Tonight our pizzas were good and everyone in our group enjoyed the food. Our server (the one w/ glasses) however, was a bit of a dud. She didn't have any personality and never smiled once the entire time. She came off as rude and seemed annoyed to be there. She also only brought three plates for an appetizer that five of us were sharing, which gave us a laugh. Thankfully, the food made up for it! We came here to celebrate Father's Day and got there when they opened. Ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and wife ordered the Mahi tacos. The Philly had hardly any meat in it and was bland. Sweet potato fries were cold. The tacos were also bland to where you had to add hot sauce on them to have any flavor. Would have thought that since we were the first quest that the food would be good and hot. Very disappointing. The last time we came here the food was the same so I'm figuring they have a new cook as we haven't had issues before. Won't be back. read more

I have passed by this place dozens of times over the past 1.5 years. I never went in because I usually get Jersey Mike's in same shopping center, and because I thought it wouldn't be good. It looks decent from the outside but I knew it was a chain because there is one in nearby Denver (NC, not CO) and because there is usually a beat-up company van in the parking lot. Service: NOT friendly, we unfortunately got a person having a bad day that made ours less enjoyable. There was a server next to our booth who helped us with specials because our person had no idea. Also our server had no idea how to describe items preparation or ensure we got served correctly. Food: Never order the Club, unless your a toddler and want processed low end thin lunch meat with some slices of processed cheese. This was my worst ever sandwich in the last 10 years that I really should have sent back, but the sandwich was so bad due to the quality. Then there was the pieces of burnt bacon between over buttered bread that was buttered on every side, asked for just toasted ...nope it was the worst sandwich but looked pretty on the plate. They did have fingerling potato as a interesting side that was good. The blackened chicken was tough and asked for light seasoning which was not light and hidden under an overwhelming bun, served with good fries. Drinks: nothing memorable for having interesting names. Beer could have been colder. Ambience: LOUD, yell at your quests loud. Moved to dine on newer expanded side and still loud. I placed a to go order for lunch today. When I called in the order, I verified with the restaurant what was included with the chicken salad plate, chicken salad, cheese, coleslaw, fruit cup and crackers. When I arrived home, to my disappointment the fruit cup and slaw was not included. Basically, half the order was missing. They asked if I wanted to come back and get the remaining portion of my order, I said no since gas is almost $4 a gallon and I didn't make the mistake. They told me it would be about 3 days before I would see the refund on my card. I asked so if I place another call in order, I need to check it before I leave just like going to a fast food restaurant. Response, if you like. It will be a hot minute before I go back. This review is based on tonight's experience. After placing an online order, I arrived to pick up the order and the front staff was polite and explained the order would be a few minutes late. The order came and I drove 15 minutes to my home. I opened the bag and noticed only two food containers. They forgot to include my Cobb salad. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and it looked tasty, except it was missing the bottom bun. She also checked the items she wanted and didn't indicate she wanted mayo, but it came with it on the sandwich. Where is the quality control? Food should be served Hot, not tepid. Chef had a very heavy hand on oregano, especially on a pizza with sliced olives caricossa. Sugo a little thin and pasta overcooked ( not warm enough) dropped the ball. Saturday should be the A team in kitchen. Employees should replate food bought at a different venue (chik fil a) don't let your customers see someone else's product. read more

