here. We had lunch here today because a deli seemed like a good idea and Yelp liked it better than another place I won't mention (but nearby, as a hint). This is a corner store in appearance, except it's actually a deli. With a wide selection of meats. And a unique selection of sandwiches. You can start with one of their basics and build your own, or go with one of their customs... and still build your own because this place will put anything on any bread they have. I went simple with their Sipala La La to see how spicy it was. Decently spicy, a reasonably full size sandwich for what they call "half size" though relatively not full of meat compared to some places. But they said 9 oz, and I'm assuming they did that (at least precooked weight), though this was mixed with hot peppers and a minimal coating of cheese tying it together. Tasty and filled me up. What has earned the 4th star on this reviewaffle is the fact they were selling antipasti for $1.99/lb as a special. I paid just over a dollar for a heaping portion of cold meats and cheeses cut up together. Wow. THAT was an amazing offer. I imagine it's something different each day, but ya know what? You wanna offer amazing deals here and there, that earns some gratitude from the customer. So I can happily say customers will find their satisfaction at Sugar Hill. P.S. Order ahead. It was a 20 minute wait (give or take) for my order, for them to heat it all up and prepare the sub. Sugar Hill has the best subs, in my opinion! I've been coming here since I was a child, and anytime my grandpa comes home from NJ, he brings home subs for us. We always look forward to it! Most of my family orders some variation of an Italian sub, but I personally go for the cheesesteak! Turkey and cheese with all of the fixings is a great option too. These subs are huge and the sub roll is the best! You can easily get 2-4 meals from a sub, depending on your appetite. Sugar Hill also has great breakfast! While I prefer their cold subs, the cheesesteaks are not bad, either. Service is friendly and the prices are competitive. They stuff the subs with meat, cheeses and the various accompaniments, as well. I first found this taking the backroads on my motorcycle from Philadelphia to Ocean City one idyllic day and was impressed with my lunch. As a recommendation, I would say that the Italian Stallion is a great choice. Peppered ham, prosciutto, Genoa salami and provolone with the usual lettuce, tomatoes and onions with oil and vinegar make for a great sandwich (though I do have them hold the tomatoes on mine). I love being on jobs in mays landing area just for them. So sad to write this, we have ordered here for years, but yesterday was horrible. I placed the order there, and was still waiting 50 minutes later for 2 subs. The guy with a black shirt and black hair did nothing but complain about being there on his day off, and kept putting everyone on hold, that called in to order. There was a "Karen " that complained that her order was completely wrong and wanted a refund, they remade her order and was still wrong and made again. They finally found my order and placed it in a bag, I paid for extra peppers on the side, and they threw 2 in the bag and handed it to me.
