Joe's Rotisseria offers a unique twist on your average jersey pizza with its Triple Threat. The triple threat here is a delicious calzone nestled into a pizza, with a layer of garlic knots splitting the two apart. With the knots and the calzone, the garlic was heavy overall - this is NOT meant for a first date or someone about to be in close quarters with company. I'd also say I expected it to be a bit bigger - we got the XL, but I think two hungry adults could eat nearly the whole thing.
I saw Joe's on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives years ago. I finally got around to going in January, but the place was full and I had other plans so I didn't wind up eating there. Today I tried again with friends for lunch, and boy was the wait worth it! The meal advertised on Triple D was the Triple Threat Pie, so that's what we ordered. We got a meatball calzone and plain pizza. The pizza was just the right amount of greasy and the calzone was so cheesy and delicious. We also got an order of the Mac & Cheese Balls, which came with a nacho cheese-ish sauce. There were 3 balls in the order. They were so good! Joe's is a very small restaurant, so going off peak hours is probably the best idea. There was one man working while we were there and he was super nice. He was very helpful when we were deciding what toppings to get on our pie and in our calzone. I want to go back and try their Garlic Bread Sandos!
Delicious pizzas, especially the triple threat vodka chicken cutlet pie. Has awesome garlic knots and the calzone is very tasty. Very friendly staff and quick service. Not the tidiest restaurant. But great food.
We got a calzone pizza combo. It was great. For the calzone be sure to specify what you want inside, we didn't and there was just a ton of cheese. Service was decent except no one called to let us know the order was ready. The inside has a chill ambiance. Very casual. The parking lot is not for the restaurant. Find street parking.
Food was great, quick service and friendly staff but wish I was able to dine in. I did come at a busy time which was understandable and the location is small. I do recommend the big mozzarella stick!! Super cheesy!
Joe's is really good, but mainly the Red Bank location. I would give the Red Bank location a 4.5 and the Roselle Park location about a 3. I've sat in and ordered out at the Red Bank location. I've gotten the thunder sticks, chicken wings, chicken parm sandwich, cheesesteak wrap, mac and cheese, and the penne Alfredo pizza. Everything was delicious, fresh, hot, and well seasoned. Service was good and this location was spacious. I ordered out from the Roselle one twice and it just missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. There was a lack of seasoning on many of the same items we ordered from the other location which had strong flavors of garlic, herbs, and salted butter. Could have just been two off days. Overall, if you're in the area, it's worth trying it, the menus are huge with so many unique options to choose from.
@BigDudesBigFoods finally made it to @Joes_Rotisseria , another small business that we've been trying to get to for years. It is my birthday so some birthday #shenanigans were in order. We had to get the O.G. #TripleThreat (A pizza with a third of it folded over to create a calzone which is surrounded by garlic knots.) Joanne guided us through the ordering process. We got the pepperoni pizza and the calzone was cleverly stuffed with chicken parm on this #NationalPoultryDay which Gonzo prepared to perfection. #JoesRotisseria is a cozy storefront pizza joint with plenty of photos and connections to their social media and TV appearances. Although it was during a Friday lunch rush, Joanne and Gonzo made us feel right at home. Pizza with an extraordinary twist. Perfect for a special treat or celebration (game nights, super bowl or birthday) These pizza pies are visually appealing . Our first pie was an XL Triple Threat OG calazone pizza lined with garlic knots and topped with sausage and meatballs. A portion of the pie was flipped over to create a calazone stuffed with mozzarella, ricotta cheese and sausage which was connected to the actual pie. The calazone was then lined with garlic knots to separate the pizza part from the calazone. The remainder of the cheese pie was topped with meatballs and sausage. Our second pie was typically round and had cheese burger sliders built into the crust surrounding the pizza pie. Everything was as tasty as it looked. Lots of cheese, lots of toppings and lots of crust which everyone enjoyed. Would definitely return for a special occasion or just to have their traditional basic pizza.
This place serves outrageous pizzas along with traditional Italian options and rotisserie chicken. The service was appreciated and the food was ready upon arrival as it was picked up. The prices were a little steep, but given the nature of their pizzas, it makes all the sense. The large triple threat ($26.50) was ordered. The triple threat consisted of garlic knots, a calzone, and a pizza all in one! It was not as messy as I thought it was going to be. There was an option for sausage or pepperoni on the pizza and the calzone. The sausage was chosen for both. The calzone was stuffed with cheeses and the sausage, surprisingly light. The garlic knots were soft and fluffy and the pizza was tasty as well. The sauce was the best part of the actual pizza, very light and appetizing. The Taylor ham and cheese pizza ($18.95) was also ordered. The Taylor ham was cut very thin and I was surprised how I did not taste it as much as I thought. The thin and crispy crust was ideal and again, great sauce. Will I go back? I would.

