I picked this spot simply because this app told me that Burger Yum had the best burgers in the city. I had planned on coming into town today for an event in Coronet Park. I'm so glad I did! A 15 minute bike ride, and a 40 minute bus ride got me there.. The young guys that were behind the counter complemented me on My tattoos, and made me feel extremely welcome. I knew exactly what I wanted, despite everything on the menu looking amazing. By the way, I will be back for the hot chicken. But I digress... I got a classic, and added cheese and bacon. I also ordered bacon cheese fries. The atmosphere of the place was so inviting and quaint I knew I had chosen the right place even before my food came. I hadn't eaten since breakfast so I was wildly ready for this meal. But nothing prepared me for what I saw when they called my name when my order was ready... I stuck my fork into the fries first, golden brown and smothered in bacon and cheese. The second my fork broke the surface, clouds of steam rose off, as they were piping hot. The burger, nestled in a half rap of chef's paper, screamed at me the dive into, which I did immediately. A few minutes and a few pictures in, I questioned whether I could finish everything but as you can see from the final photograph it was really never in question. Awesome place located in downtown Harrisburg! Love the light up sign upon entering . The biggest plus to this place is the hormone free and antibiotic free meat! The downside to this is it becomes a little pricey, but what isnt nowadays! The burger itself looked and tasted great! I think the BBQ Burger Yum Burger was fantastic! The service was quick and the ordering process was easy. They keep Burger Yum clean and the decor looked awesome and modern on the inside and out! My biggest knock is the lack of burger options. Dropped my wife off at the train station and thought I would look for a local place for lunch that was not a chain. Yum Burger had a very good rating, was close by, and open which is rare in a government/business section on a Saturday. IMHO the smash burger and fries were than 5 Guys or Shake Shack. We came here with my daughter and some of her friends after a local competition. The staff was incredible. And the food and milkshakes were really good. There were also incredible portion sizes. My husband and I shared the Parmesan garlic fries and we couldn't even finish it together. My daughter said those one of the best milkshake she had ever had. When one of the young men at the counter realized that the table we're heading to was dirty and used he ran around to go and clean it before we even set anything down . Chicken sandwich was awesome! Loved it!! The breading was flavorful and seasoned nicely. I put some yum sauce on it and it got even better. I enjoyed it so much I considered having a second one! Employees were friendly. Only downgrading 1 star because the soda machine looked dirty and had some suspicious black stuff under the ice maker area. Might be time to open it up and do a thurough cleaning. The straws were not sanitarily displayed (unwrapped in a container) and I saw people touching the tops of other straws. Gross! Lastly, I enjoyed looking out the window during the meal but the windowsill was covered in dirt and dead leaves. The food is served in little cardboard containers on plastic trays. I usually go there two or three times a month and every time I do, I'm still surprised at how good the burgers are. Burger Yum is on my list of best burgers I've ever had. The location is nice, I was able to find parking without too much problem, service was fine, but it is that burger that is going to bring me back. I ordered the BBQ Burger which is topped with BBQ sauce, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, and haystack onions. This is the type of foodie place that probably has great food across the menu, they also have chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. I don't live in Harrisburg, in fact I am from NC, but I'll be back, I'll find a way, this burger is a gift from God to humanity.... Oh, and their fries and shakes are good too. Fantastic burgers. My husband is what I consider a hamburger seeker. He would prefer to eat something burger-like for all meals if possible so Burger Yum quickly was added to our list once we got into town. My husband loved his burger as he said this Burger Yum is the first spot in recent history that has good burgers even when reheated. The prices were reasonable, employees were kind as well as attentive and the food was fantastic. Burger Yum was our first food stop in Pennsylvania that wasn't gas station food so it was that much more delicious. Burgers are almost always what's good and finding a little place like this seems to be exceedingly hard here for some reason as there just aren't that many small little places like this that are doing it right! Coming here was what's good on this given night as they are turning out some delicious burgers as they were juicy flavorful and just perfect with the right toppings that hit the spot from start to finish! Of the delicious choices I went with the bbq burger it had a yummy tangy BBQ sauce on it with some crispy onion strings as well as bacon and cheese to make the whole thing just that much more yummy! Of the other sides I had to go with the garlic Parmesan fries and they too did not disappoint as they had a pile of Parmesan on them and were served hot just the way they should be making for some yummy goodness from start to end! Overall this is a chill little place just a block or two away from the Pennsylvania state capital and they are doing it right for what's good in just that many ways I'm sure I'll be back here again as there just aren't too many grab and go burger places here that aren't a chain! read more
