This is the 2nd time we have visited this establishment, and it will not be the last. On this run, we ordered the chicken and fries platter for $12.99 and mac and cheese bites. We got the house made ranch and FD sauce. As you see, the portions are nice for the price you pay. The fries are fresh cut, so it's super delicious. I personally do not like the ranch too much, dill. It's just odd. However, their FD sauce is fire. The mac and cheese bites were also delicious, and they come with like a cheese sauce on top. Everyone is very friendly and works there and parking is super easy as there is a whole lot. read more

I had really been looking forward to going here after hearing and reading good things. We ordered tenders which are their specialty and their home cooked fries with chicken and I think a cheesy gravy. We got the tenders tossed in mustard and buffalo sauce. The tenders are supposed to be fresh but they tasted weird. Like synthetic. The fries were pretty good. The service was friendly and pretty quick. The bathroom was clean. They said they give a military discount and they also had a ten percent discount if you liked them on Facebook. Inside it was cold and the fries stayed warm for about a minute. They have a fried Oreo dessert that I didn't try. I doubt that I will be back. Just FYI Ranch dressing costs fifty cents. Getting tenders tossed cost extra. read more

I have been to Joey's Chicken Shack twice now and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love love love their Fat Guy Fries! My boyfriend ordered a tender sandwich that had 'merica sauce and he really enjoyed it! The second time we came here we both had tenders and a 32oz Fry! He got all 'merica sauce on his 6 tenders and I got half 'merica / half buffalo. The tenders are so good! A lot of flavor! And the tenders are so juicy and lightly breaded that it makes it taste 10x better! I am glad me and my boyfriend decided to try it out because it is now one of our regular date spots! read more

Awesome chicken!!! Been here several times now, and they are really doing a great job. It's a laid back atmosphere and they have an old SuperNintendo hooked up and ready to play. It seems small, but my son loves it, it makes him ask to go here - smart move by them. The highlight and must have - the traditional chicken tenders. They are hand-breaded and fried, and are absolutely perfect. The grilled tenders are also very, very good and a healthier option. The fries are made fresh and taste like it. They've made an improvement recently by adding platters - options for tenders and a small fry at a discount. That was my only annoyance in the past was that it was like 5 guys - gotta but a "small" fry for 2-3 bucks that was a ridiculous amount of fries when I really just wanted some to go with. I'm running out of restaurants I want to try in the Harrisburg area. This was one of the last ones on my list where someone had said good things about it but I hadn't gotten there. Due to COVID, it's take out only. We ordered at the counter and they were nice enough to bring it to the car. Hubby tried the small popcorn chicken because he wasn't really hungry. I said they were good. My son got 4 tenders with a side of F.D. sauce (a combo of bbq, honey mustard, and buffalo). He thought they were good. The sauce was an interesting combination. I decided to try something different. I opted for the nachos. I was expecting a small pile of chips with stuff dumped on it. Instead, I received a nicely plated (even in the Styrofoam to go box) circle of house made flour tortilla chips topped in the center with the shredded chicken in a taco sauce, the cheese sauce, and the other toppings. They were really, really good (albeit different from "typical") nachos. I would definitely order them again. The only negative to the nachos was the overly salty chips. The chips were perfectly fried and crispy enough to not collapse under the toppings which was handy for eating in the car. They were just too salty and it was impossible to brush off the salt because of the toppings. I will definitely eat there again. read more

Where do I start. This place should not be a brick and mortar at all. The workers aren't friendly, they ring you up with an attitude, and the food is gross. We ordered 2 wing combos with French fries. Being that this is my first time at this est I was curious about the flavor of some of the wings and the guy blatantly told me they don't let people taste the sauce. The specifically have a sauce by the name of FD sauce where it's a trilogy of their honey mustard, bbq, and hot sauce mixed so that's the one I asked if I could sample only for tasting purposes and he said I would just have to order it and see if I liked it and that they do not do flavor samples at all. Like wtf. Then how is it that two meals with a soda came to almost $40 and they don't even give you a ranch or blue cheese to go with your wings. That's ridiculous. And Then their side of cheese is $1. I was thinking it would come in a larger ramekin then it did but it's literally in a small ketchup dispensing container. You can tell that the cheese sauce is the same béchamel sauce they use for the fried cheese balls and it's gross. Once you take the top off you have about two minutes before it turns to a cold fluff of cheese and flour. They need to hire a chef, fix their recipes and fix their pricing. It was not worth the $40 at all. It would have been easier for me to go to the atm and let the wind blow my money away opposed to patronizing this business. I would not go there at all esp if your expecting chicken wings or fries. Oh and btw the fries were soggy, and got cold within a minute. Just wrong on so many levels. When you walk in it looks pretty cool until you try to understand the concept of their decor. I couldn't tell if they were trying to mimic a smaller scaled Cracker Barrel that specializes in chicken wings and tenders or what but if it's not a boutique/chicken spot they should GET RID OF all of the lettering, shirts and hats. Put that online, it just makes the store seem clustered. The best thing at this restaurant was the Pepsi and Dr Pepper and that's the truth, they need to do better. I hate to not have anything nice to say about this business but they need to go to a board and start over. Customer service is horrible, the food and the recipes belong in the garbage, the bathroom reeks of pee, it's so cluttered and it's ridiculously expensive . read more

