Stopped here after an excursion to the DMV in Elizabeth. First timers, so we just ordered a cheese pie. The owner was friendly as soon as we walked in and told us it would be about 8 minutes for the pizza- super fast! I would be surprised if he even crossed the minute mark before it was in the oven. Great conversation with the owner while we waited, and learned he had a spot near Asbury Park before moving here and opening this location. They do some cool things like "2 foot slices" (for those days you only want a slice lol). Countless specialty pies if you are in the mood for unique offerings. A large cheese pie is less than what you would pay at a chain- that's a huge win win- support local! After getting our hot pizza, my wife and I knew 2 bites in that we would be coming back. Great flavor on the sauce and quality cheese. They cook their pies half in the pan and half on the stone and the crust is almost airy with just the right amount of crunch at the end. We loved talking to Joe about his fav spots in NJ and NY- and he is a pretty humble owner that gives flowers to the spots that he thinks are doing it right. Will definitely be back! I saw Joe's on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives years ago. I finally got around to going in January, but the place was full and I had other plans so I didn't wind up eating there. Today I tried again with friends for lunch, and boy was the wait worth it! The meal advertised on Triple D was the Triple Threat Pie, so that's what we ordered. We got a meatball calzone and plain pizza. The pizza was just the right amount of greasy and the calzone was so cheesy and delicious. We also got an order of the Mac & Cheese Balls, which came with a nacho cheese-ish sauce. There were 3 balls in the order. They were so good! Joe's is a very small restaurant, so going off peak hours is probably the best idea. There was one man working while we were there and he was super nice. Joe's is really good, but mainly the Red Bank location. I would give the Red Bank location a 4.5 and the Roselle Park location about a 3. I've sat in and ordered out at the Red Bank location. I've gotten the thunder sticks, chicken wings, chicken parm sandwich, cheesesteak wrap, mac and cheese, and the penne Alfredo pizza. Everything was delicious, fresh, hot, and well seasoned. Service was good and this location was spacious. I ordered out from the Roselle one twice and it just missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. There was a lack of seasoning on many of the same items we ordered from the other location which had strong flavors of garlic, herbs, and salted butter. Could have just been two off days. Moving to the area I was looking for different food places. I had tried different establishments but I was not satisfied until I tried Joes. The customer service is always great. The food is fresh and always flavorful. I have to say I have never waited more than 30 mins since ordering from them. They make sure to go above and beyond. This place serves outrageous pizzas along with traditional Italian options and rotisserie chicken. The service was appreciated and the food was ready upon arrival as it was picked up. The prices were a little steep, but given the nature of their pizzas, it makes all the sense. The large triple threat ($26.50) was ordered. The triple threat consisted of garlic knots, a calzone, and a pizza all in one! It was not as messy as I thought it was going to be. There was an option for sausage or pepperoni on the pizza and the calzone. The sausage was chosen for both. The calzone was stuffed with cheeses and the sausage, surprisingly light. The garlic knots were soft and fluffy and the pizza was tasty as well. The sauce was the best part of the actual pizza, very light and appetizing. The Taylor ham and cheese pizza ($18.95) was also ordered. The Taylor ham was cut very thin and I was surprised how I did not taste it as much as I thought. Stopped here for dinner with 2 work proximity associates. I saw somewhere that this place made top ten union county pizza joints. On a normal night I can throw down a whole pie but I wanted to try the chicken because it not often a pizza place serves rotisserie chicken, which I am also able to to knock down. So, I recruited help. We shared the triple threat. The calzone was regular with ricotta and mozz cheese, half pepperoni/half fried mozz cheese with vodka sauce, and in-between were garlic knots. And I got half a chicken for myself. The vodka and fried mozz cheese pizza was really good. Better than the pepperoni side. The calzone was really good too. The chicken was just okay. It came with BBQ sauce but I think if it came with a chilli oil, hot sauce, or spicy salsa verde it would have elevated it more. This ain't no traditional Neapolitan or NY Famous $1 slice pizza. Just gonna leave the last statement as is. They close early, like around 8pm. No