Stopped here for dinner with 2 work proximity associates. I saw somewhere that this place made top ten union county pizza joints. On a normal night I can throw down a whole pie but I wanted to try the chicken because it not often a pizza place serves rotisserie chicken, which I am also able to to knock down. So, I recruited help. We shared the triple threat. The calzone was regular with ricotta and mozz cheese, half pepperoni/half fried mozz cheese with vodka sauce, and in-between were garlic knots. And I got half a chicken for myself. The vodka and fried mozz cheese pizza was really good. Better than the pepperoni side. The calzone was really good too. The chicken was just okay. It came with BBQ sauce but I think if it came with a chilli oil, hot sauce, or spicy salsa verde it would have elevated it more. This ain't no traditional Neapolitan or NY Famous $1 slice pizza. Just gonna leave the last statement as is. They close early, like around 8pm. No personal pies on weekend. Limited parking. I didn't want to chance it parking at Frenchy's. I want to bring more people from work to try this place out so I can try all the pies they have. I wonder if they fry their calzones....... I bet they would if I asked....
Ok final got to try out this pizza spot . It's very very greasy pizza . I personally like the greasy pizza. we ordered the triple threat with pepperoni. It's garlic knots, calzone and a pizza pie all in one . The place is on a very busy main road so you have to park On the side street. The staff was ok to deal with , look in a rush to get me out . The prices are extremely expensive. I paid 32 bucks for the pie . I felt I didn't get my money wroth on this pie . Please note when using a credit card or debit they will charge you 4 percent higher then paying cash .
I was in here last week with four of my co-workers. Yes, we drove from Newark to Roselle Park simply because we heard great things about this place...and it did not disappoint. Now, this is not the kind of pizza I normally enjoy-I'm much more of a simple traditional NJ/NY pizza kind of guy. Normally I'm a plain or sausage or maybe a sausage and mushroom kind of guy, but this place screams for you to try their specials. Well, the place AND the owner scream at you to try the specials! When we walked in the owner jumped right in with a friendly greeting and started right in with explaining all the pies, and most importantly, the Mega-Slice pie. We were convinced to order the Mega-Slice, but also to each have a slice as it cooked. So we all started with slices-we tried the Chicken Parm, Sweet and Spicy Chipotle, and Plain slices and we also got garlic knots (that he threw in) and a chicken parm pinwheel. All absolutely awesome. I personally had the chicken parm slice and I'd get it again if I came back. I liked the Chipotle slice, but would never order it myself-just not my thing. Now, the Mega slice is a pizza that they shape into the shape of a giant slice. At the top where the crust is they have 6 giant pepperoni bread pinwheels and on top of the regular sauce and mozzarella they add a generous amount of Taylor Ham (or pork roll for those that don't live in North Jersey) and additional American Cheese slices. OMG this thing was ridiculous in its tasty goodness (though I shudder to consider the caloric and sodium intake for me that day). Their sauce was great-not too sweet and quite tasty and the crust was a little crispy, but TASTED awesome. For those who don't know what Taylor Ham or pork roll is I suggest coming to NJ as it's a breakfast staple here. This place is nowhere near where I live so it's not likely I'll be back anytime soon...however, another lunch trip might be needed with the crowd from work. The service was incredible (I suggest any first responders give this place a shot as they seemed to love the law enforcement crowd that came to eat there), the food was great, and the prices are reasonable.

