We visit this location frequently--typically at least once a month--because it is close to our home. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that we are reconsidering whether we will return. After being seated, we waited approximately 20 minutes before anyone came to our table to take our drink order. We understood the restaurant may have been busy, so we were patient and did not complain. Our server, Aleshia, eventually arrived, took our drink order, and returned later to take our food order. From there, the service continued to decline. Our food took at least 40 minutes to arrive, and during our meal, my husband needed a refill on his drink. Our server was nowhere to be found, and after waiting for quite some time, he got up and refilled it himself. While we understand that customers should not be making their own drinks, he was simply trying to avoid interrupting anyone and did not intend to cause an issue. When Aleshia finally came back to our table, the first thing she said was that her manager had "gotten on her" because my husband refilled his own drink. She then told us that he should have asked her for a refill. During this conversation, she stated, "I'm not trying to bust your balls," in front of our 9-year-old daughter. We found this language completely inappropriate, especially in a family restaurant. My husband asked Aleshia to send the manager over so they could discuss the situation directly. The manager never came to our table. Later, when my husband went to speak with the manager himself, the manager stated that he had no idea what he was talking about and that he had never spoken to our server about the issue. At that point, either the server was not being truthful, or there was a serious breakdown in communication. Either way, it reflected poorly on the restaurant. When our server eventually returned, my husband explained what the manager had said. At that point, Aleshia changed her story and claimed that other employees had mentioned the situation to her instead. She then rolled her eyes at my husband and walked away. After that, she repeatedly checked on nearby tables while walking right past ours without acknowledging us. The level of service we received was unacceptable. We are generally easygoing customers, and we understand that restaurants get busy. However, poor communication, inappropriate language, inconsistent explanations, and dismissive behavior are not acceptable. We always tip our servers--and usually tip very well--but in this case, we did not leave a tip because the service simply did not warrant one. It is unfortunate because we have been loyal customers of this location for years. We hope management addresses these issues so other guests do not have a similar experience.

We came in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and they were not too busy. It has a large bar area,…read morebut extra areas with tables. The staff were super friendly with great meal recommendations. The young lady who took our drink order and our waitress recommended the Crafty Quesadilla - Shredded cheese with sauteed peppers and onions, served with lettuce and tomato garnish salsa and sour cream. You can have it just like that or customize with- Grilled Chicken, Shaved Steak, Grilled Shrimp, Bacon, Lobster, Ground Cab Beef, Plant Based Patty, Fresh Jalapenos, Sauteed Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Tomatoes. I added chicken. It was very tasty with a balanced amount of chicken and vegetables. My husband had the Conway Burger. Local favorite! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion, with pepper jack cheese. We had fried pickles for a starter and he added some of them to the burger. It was a nice big burger. Cannot wait to go back and try their Rivertown Mac. Conway is a beautiful town perfect for strolling on a lovely day. Picked up a jar of local honey from Mountain Man Honey & Goods. Lot of great local spreads without refined sugars.

Helen and I discovered it while scouting out local spots, and its location couldn't be better--just steps from the scenic Conway Riverwalk, surrounded by charming shops and historic buildings. Even the street parking (easy parallel with a two-hour window) felt like part of the laid-back, small-town experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe hit just right: cozy, welcoming, and full of locals who clearly know a good thing when they see it. The staff made us feel right at home--friendly, attentive, and happy to help us navigate the menu. We kicked things off with the cold lobster dip, and let me tell you--this isn't your average appetizer. Imagine a creamy lobster roll transformed into a rich, indulgent dip, packed with chunks of lobster and served with warm pita points. It was the kind of dish you don't want to share... but have to. Helen went for the Reuben--perfectly stacked with shaved corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and house-made Thousand Island, all grilled on black rye. I opted for the seafood platter with fish and shrimp, cooked to perfection. The fries were hand-cut, the seafood was fresh and flavorful, and while the jalapeño dill slaw had a bit more kick than I expected, the rest of the plate absolutely delivered. As we soaked in the atmosphere, we spotted a plate of loaded Brussels sprouts heading to another table--crispy, golden, tossed in garlic parmesan sauce, and topped with bacon and shredded parmesan. Safe to say, that's already on our must-try list for next time. And so is their "Everything but the Hen" wrap--a hearty combo of shaved steak, grilled shrimp, bacon, fresh veggies, provolone, and horseradish mayo wrapped up in a soft tortilla. Yes, it sounds as good as it looks. The best part? After a couple of beers, a full seafood platter, a loaded Reuben, and that incredible lobster dip, our total was still under $50--even with tip and tax. Great food, great prices, and a relaxed, local vibe--The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill has officially earned a spot on our regular rotation. We'll definitely be back for more.
