We came here for lunch after looking up places to eat on Yelp. It's hard to see from the road, we actually passed it and had to turn around. Plenty of parking in the lot. Seating outside and inside. There's also a few arcade games for kids or adults to play as you wait for your order. It's got the feel of a diner on the beach. There was only 2 employees who I believe were also the owners. Great service and hospitality. This place is unassuming, You don't expect the food to taste as great as it does. All the food is cooked fresh. You can taste the quality of the food that is used. The food is served in dog bowls. It's gimmicky, so some people might be turned off or find it unsanitary. They line the bowls with wax paper and I would think have not been eaten out of by dogs. I can't believe I actually had to say it, but after reading some of the reviews I think it was necessary. The food was fantastic. We got the garlic parmesan wings to start. The sauce was flavorful and the wings were drowned in it. Not as much meat as I would like on the wing, but still delicious. I dipped my fries in the leftover sauce. It added to the great taste of the fries which are hand cut and seasoned nicely. I got the double cheeseburger. I added jalapeños, spicy mustard, ketchup, and mayo from the free condiment list. If you have never tried it like this, I highly suggest it. It may sound like too much on the burger, but you will not be disappointed. The burger was fresh and cook exactly how I asked. Just the right amount of condiments and jalapeños were on the burger. I will definitely be returning to try one of the hotdogs they have on the menu. Found this place on my last night of vacation while looking for something local that was fast and had a good burger. I ordered from their website (joeydoggs.com) which is equipped with an online ordering option but is not listed on Yelp. I ended up ordering a cheeseburger, a bacon cheeseburger, two plain hot dogs, two Joey dogs (chili and onion) and a kids chicken nugget meal along with large orders of fries, onion rings, and corn nuggets. Which was just a little over $50 for the total order. The food was ready when I showed up to pick it up but it took me a few minutes to get the staff to recognize me because they were all in the back fixing food. When I got their attention, they were pleasant and knowledgeable of my order. When I got the food home, I found it was well prepared and there were no complaints as to taste or portion size. My kids devoured it. While I got it for take out, you have an option to dine in but the dining room is a little small and the business is located between a liquor store and smoke shop. Still the best chili dog in town. I always get the Joey Dogg without mustard. The chili is reminiscent of Cincinatti chili. Just a little bit of heat--so good. We did tater tots this time and they were perfectly good, though I should probably ask for no added salt. It was a very generous portion. Food was great except the hing of the poppy seed roll failed to hold up making it difficult. Don't know if it was pre cut or they cut it. Normally we like the food, but we went there yesterday and two burgers and fries was $21. This morning I realized we had been double charged for our food. We had been charged $42 for two burgers and some fries. I called and told them they had double billed me. I was told they figured that out and the money would be put back in my account in a few days. The woman at the counter was very friendly, and that's about all the positive things I can say about this joint. Firstly, the ketchup bottle given to our table was caked in some type of sticky yellow goo around the spout along with black dirty spots all around the lid. Secondly, the dog bowls could have been a cute idea, but it looks like their dog just had breakfast in the backyard in the bowl just before putting our food in with the only protection from the filth being a thin piece of parchment paper. As a local of the Grand Strand, my family supports small businesses in the area. However, my younger sister went into this place to order food for the family. While waiting, she asked to use the restroom and the older woman working there proceeds to scream at her, in front of customers, that she is a drug addict bc of her skin and demands she leave the place. My sister has been battling skin cancer for the past 2 years. Not only was this humiliating to her, but it has sent her into a downward spiral of depression. I do not support judgmental nor folks who lack empathy and basic decency towards other humans. I pray these folks never have to experience a demeaning encounter like the one my sister did. My sister was treated in a cold and dehumanizing manner and although it saddens us deeply, we have found forgiveness for the employees involved. The Italian Dog is a 1/4 lb beef frank topped with onions, peppers and potatoes served in a pita bun. The Chicago dog was a 1/4 lb beef frank with relish, onion, tomatoes and sport peppers. Chili dog was flavorful with just the right amount of chili and had the option of shredded cheese or cheese whiz.