I travel a lot in the northeast and was surprised when visiting family in central PA this gem while passing by area shopping center. I'm very skeptical when it comes to chicken wings/BBQ and if it's really good...but this place surprised me - well seasoned wings, good sauces, great fries and interesting variety of them. Unfortunately BBQ and wing places have been hit hard with inflation and it's hard to find value in food because of costs but this place did a good job of being reasonable when compared to local national chains in area and the freshness and taste. read more

We're new in the area and were headed grocery shopping. On the way we passed by the Shack and felt like it'd be good. Made the order online via Door Dash and the food was done very quickly. (Quick Tip: Order directly on their website and you'll save some $) Walked in to grab our food and everyone was very friendly. They actually accidentally made the fries instead of the sandwich and in good faith a gentleman ran out to inform us and ask if we'd like the sandwich instead. As you can see in the photos we had to keep the fries, they were totally worth it and would buy for real next time. He quickly went back in and had them create the sandwich. Found this place on Localflavor. We were greeted by Justin and he was very helpful in recommendations! We got their sampler for starters. I'm a huge fan of their chicken tenders - so juicy and tender. I fell in love with their fresh cut fries. Dip them in their in-house honey mustard sauce and your taste buds will thank you.If you want to try the best of both worlds of chicken tender and fries - order the fat guy fries! I was disappointed in their wings both traditional and shack style - they were pretty dry even when dipped in sauce. I'm looking forward to go back and try their burgers and mac & cheese bites. Stopped by last night as I was in the area and a buddy had said how good it was. Ordered food via square and was told 30 minutes. We ordered a chicken cheesesteak, popcorn chicken and fries, a salad with chicken and a dozen wings. I walk in a hear food for Joey, a familiar voice. It's Levi, who could not have been nicer and I was impressed he remembered my sons name and asked how he was. Food wasn't quite ready I showed up in 25 minutes. Even so I am very well familiar with The Cedar Cliff High School area in Camp Hill, PA, primarily because it was my stomping grounds whenever I spent many summers with my grandparents who used to live there, today it's nothing more than getting off the exit to go to New Cumberland. But today i had extra time, already ate a breakfast at home, but just felt like I want to have a little something. So out of curiosity I turned into the strip mall and circled around the building when I noticed a new eatery. Curious about it I stepped in. The place is nice and clean, nothing fancy but one doesn't mind to have their meal there. Being new to it I went with the minimal. I had a two piece chicken tender with home made fries topped with their special sweet, hot seasoning. Accompanied by a mayo-ketchup dip. The chicken was absolutely moist which is rare to find and the French fries which are fresh cut did not have the usual soggy texture but were rather crisp and the seasoning was great. I did not care too much for the dip. Mayo does not belong to my favorite items but I like it in mixes. Yet, with American mayo being a far inferior quality compared with German or any other European mayo which actually consists of the base ingredients and no more or less, even in a mix American mayo is not any better. Overall, Joey's Chicken Shack is worth coming back to. And the meal cost only a little over $6,00. Well worth! read more

I think it's safe to say I found my new cheat day spot. Although the menu is rather small, the choices were still overwhelming and I had a hard time choosing. However, reminiscent of my "spuds" days back in Kutztown, I can never pass up loaded fries. I went with the fat guy fries with chicken, bacon, and ranch and they did not disappoint. Ive driven passed this place a thousand times and never knew it was tucked back in this little strip mall. Erin said we had to stop here and try some of her favorite chicken. They make and bread the Chicken fresh and it is so crispy with the special ingredients that bring a PHENOMAL texture and flavor to the chicken and still keep it uicy. They have a bunch of different dipping sauces and they are all amazing. You have to get the cheese sauce to dip the fresh cut fries it is a killer combination. My favorite is the sweet Thai chili sauce. You will need to stop in and try this place. I will be going back to try other menu items. From 16 pieces I got 3 tenders and rest was chicken breast cut out like fingers. Very light breading and no taste. Honey mustard helped little bit. Some of them were chewy, like synthetic. Something weird. Also, they were like boiled. Not crispy at all. They were in the bag until I got home. This maybe the reason. I am giving two stars because honey mustard tasted good. I had the best intentions, unfortunately I didn't work out for me. I cannot recommend this place. read more
