From the day it was put in, until the day it fell out on its own, it caused pain, gum swelling and intermittent migraines. I returned to Dr Sanford for 4 additional visits with the same concerns and reported pain. On the 4th visit Dr. Sanford was visibly angry and very aggressive in his approach in examining the crown and overall area in question. He was also insistent the crown work had been completed 5 years prior and vehemently disagreed with my statement of 4 months until he found the date in my medical records. After 4 visits with no visible progress made, and now having a frustrated doctor taking it out on me, I choose another dental group to reinstall a proper fitting crown. It, along with several other crowns that I have had for many years are working great! Between Dr. Sanford's inability or interest to make the appropriate corrections and his highly unprofessional behavior, I requested a return of payment. He wrote a letter placing responsibility on me, the patient, for the dental issues. He refused to reimburse but instead advised me to come in again to see what could be done. Candidly, when I have an issue with my car, I do not give the mechanics 4 chances to get it right. Why would I have a lower standard for my own personal dental health? The service provided was sub-par at best. At the very least, a refund should be made. Simply a dreadful experience!

I had a tooth ache and stopped by the office late on an emergency basis. The staff immediately took me in, made X-rays, and forwarded them to Dr. Toubman. He called my pharmacy, ordered an antibiotic to tide me over, then I met him the following Monday. He gave me options and has been checking in with me regularly to ensure all is okay. Dr. Toubman is one of a kind. I feel so secure in knowing he will do the best by me. I am so lucky to have Dr. Toubman right around the corner of my neighborhood. I was a customer for many years until the practice was sold to the present group/owner. on June 8, 2020 I had an appointment for a dental cleaning. I had Cigna dental insurance and they cover 2 cleanings per year. Before the dental hygienist began, she advised me that I was due for a full series of x-rays. I told the hygienist that it was ok only if they were fully covered by the insurance. She said she would check with the front desk. She came back and proceeded to take the x-rays. Months later I received a bill from their office. I called them, asking what the bill was about. They told me that it was for the x-rays. I explained that I authorized for x-rays to be taken only if they were fully covered. The receptionist informed me that she would take care of it. For months I kept getting the same bill and I kept calling them trying to get the matter resolved. After 6 months or so after talking from the receptionist to the office manager, I asked to speak to the doctor. He wasn't available. I asked to have him call me when he would be available. Never heard from him. For my next dental cleaning appointment I chose another dental office. Bills stopped for a while until this year. Got a call from Diana this morning inquiring when I was going to pay the $65.80 balance. I explained to her the entire situation again. Sher informed me that the insurance company did not pay for the dental cleaning and oral exam 100%. I tried to explain to her that they always paid 100% of cleanings in the past. I got off the phone and called the dental insurance company. They informed me that the dental cleaning and oral exam were fully paid at 100%, the x-rays were not. I asked for documentation, which they sent. I called back Diana from the Katz Family Dental care and tried to explain the situation, she kept interrupting and now telling me that the insurance DID pay for cleaning and oral exam, but I had a co pay or deductible that I had to meet. Once again I explained to her that I felt I wasn't responsible for that portion of the bill since I clearly stated that I would agree to the x-rays only if they were100% covered. She hung up on me. I'm not sure if the doctor ever got my message to call me back or not. Either way they lost me as a customer and also my daughter. She left because of other issues, I never talked to her about my problem with this office. It used to be a great place when Dr Viagrande ran the place!!!

I called the Dental Associates of Wethersfield after that and asked to be seen for a second opinion. They were able to get me in for a same-week appointment, and turns out I have no cavities! I am so relieved and I have Dr. DeFilippo to thank for that. He is very knowledgeable and put my concerns to rest.