personal pies on weekend. Limited parking. I didn't want to chance it parking at Frenchy's. It's garlic knots, calzone and a pizza pie all in one . The place is on a very busy main road so you have to park On the side street. The staff was ok to deal with , look in a rush to get me out . The prices are extremely expensive. I paid 32 bucks for the pie . I felt I didn't get my money wroth on this pie . I was in here last week with four of my co-workers. Yes, we drove from Newark to Roselle Park simply because we heard great things about this place...and it did not disappoint. Now, this is not the kind of pizza I normally enjoy-I'm much more of a simple traditional NJ/NY pizza kind of guy. Normally I'm a plain or sausage or maybe a sausage and mushroom kind of guy, but this place screams for you to try their specials. Well, the place AND the owner scream at you to try the specials! When we walked in the owner jumped right in with a friendly greeting and started right in with explaining all the pies, and most importantly, the Mega-Slice pie. We were convinced to order the Mega-Slice, but also to each have a slice as it cooked. So we all started with slices-we tried the Chicken Parm, Sweet and Spicy Chipotle, and Plain slices and we also got garlic knots (that he threw in) and a chicken parm pinwheel. All absolutely awesome. I personally had the chicken parm slice and I'd get it again if I came back. I liked the Chipotle slice, but would never order it myself-just not my thing. Now, the Mega slice is a pizza that they shape into the shape of a giant slice. At the top where the crust is they have 6 giant pepperoni bread pinwheels and on top of the regular sauce and mozzarella they add a generous amount of Taylor Ham (or pork roll for those that don't live in North Jersey) and additional American Cheese slices. OMG this thing was ridiculous in its tasty goodness (though I shudder to consider the caloric and sodium intake for me that day). Their sauce was great-not too sweet and quite tasty and the crust was a little crispy, but TASTED awesome. For those who don't know what Taylor Ham or pork roll is I suggest coming to NJ as it's a breakfast staple here. This place is nowhere near where I live so it's not likely I'll be back anytime soon...however, another lunch trip might be needed with the crowd from work. The service was incredible (I suggest any first responders give this place a shot as they seemed to love the law enforcement crowd that came to eat there), the food was great, and the prices are reasonable. read more

I initially saw this establishment on an episode of "Food Paradise" (which I watched while on the exercise bike, which I do NOT recommend). I immediately knew that I needed to add this to our list for our next New Jersey trip. Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience! The location in Roselle Park is definitely more suited for takeout; it has a few small tables, but the space is confined. We were greeted by two young employees who were eager to share their knowledge of the menu (and multitude of crusts) with us. We promptly ordered two extra large pizzas: the fat boy and the chicken vodka parm. We also ordered two orders of Thundersticks (giant mozzarella sticks). The ordering experience was mostly positive; however, there was a woman at the counter that met intervening. She seemed a bit brusque, but I think possibly she was busy and just trying to keep up. It wouldn't deter us from returning, but it was a bit off putting. The food was honestly worth the hype. The pies, while a bit expensive, were massive in size and laden with toppings. Both pizzas were really good- the crust was perfectly thin and crispy. It felt like a lot of care and quality was put into their food. The mega mozzarella sticks were also great! They were $9.95 for two, but they were easily equivalent to 8-9 sticks. We will absolutely return in the future. There is so much variety in this small shop and I want to make it a point to try it all. There's also a location in Asbury, which is much closer to where we stay when we visit NJ. read more

I found this place by being bored on Instagram. HAHAHA! My reels or videos is full of steak and cheese and pizza and other delicious things in life! Usually I get things from all over the country, but this place happened to be local. It looked interesting so I said why not? My wife and I did a food run of a few places last night and this was my pick. I will say that it is VERY EXPENSIVE if you get their triple XL pizzas, but it can easily feed 5-6 people, so there is that. I got their XL pepperoni with extra cheese, knots instead of crust, and extra cheese inside the calzone. It was amazing! Highly recommend it! Probably some of the best pizza in NJ. Dough was perfect, nice flavor! Cheese was salty and not gooey because I live a half hour away lol! Pepperoni was the perfect amount of crispy, and just