Stopped here after an excursion to the DMV in Elizabeth. First timers, so we just ordered a cheese pie. The owner was friendly as soon as we walked in and told us it would be about 8 minutes for the pizza- super fast! I would be surprised if he even crossed the minute mark before it was in the oven. Great conversation with the owner while we waited, and learned he had a spot near Asbury Park before moving here and opening this location. They do some cool things like "2 foot slices" (for those days you only want a slice lol). Countless specialty pies if you are in the mood for unique offerings. A large cheese pie is less than what you would pay at a chain- that's a huge win win- support local! After getting our hot pizza, my wife and I knew 2 bites in that we would be coming back. Great flavor on the sauce and quality cheese. They cook their pies half in the pan and half on the stone and the crust is almost airy with just the right amount of crunch at the end. We loved talking to Joe about his fav spots in NJ and NY- and he is a pretty humble owner that gives flowers to the spots that he thinks are doing it right. Will definitely be back! Pro tip: Don't be embarrassed when Joe asks if you need a box for leftovers and you realize there are no leftovers! read more

We recently tried the Joe's rosary for the first time and it was so good. The buffalo chicken stuffed was super yummy and the crust was stuffed with cheese to the brim. The lady who we placed the order with over the phone was so sweet. Definitely order ahead as it takes time to make them. read more

I initially saw this establishment on an episode of "Food Paradise" (which I watched while on the exercise bike, which I do NOT recommend). I immediately knew that I needed to add this to our list for our next New Jersey trip. Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience! The location in Roselle Park is definitely more suited for takeout; it has a few small tables, but the space is confined. We were greeted by two young employees who were eager to share their knowledge of the menu (and multitude of crusts) with us. We promptly ordered two extra large pizzas: the fat boy and the chicken vodka parm. We also ordered two orders of Thundersticks (giant mozzarella sticks). The ordering experience was mostly positive; however, there was a woman at the counter that met intervening. She seemed a bit brusque, but I think possibly she was busy and just trying to keep up. It wouldn't deter us from returning, but it was a bit off putting. The food was honestly worth the hype. The pies, while a bit expensive, were massive in size and laden with toppings. Both pizzas were really good- the crust was perfectly thin and crispy. It felt like a lot of care and quality was put into their food. The mega mozzarella sticks were also great! They were $9.95 for two, but they were easily equivalent to 8-9 sticks. We will absolutely return in the future. There is so much variety in this small shop and I want to make it a point to try it all. There's also a location in Asbury, which is much closer to where we stay when we visit NJ. read more

I rarely ever give out 5 stars but this place definitely deserves it and a little extra. These unique pies will leave you wanting to try something else. The sexy Italian is a family favorite and we tried the penne sampler with pepperoni pin wheels this time . SO GOOD!! Now don't be scared out the prices it's so worth it in the end plus the portion sizes are great. We are always in search of a great pie and we definitely found it with Joes . I can't rave enough how good it is. So definitely give them a try if you are in the area. I suggest eating it right away if you can. The first time I ate here with my husband we ate it right out of the trunk of our car. Lol . The only do take out so definitely call ahead for your order. read more

This review is solely for their sub sandwiches, not their pizza. I love Joe's pizza and have been a customer for a long time. I hate to write this review, especially during these unprecedented times, but I am extremely disappointed. I ordered a veggie sub sandwich (probably the easiest sub to make). What I got almost seemed like a joke. I ordered over the phone and asked the person to put lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, mayo, American cheese, oil& vinegar. She said it will be ready in 15 minutes. I got a call back in 5 minutes saying it's ready and I thought to myself, wow that's quick! Now it makes sense.... The sandwich literally looked like something my 5 year old niece would make (see pic for proof). Instead of American cheese, I got shredded cheddar cheese (the stuff you put on your Mexican dishes). Also the bread was so stale and hard to bite into. If I wanted to workout my jaw, I'd probably eat a jawbreaker, not this stale sandwich. The fact that I was charged $13 total for this is such a rip off. I was about to order from Jersey Mikes and then thought to myself .. "let me support a local small business instead". Why is this $13 and who is making these sandwiches? Like why would anyone put shredded cheese on a SUB sandwich and why do you use stale bread?! I will not be ordering again. read more

