Jims makes the best cheeseburgers I ever had! I think it's the secret sauce they use. Every time i went there everything i got was delicious. I haven't been there in probably 20 years but i still remember the taste of those double cheeseburgers with everything. It's usually pretty packed, for obvious reasons. I believe they are only open about 6 months of the year; opening around the time of the high school football season to start and closing when it gets to be warmer weather. So we looked on Yelp and it doesn't say it's closed down. Looked on Facebook their page. Doesn't say it's closed. Google says it's open today. We went. It's closed. Called the number - disconnected. If this place is out of business it would be nice if they posted that on Facebook. Or their website. Or somewhere. But it's pretty crappy for people like us to drive all the way down here and find it closed with no explanation or notice anywhere. read more

Went here on a quick lunch stop. It was packed as always and for good reason. You can't beat the food and prices. I ordered the cheese burger with everything (onions, mustard and sauce) and cheese fries. My co worker ordered a cheeseburger, hotdog and onion rings. As always, it tasted great. Words like "awesome, unbelievable, great," don't really do Jim's Lunch justice because it's a very modest, down-to-earth establishment. However, Jim's Lunch has such a long history and deep roots in the community, you definitely feel warm and fuzzy when you go there. It reminded both of us of Attman's Deli in Baltimore, to give you a comparison. We heard about Jim's Lunch in the Press of Atlantic City. We had read that they were closed for a bit because the building next door was being torn down. Turns out that they were able to reopen the luncheonette for the residents of Millville to enjoy further. Visiting the place, you almost feel as if you are in a small town in Missouri or Kansas. On the days she was spent she sent Dad to go get a bag full of hot dogs and hamburgers for diner from Jim's. Mom was a great cook but Jim's for dinner was a special treat. It's know for a tiny burger on a sub roll, you have to get special sauce, mustard, and onion. They have specials most days of the week but who cares!? I'm here for the burgers. Jim's Lunch is a Millville Institution. I REALLY only wanna give it two stars, but I'm afraid I might be run out of town on a rail by the locals if I don't find something positive to say about Jim's. A lot of people around here really love this place. They do a brisk enough business that they close for 4 months every summer for vacation! They are famous for their small hamburgers which they serve with this (weird) chili sauce in a brown bag. They also have their daily specials, like meatloaf or liver and onions (gack!). The thing is, their specials aren't cheap! They run between 8 and 11 dollars, which I don't think is appropriate given the lack of ambiance. To me, Jim's is a under $10 kinda place, for food, drink, tax and tip. I just can't see dumping $15 dollars in what is essentially a dump. This place is totally frozen in time, but in a way I don't appreciate. It's hot, greasy, cramped and badly in need of updating. But it is timeless in a way that some people, especially older men, find charming. It's always jammed with people and there is literally NO PLACE to wait... you just stand by the front door and get glared at by every diner or server whose path you obstruct. At dinner time, especially the first week they reopen, it's common the see the line snaking out onto the sidewalk. I really don't get what I'm missing! I'm a veggie lover- were it not for my love of pork and pork byproducts, I'd probably be a vegetarian again, so that probably accounts for part of my bias. I am not a meat lover at all and Jim's is a greasy meat and fries kinda joint. You can watch the head fry cook do his thing in the big window that overlooks Main Street, so that's kinda cool. They've been in business since 1923, so obviously they're doing something right. If someone else can review this place and explain what I'm missing, I'd be much obliged. Cash only. read more

Local luncheonette that serves homemade food. I had their Saturday prime rib with 2 side, bread and a soda for less than $20. It was VERY GOOD. Take out only during covid but that not a problem. Their soups and burgers are very good too Nothing fancy, but good food and service. read more

Although I've eaten their burgers and specials for most of my adult life, I'm 65, we've decided we're not eating their anymore. Service is sometimes almost rude. The food is really just mediocre dinner food. We waited 45 mins the last time we were there for takeout, and several/many people who came in after us got there stuff and were gone before we got ours. My burgers sat on the warming tray/shelf for quite a while before our food came, I saw them grab them before they called us, and the waitress saw I was getting annoyed (we're not regulars, which I guess is important), but as I said I stood there for 45 mins like a dope. The regulars frown at you like you have eels coming out of your ears. It's been two or three whole winters (they're closed in the Summer)since we've been there, and we're done with them. read more