a hint of spice! Calzone was stellar, super cheesy! think that I got only Mozz, but it was great none the less! My only downfall was the corn bread. I ordered through their app, and they were out, so they called me to see what I wanted to do. I asked for a refund, and they said since I ordered through the app, that wasn't possible. They offered fries, and I cut my losses ($3) and said ok. They are the super crispy fries! Think BK 10 years ago before they changed their recipe! Its like they are coated in something that gives them an amazing crunch. Ordering through the app is a little confusing, but easy enough to use. Staff is pretty friendly as well. Place looks like a 90's local pizzeria, but I was in a rush and ran in and out! Pizza was ready by the time that I got there. Waitress was on a tablet sitting at a table as I walked in... The sexy Italian is a family favorite and we tried the penne sampler with pepperoni pin wheels this time . SO GOOD!! Now don't be scared out the prices it's so worth it in the end plus the portion sizes are great. We are always in search of a great pie and we definitely found it with Joes . I hate to write this review, especially during these unprecedented times, but I am extremely disappointed. I ordered a veggie sub sandwich (probably the easiest sub to make). What I got almost seemed like a joke. I ordered over the phone and asked the person to put lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, mayo, American cheese, oil& vinegar. She said it will be ready in 15 minutes. I got a call back in 5 minutes saying it's ready and I thought to myself, wow that's quick! Now it makes sense.... The sandwich literally looked like something my 5 year old niece would make (see pic for proof). Instead of American cheese, I got shredded cheddar cheese (the stuff you put on your Mexican dishes). Also the bread was so stale and hard to bite into. If I wanted to workout my jaw, I'd probably eat a jawbreaker, not this stale sandwich. The fact that I was charged $13 total for this is such a rip off. I was about to order from Jersey Mikes and then thought to myself .. "let me support a local small business instead". Finally tried it (after stopping at Frenchy's next door). Ordered a pie & chicken fingers to go. Margarita pie was delicious! Hearty sauce with a slight kick. Thin crust and not burned but had crunch and still sturdy. Reheated well too. Chicken fingers were great too. Both cost $32. A little more costly than local pizzerias but it was definitely worth it and good. I will return to try some of their fun toppings. read more

Our second time here and both times 5 stars all around. Absolutely love the woman running it. She's got that NJ flare but absolutely a pleasure to speak with. We drove from CT first time and had the dog and it was HOT! Parking is almost non existent so they let us park him in front w AC on in truck so we could see him. She knows this menu like she made it herself and she will absolutely tell you if you're picking wrong by removing or adding things and she's right. Both times we spent a decent chunk of time conversing with her and she greatly made our time their that much better. The food is incredible. Last time we tried the calzone garlic knot pizza this time vodka park slider pizza. I preferred the slider one but strictly out of personal preference as both were incredible. Saw this place on instagram, thank you Instagram gods because this place was everything and more. Ordered on a Sunday and it was ready in 20 minutes! So fast! Didn't mind the 25 min drive, it's so worth it. Easy pick up, say your name, sign receipt, get your pizza. I had to take a whiff of it before I drove home haha. It filled my car with the cheesy goodness. The whole thing was just beyond delicious. The steak on the pizza was seasoned so well and tender. The dough was perfect thickness to hold toppings and not leave you so full. The garlic knots peeled off so easily to dunk into the marinara sauce. Now the calzone had such fresh mozzarella my mind was blown on how creamy it was. My husband called to let them know and instead of receiving any sort of empathy or apology from joes, they were defensive and said it couldn't possibly be from their kitchen. They told my husband to bring back our order and when we did, including the piece of glass, continued to argue that they have no plastic or glass in their kitchen and it couldn't be from them. We so badly wanted to love Joe's Rotisseria. After seeing the amazing pictures of the Triple Threat on Instagram, we decided to give it a try. Sadly, they came up very short of our expectations. The Triple Threat tasted like it was cooked hours before we got it, the dough was very underdone in some areas, and there were pools of grease all over the top. The rice balls were under-seasoned (and lacking flavor overall). This was the case with the rest of our order as well.
