Kristi and her team did an absolutely fantastic job catering our wedding on June 22, 2024. Kristi went above and beyond in making sure every detail was taken care of in the weeks leading up to the wedding and on the day itself. She is also very familiar with the Art Factory, our wedding venue. This ended up being clutch, particularly because we changed around our ceremony location multiple times in the lead up to the event. Because we had Kristi and her team, last minute changes were not a problem, and everything went off without a hitch. Pick up some samples yesterday(6/8/24) for our wedding ,food was absolutely awful I would have better luck serving MREs at our wedding , it all tasted the same like it was sitting in the freezer then just heated up to warm. I don't have enough praise words to describe my experience with Kristi at John Claude Catering who catered my wedding this past February in Brooklyn, New York. My wedding was at the Dumbo Loft, an empty space for which I had to coordinate all aspects of my ceremony and reception. At the time I found John Claude, I had already expended extensive time, energy and efforts in attempting to find a reasonable catering service for my planned wedding of about 120 people. I found that most caterers I spoke with prior to John Claude, were significantly unclear about their pricing and service models. When pressed with specific questions about what is actually necessary for a 120 person event, the answers were typically vague and evasive with little flexibility. In stark contrast, when we met with Kristi at John Claude, I was instantly met with sheer transparency in pricing, a flexible menu with ample variety/dietary selection and of course Kristi's attention to detail in addressing my numerous questions...and trust me..i had tons. I am so grateful to have been able to work with Kristi in the days leading up to my wedding. She gave me expert advise every step of the way, helped me navigate the intricacies of the reception planning process, and was always available to address any issues that came up along the way. She worked seamlessly with my DJ and venue staff to execute an immaculate event. We met for a tasting in advance of the wedding and were able to choose which dishes we wanted. Having Kristi and her team at John Claude cater your wedding is like if your sister were your caterer. She has so much integrity around her work that she will work so hard to make sure your day is a success. Booking and designing the menu was so easy; the tasting was great; and the price was within our budget. Not only are John Claude's prices reasonable, but Kristi reviewed our rentals list and pointed out a few items we could probably do without. Leading up to the wedding, Kristi checked in a few times to make sure everything would be seamless the day of. And on the catering side, everything was! Unfortunately, our venue dropped the ball on a number of things, such as setting the correct number of places at each table, not having enough space for the buffet tables, and so on, but Kristi and the staff stepped up immediately to fix everything so all our guests could have seats and be comfortable. The phrase "above and beyond" gets used so often, but I don't know how else to describe what she made possible, even when our venue was making it very difficult! They brought me and my husband a plate of appetizers right away, made sure our glasses were always full, and checked in to see if we needed seconds, etc. And of course, so importantly, the food was amazing! I've rarely had salmon so moist, and certainly never at a high volume event. The vodka penne, eggplant rigatoni, roasted potatoes, and steak were also fantastic. So many of our guests were remarking on how much they loved it. We first didn't know where to start to find a catering company to host our wedding. When we first called Kristi from John Claude Exclusive Catering, our first impression was amazing! Her friendliness and caring attitude is what drew us to committing to them. Their menu option off their site was straight forward and easy to navigate. All of the food was brought out on trays from the servers, and was prepared nicely. The food was kept hot during the duration of the reception. They even handled our cake with cutting and distribution to our guest. The service was complete and awesome. We needed to find a caterer to provide the food and beverage service the wedding reception of our daughter to be held in Brooklyn, NY. After searching and talking to many providers we struck gold when we talked to Eileen at John Claude Catering. From the beginning it felt like she was someone we had known for a long time with her being easy to contact and communicate with. Eileen was amazingly professional and was very helpful to tailoring the cuisine to fit the needs of our invited guests and within the budget we had to work with. The food was absolutely delicious and the guests could not stop raving about taste and selection provided. There were a few kinks at the venue where Eileen and her staff went far and beyond what was expected, with she and her staff improvising where needed to make any problems or issues disappear. This even was held in the Old Stone House in Brooklyn, NY which is an old building that can present logistical problems for setup and execution for an event encompassing 85 guests. I hired this catering service solely based on reviews (and price). We did a tasting in the summer of their food, and it did not impress... That did not scare us away for two reasons. First, they had incredible reviews online. Second, they had the lowest prices for wedding catering I had seen by a LONG SHOT! And here's why: they do not provide any flatware, silverware, cups, glasses, napkins, or drinks. When I booked the company back in August, I did not think this was a big deal because I could just buy upgraded disposables. However, I had over 200 guests, which meant I had to bring boxes and boxes of napkins, plates, cups, etc. I did not just buy 200 plates, 200 cups, 200 forks... I had to buy enough cups for guests to be drinking out of new cups throughout the night, enough plates in case a pack was broken, plates for dessert, and it was a lot to manage. Here's the most annoying part of it all though: neither Art Factory nor the caterer provide water. WATER!! I had to BUY water jugs and bottles for my bartenders to give my guests. Bringing all the water, plates, cups, decorations, etc etc was how my husband and I spent the morning before our wedding, and that was definitely not how we wanted to. Day of, however, everyone from John Claude were all stars! The food was raved about, they were very communicative throughout the night with my and my husband, they often brought us food to refuel us. Kristi was also amazing. She was super responsive, communicative, and honest throughout the months leading up to the event. The week before, I met with her and my caterer and she had every detail planned, or helped me plan it out and execute. She was a rockstar day-of. My one piece of super-important advice when booking a caterer is to make sure you book their bartending service!! I hired my sister's friends to save money, but it was not worth it! We had to buy EVERYTHING: alcohol, mixers, shakers, rags, pourers, etc, and get it to and from the venue. Booking bartending through your caterer will also ensure you buy the right amount of drinks, and they will take care of everything for you. This is my one regret from my wedding. Another thing to think about before your wedding day is to have a plan for leftover food... There were 4 trays of leftover food and dessert Christie wanted to give us, but she asked at like 11pm at our wedding and we didn't know what to do with it. We figured it out, but I just wish I had a plan established for someone to take the food. If you have booked or are thinking of booking John Claude, their food was very very good, their staff was amazing, and they were very helpful throughout our entire night. read more

