This was my first time at this location. At first, the older gentleman with the glasses and thick mustache seem to be in a bad mood, but there were other diners in the restaurant and they seemed like they were regulars because they knew this guy and called him by first name. The place was super clean, Pleasants, Aunt, ambience and very very tidy and let me tell you the food was the star of the show. My husband got the spaghetti and meatballs and he ate every single drop on that plate. He did give me one bite and it was extraordinarily delicious for just being your simple spaghetti and meatballs on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Josephine chicken cutlet sandwich, which was a delightful meal of a perfectly cook chicken cutlet that was crunchy and crispy and flavorful, fresh buffalo mozzarella, and a large portion of prosciutto on the sandwich with some cherry, hot peppers, sliced very thin and some arugula to set it off Tom, the gentleman with a thick mustache seem to brighten up and be more pleasant. Once we started talking to him about the new location and he really was a delightful person to speak to, and he was our server. He offered me oil and vinegar to put on my sandwich, but it was so flavorful and delicious that it did not need those items. It seemed like it was on a long baguette and cut the four pieces about four or 5 inches long. I was actually very pleasantly surprised at the size of the sandwich which ran me about $16.95 for my lunch and I ate every bit of it. It was spectacular. I'm actually not even a person who enjoys very spicy, but the flair of spice was just absolutely complementary. I am supposed to go back up North Jersey later this week, and I am really counting down the days until I can get up there and possibly have lunch again. We went into this establishment, and I had previously called to speak to Charlie the manager when we were told about this delicious restaurant to host my mother's repass since she recently passed away. I know that Italians love their food, and my husband and I were just so happily surprised at the delicious flavor of our meals. We look forward to being able to go up there again and hope that we will be able to have Cioffis restaurant in pizzeria. I am really excited. I'm not sure how many more times I can tell you that lol if you're in New Jersey and don't mind an hour drive each direction, you will not be disappointed because I can tell you firsthand that they take extra special care and pour their heart into your meal. My favorite eggplant rolatini for years! We came here often when we lived in NJ and we must make a stop every time we return. My husband had the chicken parm sandwich and it was also delicious. He took half home, it was so huge. Love the new location - very cozy and stylish. The staff was also very friendly and always checking on us to make sure we were good. Do you see that review from "Herman S"? Well, he's a loser and a LIAR. First of all, his description of "the waitress informing him that Cioffi's does not include the clam shells with white clam sauce" and that she "affirmed" that they only use canned clams is not just a flat out lie, it's stupid. Notice he didn't include a picture...like I DID, which clearly shows REAL clams with REAL shells. There were no "canned clams" like the liar, Herman S (S for STUNAD) describes. But THEN...I saw where the idiot was from, and saw what he was really upset about. They were showing "FOX NEWS" on one of their TVs behind the bar. (To be fair, there was another one showing MSLSD, but STUNAD doesn't mention that.) The jackass was just triggered at one of the tv's and felt it his responsibility to leave a lie of a review. What a snowflake! He was mad at a restaurant because they weren't waving a bunch of rainbow flags and dared to show a news source that actually tells the truth from time to time. What a fantastic Italian restaurant. I work in the area and because of the cold and rainy weather today, Thursday the 5th, I was craving some soup. I ordered Pasta Fagioli for lunch and it was a ten out of ten. The tomato broth was flavorful and did not any salt or pepper to be added to it. The pasta was cooked perfectly and still had some bite to it. The beans were flavorful. It came with a piece of crusty bread for dunking. All for under 10 bucks. Great job crew. read more

Please do not order the bruschetta pizza or caesar salad. Maybe it was my naivete that I thought bruschetta meant finely cut tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinegar and cheese? Those dainty toppings on a little piece of bread? Nah. This one came with large cubes of tomatoes and a mountain of red onion, like Mt Everest. Caesar salad had very rubbery cheese, and was not very fresh. We scraped half the toppings off the pizza, but it was still a struggle. We ate only because we were hungry. It appears that when Cioffi's recently moved from Stuyvesant to Chestnut St they left the original chef's and recipes behind. Most of the eat-in Italian Dinners are bland, watery, tasteless and the few we shared were very unappetizing'! The crowd is predominantly older men at the bar while we observed several tables of older neighborhood ladies No background music to enjoy while dining. They do have three or four TV's but unfortunately they were tuned to FOX NEWS at the request of people sitting at the bar. We would have preferred to have the ballgame on. read more

I have driven passed this restaurant multiple times but about 2 weeks ago I looked at the photos of the food on Google and Yelp. The mushroom and pepperoni pizza looked to yummy.