This was my first time visiting and I was NOT disappointed. I was expecting pizza and lots of Italian themed entrées but the menu had plentiful options and the service was exceptional. From the time we walked in until when we were serviced by our server/waitress, the team was very attentive. Glasses were filled, food was delivered quickly and hot and presented very nicely on the plates. Leah was our waitress and she was the friendliest I've seen in a long time! COVID is over, time to get back to having customer service and dependability when you wait 45 minuets to pick up an order (it's Saturday night so I get that) but to mess up an order this badly is poor management and training. Went in a couple of months back and ordered food to go at lunchtime not a busy time for them at all maybe 3 to 4 people at the bar seems the bartender was having a bad day. I ordered food I had to ask for 50 minutes later, it came home cold as can be, and I was sitting there waiting she :(I am sure accidentally knocked 2 tea jugs all over my clothes n shoes! And I still had to ask for my food as I sit there wet 50 minutes later, she didn't think it was ready yet, but apparently it was and sitting back there getting cold. I visited this restaurant on Friday, 4/7/2023 and I called to place an order. When I arrived the place was spacious, had a bar, and lots of TVs. I asked for 2 of the Madison salads and a small VEGGIE pizza. When I received my order, the veggie pizzas was full of ham and when I checked my receipt, I noticed I was billed for a "CAPRICCIOSA" pizza which was a specialty pizza with veggies and ham. I understand that the representative charged me for a specialty pizza but I specifically asked for vegetables. She could have informed me of her decision since the specialty pizza she charged me for included meat. The Madison salad was made with iceberg lettuce and the toppings listed on the menu. read more

Ohhhh, Joey's Sherrills Ford is open! Plenty of parking, new building, sunny, big open windows and every employee on my visit were wearing masks. I felt safe and comfortable! I met a friend for lunch and we enjoyed pizza and a salad. They brought us two plates so we could share. I found the service to be excellent and kind there. The food was as good as the original, and that pizza is my favorite in the area. Give them a try. They are working the kinks out for being new, but doing it beautifully. read more

It is definitely more aligned with Joey's in Denver, although I think the menu is smaller. No one was wearing masks and when asked why they said it was optional and staff all had signed medical forms saying they didn't have to wear them. And wearing them in the kitchen was a medical hazard. To top it off the staff was not friendly and they did not appear honest about the reason behind mask wearing. The service was mediocre and we did not stay past ordering an appetizer. The atmosphere was almost hostile because we questioned why a place would put their comfort above health and safety. I am really conflicted about Joey's Sherrills Ford location. We heard such great things about the Denver location so we were really excited to have a location open in Sherrills Ford. The first week they were open we ordered takeout and got the Grandma pizza, the Trio toppings (Parmesan, Garlic and Calabrian Peppers) and the JoJo bread. OMG, was it good! The following week we repeated the takeout order from the week before and also ordered the chicken quesadilla and the beef quesadilla and a side of fries (lunch for the next day!). Again, soooo good! This past Sunday (9/27) we decided to venture in for dinner inside the restaurant. We were greeted by five or six young ladies, none of whom were wearing masks. We were seated at a booth in front of the bar immediately next to the adjoining booth. When our waiter came to take our beverage order we asked to move to the next booth booth over to provide some distance from the other parties. The young ladies congregating at the reception area were visibly surprised by our move. We ordered the chicken marsala and beef nachos. Our waiter asked whether if we wanted the chicken grilled, fried or blackened. Ermmm, what?! Humph, alrighty then. Blackened it is. We were still feeling hopeful until our orders came out. The chicken marsala looked like blackened chicken on fettuccine noodles with a light sprinkling of parsley flakes. No mushrooms, no visible signs of marsala sauce. The beef nachos were meh. We ordered the Peach Cobbler thinking maybe it would be the redeeming item of the visit. We assumed it would be served warm. Our mistake: it arrived cold. It wasn't even slightly warm. Every restaurant has its hits and misses. It was inevitable that we would eventually order something that we weren't thrilled with. Chicken Marsala, check. Beef nachos, check. We chose not send the food back nor did we make an issue of the lack of masks and social distancing. It just wasn't worth the time and effort. Will we give Joey's Sherrills Ford another chance? Possibly but it will be on a takeout basis only. We care about the health and safety of our families and those around us. That's why we wear a mask in public despite any slight discomfort. Found this spot on our way home this Sunday evening. We are new to the area and wanted a spot where we could watch some football and have some pizza. The football part was great because they have several tvs and can watch different games. The pizza was okay. The service was not great. We sat at the bar and our waitress/bar tender was not friendly at all. Not attentive to what we needed and just not the type of vibe we were looking for.