I am a pharmaceutical rep, have been for 7 years, and after finding John Claude last year they are my go-to catering company! I pretty much use them exclusively, for several reasons. 1. Excellent food, every time!! They've never messes up when there is an allergy and if an office has a specific request, they cater to it. A very picky office of mine that said to me "keep it healthy" was raving about Jonh Claude 2. Convenience! I can text Claude my lunch schedule a month in advance, or literally the day before if I forget or something last minute comes up. I've even done the 7AM "help me!" text and fanatic food always arrives on time. 3. Cost! A have a tight budget but with John Claude catering I can always afford all the lunches I want to do! 4. I'm so thankful to have found them (recommended by a friend) in a sea of overpriced, not nice, NYC caterers to cater our engagement party in NYC. Claude was a pleasure to deal with and he makes great food! The food was complimented throughout the party (still getting compliments!). He created a solid Italian menu including mozzarella and spinach stuffed chicken, peppered filet mignon, artichoke bruschetta, asparagus parm, risotto cakes, lobster stuffed mushrooms, and so much more. The server, Ali, helped to pour wine, made sure everything ran smoothly, made sure the food was served on time, and was professional and polite. Walking around the neighborhood is one way of finding new places. It's also a way to see if your town's economy is recovering. I found this place while just walking around. I initially wanted to just go to a well known Pizza place for lunch one Sunday but instead found this place which recently opened a few weeks or months ago. They're open from 7-7 during the week and 8-4 / 8-3 on the weekends. They seem to exclusively use Boar's Head products for their cold cuts, wraps and sandwiches. They've got a breakfast special which I didn't try out yet, but rather tried their cuban wrap which was good, it didn't have any after taste you would normally have when the pork quality sucks. They don't have seats inside, but just sell products for their catering services. read more

I cannot rave enough about John Claude's!!! They catered my wedding this past weekend on June 16th and it was absolute perfection! Eileen and her girls are fantastic! We attended, and helped to coordinate and run, a neighborhood dinner party for seventeen guests last night. John Claude was the selected caterer, and from what I've been told, were cooperative, accommodating and professional. Everything was delivered on-time and fresh. Erin, the deliverer, knew the right way to setup steam tables for a buffet, and was friendly and professional. A few minutes later, Heather arrived as the event's server and coordinator. Her calm demeanor and friendly outlook helped to make this party a very pleasant event. Dinner began with a very generous antipasto platter, featuring quality Italian deli and a very tasty olive and cheese vinaigrette salad. Chicken Sorrentino, Portobello Raviolini in a port wine reduction cream sauce and Steak Au Poivre were the chosen entrees, and each was delicious. The chicken remained moist and flavorful, despite its buffet table fate. The steak was tender and tasty, albeit under-seasoned (both salt and pepper) as an au poivre. By a narrow margin, however, the star of the buffet table were the raviolini. Pleasantly rustic in preparation, yet dressed in a flavorful cream sauce, the pasta portion held up very well-- remaining tender, without getting mushy. Nicely prepared fried potato croquettes added textural variation to the plate, and were quite good. The vegetable accompaniment, string beans almondine, were loaded with blonde almond slivers and were good. A few minutes of pan-toasting for the almonds would, however, have added a nice layer of flavor. Each of the dishes served generally demonstrated the type of balanced, yet complex, layering of flavors which would identify their preparation to have been by a talented and proficient restaurant chef. A platter of oversized cookies, complemented by platters of mini Italian pastries and cookies brought by guests, rounded-out a delicious dinner. This catering company is the least competent business I have ever seen. Although the wait staff were polite and cooperative with requests their readiness was second rate. They showed up to my brothers wedding and had absolutely none of the proper equipment to cater to his wedding. The food was terrible, I would have preferred McDonalds cater it. They had no lighters no bottle openers, no serving utensils and they ran out of sterno for the heating of the food. To top all off after dessert was served they left abruptly leaving all of coffee machines and heating trays at the wedding site. If I could give this company a half I would. Terrible read more

The service they provide cannot be matched. We usually give Claude the event details and he takes it from there. We've used the services in just about every county north of Interstate 195 as well as a few boroughs of NYC. They deliver, set up and provide everything needed.