Not the same!!! Burgers are too big now and all I hear are ppl complaining. The turkey platter has been a favorite FOREVER, now the turkey is dead dry, mash isn't the same and the gravy is just yellow creamy substance with No flavor, not even chicken. The meat and cheese salad was phenomenal with their homemade Greek dressing, they don't make the dressing any longer. That made the whole salad! Chicken croquettes had more salt than the ocean and were not edible. Bring back the old guard and get things back to what they should be. We decided to check out Jim's on our way home from Wheaton Village, it was worth the stop. It is a low key local place with pleasant staff, good food and exceptionally reasonable prices. It is cash only tho they do have an atm fyi. If you go and are inclined for a burger, ask for the Everything as mentioned on the menu. Jim's Lunch is one of those classic small town eateries that exist all around the world but of course aren't a part of a chain. Each one is different and has its own charms. Jim's Lunch in Millville has been in business for over 90 years and is everything you want in a well-run local restaurant. It has both counter and booth seating and whichever you choose you will be efficiently served by a very friendly waitress. Now for the food which is the primary reason you are here. My favorite items were the creamy mac 'n cheese which is only served on Fridays and Saturdays ... and the Texas Weiner with cheese and Jim's special sauce. The hamburger also with Jim's special sauce was okay and the oyster stew with Old Trenton Crackers is made in the traditional way. Prices are very fair and you shouldn't go away hungry from here. A couple of added notes. Jim's Lunch is closed every year from Memorial Day to Columbus Day so that the hard-working owners and employees can enjoy their summers. It is also closed on Sundays. And the most interesting fact is that Millville's own MVP baseball player Mike Trout has been known to frequently pop in here to eat or take-out. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Place is always packed and for good reason, don't worry you'll get a seat pretty quick. Stopped by Jim's Lunch on a recent trip to visit family in Jersey. For years I have been hearing great things about this place, but the timing never matched up. This was my first opportunity to check it out. Jim's lunch is the quintessential small-town eatery. The woman behind the counter, Nicole, greeted everyone who came in by first name. You can tell right away this place has been a go-to establishment in the community for many years. Knowing this was my first time, she asked my name and even shook my hand! She then proceeded to walk me through the menu. They do not accept credit/debit, but they do have an ATM on site with a low fee ($1.50, I believe). I ordered a bunch of cheeseburgers (singles & doubles) w/ everything (which includes an awesome "special sauce"), hot dog with everything, an order of fries, side of succotash, and a grilled cheese for my toddler. Nicole even drew a smiley face on the wrapper of his sandwich, nice touch! While waiting for my take-out, I took notice of all the food being delivered to tables. Everything looked amazing (especially the cheese-steaks!), and you could tell everything this place serves is home-made. Everything we ordered was delicious and hot. The rolls, special sauce, and toppings made these burgers one of the best I have ever had. My only wish was that we had ordered more! Jim's Lunch in the heart of Millville is not just any old restaurant or diner, it is a South Jersey institution. You may have heard of the famous baseball player, Mike Trout. He hails from Millville and now plays for the Anaheim Angels. He also loves Jim's Lunch and gets their hamburgers when he is back home or has his mom or sister pick them up for him. There is even a sign on the wall that says "#27 Mike Trout is our Angel on High Street". Mike loves Jim's Lunch and so do those from the Holly City. Jim's Lunch has been around for about 94 years and is still family-owned. I could tell during my most recent visit that was Rochelle was in charge and she was running the place. She called out the orders and kept all the other staff on their toes and the orders coming. The staff wears maroon shirts with the name written in cursive and the feel of Jim's is classic and like it stopped in time. The smells from the grill fill the establishment and the chatter and action adds character. As you enter the restaurant from High Street, you will see the patties and wieners on the grill loaded with cheese and the freshly cut chopped onions on the side. There is an old-fashioned register and they only take cash. If you need to get cash, there is an ATM inside. You seat yourself and can sit at the counter on one of the stools or grab a booth in the main room or back dining room. Rochelle did a great job too of coordinating and telling people where to sit when something opened up. I placed my order on the phone and waited a few minutes when I arrived. I enjoyed watching all of the action and cooking and yelling. Your burgers and sandwiches are served on piece of waxed deli paper and the sauce just runs all over the paper. I also like how the glass paper weights from nearby Wheaton Village hold the waxed paper in place on the counter as the beef is grilling. The sauce is the famous ingredient made from the family recipe and you can dip your food in it and enjoy it on the burgers and cheesesteaks and wieners. When you order wit "everything" , that means mustard, onions and the famous sauce. Jim's Lunch also serves breakfast and from my last visit a few years ago, the rice pudding was delicious. My cousins love their fries too and Jim's does it all right. If you in Millville , you have to come here at least once. The season is Columbus Day through Memorial Day and closed on Sunday. Millville locals honor the opening day as if it were a holiday and I can see why. Get your double cheeseburger wit sauce and fries and a bunch of napkins. You will love it. read more

I think it's nostalgia and good ole greasy dive food at it's finest but whatever. The people visiting and working are clearly cut from the same cloth. They are old fashion Americana. He ordered two cheeseburgers all the way (which in my eyes scream "processed patty, low quality white roll, artery closing grease") that he bit into with a smile. I've been coming to Millville occasionally for the past several months for business and I knew this place was the hot spot in town because I'm an Angels fan and know the history of Mike Trout in this town. I really liked the atmosphere of this small mom and pop shop that's been here forever. They serve breakfast but we caught them at the wrong hour. There's two main dining areas including counter seating. Lots of memorabilia related to Mike Trout. My co-worker had the double cheeseburger with mushrooms with the special sauce and I had the same but without the special sauce. We had an order of fries for the table which was barely enough even though it was suggested to us it would be plenty. Ladies and gents, I don't get it. I had no idea it was so bare bones and casual. To think I told my waitress I wanted the burger cooked medium-well was hysterical and I applaud her for not laughing at me. Our burgers were served on wax paper and arrived on hoagie rolls. The burgers were small and thin....White Castle thin. My co-worker and I both talked about where we wanted to go for lunch after. I actually enjoyed the fries. Not greasy. My co-worker didn't have nice words for the special sauce. Prices were very cheap but now I know why. There was a parking lot on the side of the building. Service was very friendly. Everything on the menu is delicious but 9/10 times I go in for their Cheeseburger "WITH EVERYTHING", their secret sauce is THE BEST.
