Food was amazing! The garlic curds are fantastic. The burgers were also delicious with the homemade chips. The owner is very sweet and friendly. Very fast service. Would absolutely go back.

I prefer chicken thighs over breasts and this place made an amazing sandwich (pesto chicken). The servers were quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My wife and I really enjoyed the old pub feel of this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will return.

So I didn't get a chance to write a review last night when we went to this amazing restaurant that a local bartender informed me of the day before. I have to say that this was truly an experience not to be missed Shake It Up cocktail lounge as a unique concept on signature drinks cocktails and burgers in bruchett they had a wide variety of Burger stater just out of this world We even got there and they had to create your own cocktail a list of different libations and mixers that you can do to create your own cocktail to your own personal preference I have to say this was one of the most unique dining experience I've had in a long time. I had the Roman it was a 1/3 pound wagu steak Burger with teriyaki relish and bacon jam it was amazing they had so many other wonderful things on the menu that you definitely have to go out and give them a shot and try. So if you're from the Bloomington area or visiting the Bloomington area make sure that you go out and give us Shake It Up cocktail lounge a try you won't be disappointed

You have to find this place! It is right next door to Jazz Up Front. I wanted a cocktail. I had NO idea I was going to have an amazing meal. Duck wontons, Bruchetta, hot Italian Grinder, strawberry jelly role... and cocktails. All delicious and the co trails were creative and so full of flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice spat, kind and thoughtful service, a great place to hang out for an evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the stars!

Amazing Ronin burger! Delightful downtown mix of strong cocktail selection and enticing menu but high prices that are not helped by the silly 12% food tax here courtesy of that dumb stadium I hear manipulated taxpayer money to assist its building. Alas Illinois how far you have fallen! But this place is a redeeming quality, my Jungle Bird and my friends This is the Hemingway cocktails were fantastic, helped make up for the lousy and below average picante old fashioned I started with. It was very lifeless and dull, not much to taste or enjoy neither quality of liquor or balanced ingredients. After mixing the Purple Veil a bit, must have settled during the bartender mixing, it turned into a real treat. It was nice to have outdoor seating in a quiet city spot. Unlike most other places in this area, everything is crowded, noisy and very difficult to enjoy quality time. Nice to know there's a downtown option for good conversation, might almost say this could work as a romantic venture for some as well. The menu is not huge but offers a nice variety. Our waitress was slow throughout the night which worked out for a bit since we were not sure what to get. As I already said, my Ronin burger was incredible! Well made ingredients and savory combination of Asian goods, sadly my buddy's Swiss burger wasn't so tasty. We had tried three appetizers as well, all very small but tasty, that usual frustration of paying a lot for getting a little. Such is the life of the downtown diner! Not sure I would try again on my own dime since our ticket went over $120 for us both.

We ordered drinks and two special appetizers, shrimp in a spicy cream sauce and pork belly bits with diced mango. Both were delicious. For our mains, we chose: Sassy Chicken Thighs and Brown Sugar Brined Pork Chop. The chicken thighs melted in my mouth. We spoke at length with the manager after our dinner and tried to guess the ingredients in the outstanding sauces. The sassy sauce had in addition to the honey and Dijon, some cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin. Not too spicy, just enough zip to make it interesting. The pork chop was also amazing. Tender and juicy with a cherry balsamic glaze. We would definitely recommend a visit and plan to return the next time we're in town.

The menu was several pages but only one page with food, drinks were the remainder. We got the dipper appetizer and I had the Sassy Chicken Thighs. Both were good and the thigh was boneless. My wife had the loaded potato salad, asparagus, and broccoli which she enjoyed. My son had the Steak Sliders with the potato salad which he really enjoyed. I suppose when the chef can master a menu there's no need for multiple pages. I misjudged and would definitely come back if I'm in town again.

We had a reservation so we were seated promptly at a large table in its own little alcove in the back. While the place was busy, we could chat comfortably with one another and felt adequately separate from other tables. The menu has a bit of everything, so everyone should be able to find something they like on it. We started with cocktails, mozzarella sticks, and pretzel bites. The cocktails were good but I could've used less sweetness in mine. The mozzarella sticks and pretzels bites were standard, which means they were great as usual. For a group of 5 of us, an order of each was enough to hold us over until the main meal. I personally got the fish sandwich for my dinner with fries. The fish was great and large enough that it hung over the sides of the bun. My only complaint about the sandwich was the lack of tartar sauce on it. The cook must have just added the smallest dash, as the only sign it was there was a little spot of discoloration on the bun. The fish was good but the sandwich would have been better with more moisture from that tartar. The fries it came with were standard shoe string fries. Nothing special but hit the spot all the same. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well and we left comfortably full with no leftovers. Overall the meal came at a good pace, the atmosphere was nice, and the prices were reasonably. If in town again we would come back here.

We decided to go with the rustic pizzas that were delicious and unusual: harmony, Korean, chicken and loaded supreme. The crust tasted like it was from a woodfired oven and the Korean chicken pizza was so unusual and tasty with kimchi and pickled shiitake. The fresh from the forest mushroom side dish they gave us a special treat to us was quite a delicacy. Even the farm to table items they have for sale when you walk in to take home are a treat, Especially the homemade marshmallows! Ended with dessert of a fresh orange olive oil cake with just tremendous flavor and blood orange on the side and orange marmalade on the cake. It served exquisitely with a side of homemade ice cream that was to die for. We can't wait to come back! Our waitress, Lupe, treated us like family and was incredibly personal and warm. We started with the sashimi plate. The fish was fresh- including tuna, salmon, shrimp- placed over small celery bites. A variety of sauces were dotted around the plate's edge. The dish would have benefited from some ginger and more sauce. Our entrees included Pork Coppa Ramen- which was a solid dish- strong beef broth flavor and the sambal (chili sauce) -a few cents extra- added a good depth of flavor. The fish bowl- tuna, salmon- with rice, pickled veggies, and gim (Korean seaweed) was tasty. It was even tasty the next day cold out of the fridge. Our server Jack did a nice job- we sampled their roasted carrots- and they were actually our favorite bite. We also had the potato graten and they were tasty- but could have been easily skipped with our Asian dinner vibe. The restaurant has a great eclectic historical vibe and was busy on a Friday night, but still felt spacious. The drink menu is a good selection- we enjoyed wine with dinner (a solid Pinot noir). I would definitely go back to have the pizza- which looked delicious at a couple of the neighboring tables. This is a great date night venue or girls night out.
