We were actually out to try another spot but due to a crazy wait time, a quick local search led us here. I will say, in our haste we were only looking at pictures, not reading reviews. Ordered the Grandma and some fries- because if I see em, must have em. Fries were nothing special, so on to the pizza. Oh wait, if you see your soda come out in those pizza hut-esque cups and bubbles are visible- know its going to be a good meal! Pizza came out hot and aromatic! The crust slices knew they were getting attacked first so I had to mindfully get a pic or two before starting. Those center crustless slices rejoiced- must have heard those are my desperate choice, nightcaps if you will. Def looked generous with the cheese and there was a little shine to the pie. Upon closer inspection it looked like they were generous with the pizza oil (pesto? basil?) First bites- quality cheese lots of good chew and pull. Sauce and oil combo gave a great balance. Crust was good as it looked. Happy to "stumble" onto this spot but will ask for less oil next time. We ordered grandma pie And the drunken Brooklyn. The grandma is my favorite pizza and honestly, it was very salty here which was disappointing.The drunken Brooklyn was very greasy so much that it leaked through the box and was all over the place. I was not impressed with the pizza. Then I also feel like they overcharged us with the delivery. We asked for two Gingerale's and it was an additional $10. I have eaten at Glendale Pizza many times, & yet I'm just now reviewing them. It's a standalone restaurant style business with its own parking lot. It's a medium to large sized venue. The interior is what you would expect from a "pizza place," & the staff are all quick and to the point. There's a side just for ordering to-go, & another side with plenty of tables and chairs for sitting. The food is always good, I have never had a bad experience here. Honestly can't remember a time a had a good experience here. The food is okay but the service is terrible. On this episode of what could go wrong at Glendale we ordered six sandwiches and two orders of fries and if we didn't ask if all the sandwiches were there we would have left without two sandwiches. When we questioned they were all flustered and then said they would be back in a second while we took our fries. That second lasted roughly 20 mins without any communication of what was going on or an apology. In fact there was no apology at all for the mistake and we ended up going home with cold fries in two containers that weren't even full as you can see in the pictures. When we got home we also noticed that not of the six sandwiches were labeled so we had to play roulette to find who's was who's. Tried ordering over the phone and got overcharged for what was basically on the menu. When calling back to get an adjustment after looking at the cost online, I was not offered that and given the explanation that because of how I ordered it I was charged $4 per topping. Turning a $23 order into $44. Ridiculous that a business can overcharge customers. There was no mention of it being really expensive for something that's already on the menu and never suggested as a better option. I can't imagine how this was never brought up during the person's training. Zero for customer service and reflects on management running it. This was my first time ordering from them, where Im originally located in Jersey City. I was greeted by these 2 young ladies where the one young girl named Kaylie came and helped me. I've been coming here for years and have not had a slice that I haven't liked! It is one of my favorite pizza places, hands-down. All of their pizza is consistently delicious; i love the pepperoni pizza pies, but my favorites are the specialty slices. Spicy Brooklyn (with hot honey), grandma, and white mushroom are my favorites. I love going in and having different slices to choose from every time! I usually have a good experience here at Glendale's. I order my food pick it up 20 minutes later. I'm good. But not tonight....it started with the host hanging up the phone because I took a 1.2 seconds to give my phone number...that's ok, I called back and placed the order with a friendly guy. Upon arrival at the restaurant there was a guy ahead of me picking up his food and chatting with the female host...young girl. I waited my turn only for her to walk away to the empty dining room fidgeting with an iPad. Meanwhile I'm standing there confused. A few minutes later a male employee asked if they could help and I requested my order, paid for my food and left. Sure enough as soon as I opened my car door , lil mama returns to her station. So I asked her if she didn't want to attend to me. She started raising her voice, finger in the air carrying on like she was in a high school cafeteria. I then left only to be followed by the manager who made every excuse in the book for his 'best' girl'. He too started raising his voice not listening to me....the customer. The quality of food and service this restaurant has deteriorated . The pizza was salty with no flavor. Needless to say I will not be patronizing this business anymore. No wonder the dining room is dark and empty. Obviously Glendale's was once a thriving establishment, now it's a shame. read more

We had a party there today. Even though there was no waitress due to pandemics, but since the place was opened and they are still making pizza, we decided to use the location. We are so glad that everything worked out. We just order at the front and they will deliver to our table. They provided all the plates and utensils so it worked out. There were 22 of us and it was just family members so we felt so comfortable there. The food came out great, no one had an issue with dishes prepared. Many dishes were ordered by different members and everybody was happy with what they got. This place is one of our frequent visit places/favorites. They are also close to home. I never had an issue here. I will continue to come here for any Italian dishes. I would have no problem recommending this place. read more

Such a delicious Italian spot! I ordered the linguini garlic and oil with shrimp and chicken, and the Sophia focaccia sandwich. Both were tasty and not overly salted. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the shrimp and chicken were tender. Each bite had a little bit of extra love in it which I appreciated. If I order it next time though, I will ask for more garlic. It did come with a lot but I expected it to be the soft roasted garlic that oozes all over the pasta. Instead it was diced, so I wanted more. The sandwich was fresh and really let the flavors of the veggies shine. The restaurant is definitely adhering to COVID-19 precautions, everybody was wearing a mask and socially distanced while picking up food which I really appreciated. I love that they have multiple options. There's gluten free, vegetarian, and dairy free if that's what you need. I'm a person that can't eat dairy so I was THRILLED when they told me they have vegan pizza. I will definitely be trying it the next time I go back. For this part of jersey, it's rare to find a pizza that has the vegan options which just shows you how special it is. Oh! Glendale is a staple in our home for Friday pizza night! My family loves everything from their plain pie and Drunken Grandpa Sicilian pie with spicy pepperoni and hot honey to their penne vodka or Chicken Murphy dishes. The pies here always crisp, their slices stand "the test," and never flop! Three stars because the younger girls who answer the phone to take orders always have an attitude. We're always hesitant to say something to the owners when we come in for pick-up because the counter girls are always in earshot, and we don't want to embarrass them. Yesterday I went to get a pizza and chicken cesar salad and while the food was good I noticed the owner had his mask down below his nose. I had already ordered and paid so I felt stuck in returning the food (and the pizza ive had in the past were good) but when I looked in their kitchen I saw one dude with mask below his nose and another one with mask on his chin so I just wouldn't trust it moving forward. Whenever I get Glendale's I always get the chicken francese. It is lemony and buttery and comes in a bed of pasta with buttery garlic knots. Dipping the garlic knots in the extra francese sauce is heavenly. On a good day, Glendale's has the best chicken francese that I have ever had. However, I am only giving it 3 starts because about 25% of the time the francese sauce is bland, the chicken is chewy and the garlic knots can be burnt. I'm not sure if there are different cooks and some do it better than others. The quality can be like night and day. I still get Glendale's on a regular basis, I just know that I cannot count on it consistently being amazing. read more