Really delicious and over the top pizza combinations. Although a little soggy with all of the toppings. The chicken parm on the chicken parm slider pizza was one of the best I've had and very flavorful. Took off a star for price, as it was $65.00 for two pies that were very small. read more
Saw this place on instagram, thank you Instagram gods because this place was everything and more. Ordered on a Sunday and it was ready in 20 minutes! So fast! Didn't mind the 25 min drive, it's so worth it. Easy pick up, say your name, sign receipt, get your pizza. I had to take a whiff of it before I drove home haha. It filled my car with the cheesy goodness. The whole thing was just beyond delicious. The steak on the pizza was seasoned so well and tender. The dough was perfect thickness to hold toppings and not leave you so full. The garlic knots peeled off so easily to dunk into the marinara sauce. Now the calzone had such fresh mozzarella my mind was blown on how creamy it was. Next time I would definitely get the extra large or even two large because it was devoured by my family so fast haha ! Thanks for being open during this difficult time. Our second time here and both times 5 stars all around. Absolutely love the woman running it. She's got that NJ flare but absolutely a pleasure to speak with. We drove from CT first time and had the dog and it was HOT! Parking is almost non existent so they let us park him in front w AC on in truck so we could see him. She knows this menu like she made it herself and she will absolutely tell you if you're picking wrong by removing or adding things and she's right. Both times we spent a decent chunk of time conversing with her and she greatly made our time their that much better. The food is incredible. Last time we tried the calzone garlic knot pizza this time vodka park slider pizza. I preferred the slider one but strictly out of personal preference as both were incredible. Definitely the buffalo pinwheels are a must do! You really cannot go wrong. read more

We so badly wanted to love Joe's Rotisseria. After seeing the amazing pictures of the Triple Threat on Instagram, we decided to give it a try. Sadly, they came up very short of our expectations. The Triple Threat tasted like it was cooked hours before we got it, the dough was very underdone in some areas, and there were pools of grease all over the top. The rice balls were under-seasoned (and lacking flavor overall). This was the case with the rest of our order as well. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but sadly at the price we paid we will not be giving it another go. Cool concept, sadly didn't deliver like we expected. read more
Nobody wants a basic slice of pizza right? If you're looking to get a unique pizza, come to "Joes Rotisseria" in Roselle Park. This place is certainly all the rave & more. What "Joe's Rotisseria" offers is most definitely a loaded menu with some fun & original bites to eat. Not to mention, there is a whole lot of fun going on like eating challenges/contests where you can win some awesome prizes. We stopped by because they have something that we have never seen before, which is their "Triple Threat Pizza OG!" Everyone has been posting this pizza all over social media so we had to check it out for ourselves. Now what does a pizza with that title mean? It means that we got a Calzone, Garlic Knots, & Pizza all in the form of one nice mouth watering pie! It was tasty, it was cheesy, it was saucy, & most importantly, it was FUN AS HELL! It addition, Joe threw in a complimentary slice of "Chicken Parm" & "Bbq Chicken Chipotle Ranch," both with a "Garlic Knot" crust. Plus he threw in a "Pepperoni Chicken Pinwheel Slider" for good measure. The guy is cool, safe to say that Joe is the MAN! When it came to the quality of food, everything tasted fresh & was delicious plus totally worth it. We also got the chance to see an eating challenge/contest in real time which was really fun to watch. We caught a hopeful man in action trying to take down the "Triple Threat!" That thing was huge, especially for one person & he eventually tapped out. In conclusion, this was one of the most fun places that we have been to in a while. Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, & great food! A big thank you to Joe & his brother for making this visit an experience. LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE. THE BEST PIZZA IVE EVER HAD. My friend showed me their Instagram account recently and I knew I had to pay a visit. The staff was super helpful with what with helping us create the perfect pizza. My friend and I decided to have a chicken penne vodka pizza with eggplant parm in the calzone. It was truly life changing. The wait time was about half an hour and it was truly worth it. I'll be back soon! read more
