WOW!!! I have been driving by this place unbeknownst to me it has amazing hoagies. I wanted to try the turkey london broil but they were sold out. I went about 1:30 ish and quickly learned its best to order ahead and pickup. Lord of people waiting so I know it's gonna be good and I have patience for a good hoagie. This however is not good it is AMAZING! I ended up ordering the corned beef pastrami with everything and added provolone. A huge and heavy sandwich for $13. When I got home and unwrapped it I was smiling from ear to ear. First of all the way they package it shows the love they put in their hoagies. This was for sure gonna be half for lunch and half for dinner. They do offer smaller options. It was Packed with corned beef and pastrami(all boars head products) fresh lettuce, tomato hot and sweet peppers and pickles with a good amount of mayo. Oil and seasoning also. So so so good! I'll for sure be back to try the infamous turkey London broil and eat my way through the menu. So happy I live nearby! read more

I waited in a long line to order a hoagie. I was told it would take 20-30 minutes because they were busy and they would call me when it was ready. When 30 minutes came and went, I asked if it was ready and it was. I don't know how long it was sitting there. And it wasn't even that good. They shoukd have one person taking orders and someone else cashing people out. They should also just make you pay when you order rather than make you pay when you pick it up. The sandwiches are filling even without extra meat, the establishment is clean and well stocked , the staff is welcoming and the service is extremely thoughtful and the prices are worth it. I have stopped in here many times over the years but never checked in or posted a review because I was a long time friend of the previous owner. The quality of the food and the excellent service was outstanding then and continues to be now. I came today to get some steak sandwich meat which is the best your going to find anywhere. Got some of their Italian bean soup which is also delicious. I thought the breaded eggplant looked good and was not disappointed. It was light and grease free and made a great eggplant Parmesan base. I normally don't get eat lunch during the day. But today I needed something to give me so extra fuel. I decided to grab a Caesar Salad from this place. They were nice enough to add grilled mushrooms when I asked. I really enjoyed the home made croutons that came on the salad as well. I don't think this neighborhood deli gets the credit they deserve. The menu is packed full with wonderfully deli items both hot and cold. If your looking for a great meal, skip the the grease pits and crappy corner stores. And order something from here. I had a real craving for a hot roast pork. Yelp pointed me to Ferrante's. I had been there a bunch of times to buy meat (fyi, always great quality. Great service), but never had taken advantage of the deli and sandwiches. Shame on me, because this was THE hot roast pork I was looking for. I got mine with long hots and sharp provolone (it's the only way to go, convince me otherwise. G'head, try). Amazing. Delicious, huge sandwich served with a cup of gravy that you should dip the sandwich in prior to every bite. Not because the sandwich is dry, but because you are a flavor hedonist and want more pork goodness in every bite. So, I got 2 hot roast pork sandwiches, one for me and one for a buddy (He loved it. Loved it.) and I also got a chicken parm. Here's the the thing, I just spent a decent part of this review raving about the hot roast pork and how it's a great sandwich (and it really, really is) but what I'm gonna need you to do is save some room in your heart and stomach for this chicken parm. It was delicious. Cheesy, saucy chicken goodness. Amazing sandwich. I guess what I'm trying to say here, folks, is that Ferrante's has a whole menu of sandwiches. I had two off the hot side of the menu and I can't wait to invent an excuse to go back and see what kind of alchemy they can work with cold cuts. One word of advice, the word is out on this place and everyone wants these sandwiches. The smart move is to call ahead. Get your orders in 45-60 minutes early. This place is a hidden gem. I ordered the Italian Italian hoagie and was impressed even with the way it was carefully wrapped with sandwich paper and a double plastic wrap to enclose the insides from falling out and getting the bread soggy. The sandwich itself was incredible tasty. The meats used tasted fresh and were of high quality. The bread was also fresh and perfectly textured for a hoagie. Everyday, on my quest to find a good lunch, I walked up and down Haverford Avenue during the two weeks that I had training at a nearby business. Typically I would scoff at myself for spending money unnecessarily when I could've just brought lunch from home. The day I found Ferrante's, I decided to give myself a break. When I entered, three policemen were standing at the counter. I was a bit taken aback..but there was no trouble here. These men were buying lunch!! I stepped up when it was my turn and explained to the man at the counter that it was my 1st time, and I had no clue what to order. He made multiple suggestions and they all sounded great. But the one that really clicked was the Chicken Cutlet Italiano (total broccoli rabe nut over here- and theirs was superb!). It was made to perfection! It was also big enough to eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner. I'd like to go back and purchase some of their meats and other tasty selections that I saw in the store that day. I work in this area once or twice a month and can't believe I just discovered Ferrante's. In a strip of junk food and pizza places, Ferrantes is a beacon of great food. I got a small salad and added egg and olives. It had plentiful other ingredients that come standard for a fantastic ratio of toppings and fresh lettuce. The turkey wrap on spinach was probably one of the biggest wraps I've ever had. Plentiful helping of fresh, healthy turkey, which lacked the over salted deli turkey taste and feel you get at any run-of-the-mill lunch place. The prices are very reasonable and the people are exceptionally friendly and want you to have a quality food experience. I am glad I discovered Ferrantes and you should too. read more

The staff here are very friendly. It's a great place to pick up great quality deli meats and Italian goods without having to drive into the city. They have very tasty giant green olives. I picked up some prosciutto, olives, goat cheese, sausage, and pepper shooters for an Antipasto platter. All their ala cart items I had were very fresh. I stumbled across Ferrante's back in June of this year. I cannot say enough about this establishment! The food is "excellent," very fresh. The roast beef is cooked the way beef should be cooked; I am addicted to their roast beef! My second favorite is their roasted potatoes; just the right amount of seasoning! Their service is "impeccable!" The owners' Nick and Sharda, Robert and other staff are caring people, and they go far and beyond their duties! Receiving such service these days is unheard of! If you live anywhere near this place and buy your meat from the supermarket ....STOP! There is no comparison to the product you are used to and the products that you can get at Ferrante's. Do you think that restaurants buy there meat from the supermarket? Of course not, so why would you. We buy boneless chicken breasts every week and it is so good I would never purchase from anywhere else again. Beef products are also great. They grind the chuck when you order it if you want and it makes the best burgers ever . The guys behind the counter will help you anyway they can and even spice your meat if you like as well as give you cooking tips . They have quality meats, chicken cutlets rock. The pre made burgers and chip steaks are great as is the home made sausage. My favorite is their sandwiches, they make great take out sandwiches and hoagies with quality products at a reasonable price point. I have eaten almost everything on the menu is and it is all great, some favorites are Italian Chicken, any type of hoagie, club and BLT sandwiches.
