I need to say thank you. This morning I woke up in tears because I was stranded in a town I've never visited, with a completely disabled vehicle, and was 17 hours from home. My husband and I had no idea what today was going to look like or if/when we'd make it home. I called Statefarm and they recommended I take my car to your shop. When we called we talked to Julie in the Collision Department and she went above and beyond to help us. She walked us through our options, spent a long time trying to find us an available rental car, and at one point was even planning to drive us herself to Hertz after she got off of work. Because of her, we were now on our way home in a rental car and are able to pick out vehicle up at a later time. She completely turned an awful day around for me. Her customer service is beyond anything I've experienced before and I owe her the world. Give this woman a raise, promotion, or whatever you can give her. She deserves it! read more

They don't give employees any benefits at all. they don't help with health insurance AT ALL, they stopped giving full vacation pay. They treat the body shop like second class citizens, and they all walked out. Then instead of taking responsibility for being a terrible employer, fired the management. had a very frustrating experience with John Hinderer Honda when returning my leased vehicle. On March 3rd, I brought my lease in for return and specifically confirmed with the sales representative that I would receive equity from the vehicle and that there would be no restocking fee. We agreed on an amount, completed paperwork, and they took possession of my car that day. Weeks went by and I never received the check. When I called, multiple employees had no record of my vehicle or the money owed to me. Thankfully, I kept my paperwork. I eventually had to go into the dealership myself, where I again was met with confusion before finally being issued a check. The issues didn't stop there. A month later, Honda Finance billed me for a payment due March 15th--even though I returned the car on March 3rd. I later learned the dealership didn't report the vehicle as returned until March 30th. Because of their delay, I'm now dealing with billing issues that shouldn't exist. On top of that, I was later charged a restocking fee that I was explicitly told I would not owe. During a recorded 3-way call with Honda Finance, a dealership representative stated he would take care of the issue and asked where to send the payment. After the call ended, he contacted me directly and said he would not be paying it. I am now working with the BBB, the Ohio Attorney General, and Honda Corporate to resolve this situation. If I could leave 0 stars I would. There is a reason it's rated so low. In January 2025 I took my 2018 Honda Accord that had NO issues in for an 100k mile service package, and 4 brand new tires put on, all for 4k. At the time my car had 120k miles on it. Ever since this service was done I have had to constantly come back with different issues every time. First it was tire censor issues probably 3-4 times and each time having to pay a diagnostic fee of $200 just for them to tell me they fixed the problem and didn't. Then in November of 2025 my dash was lit up like a christmas tree and wouldn't go over 25 mph. They towed it in and told me I needed a new transmission. 5k later, not even 24 hrs later , every light on my dash was back on, but it would let me go over 25. they towed it back in, claimed they fixed it, got it back again, and you can guess, 24 hrs later again lights on the dash. After sending it in for a 3rd time they finally got it right. This time it lasted for about 3 weeks. Tire pressure issue would simply never leave my dash, and the sounds it made when I would turn was genuinely concerning. I took it to another place and they fixed something with the turbo and my car had never ran better, but they told me all of my tires are now bald. My car has 150k miles on it now. So not even 35k miles later and I have bald tires, I called and there's no warranty! Honestly just go anywhere else. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. I was a loyal customer for decades, but this experience has permanently ended that relationship. **Day 1:** I brought my nearly 20-year-old vehicle in due to a jerking issue. I never said the vehicle couldn't drive, and I was very clear that if the problem was engine- or transmission-related, I did **not** want to invest significant money into such an old car. I was told it needed a timing belt, water pump, compressor belt, radiator flush, tensioner, and other services totaling nearly $2,700, plus a credit card fee. **Day 4:** I picked up the vehicle. I didn't need to drive it over the weekend, and Monday was a holiday. **Day 8:** The first time I drove it to work, the same issue occurred. I had to tow it back--another 40-minute ride. I was told another transmission flush would fix the issue, even after I asked directly whether they knew the cause or were just troubleshooting. **Day 9:** I received a text recommending new tires and an alignment, which had nothing to do with why the vehicle was brought in. After continued lack of communication, I was told the flush hadn't happened yet and they were "looking for someone" to inspect it, then later "looking for someone" to test drive it. Around 6 p.m., I was finally told the issue was the transmission all along. I was assured the service manager would make this right, but when I arrived shortly after, I was told he had already left. **Day 10:** I was told they would look into a way to "make this right." I requested my car be towed back and asked for at least half of my money back, or possibly a trade-in discussion. By the end of the day, I was told it would take two more days to speak with the owner. **Day 11:** I took a day off work to arrange a rental and tow. I was repeatedly told the tow was imminent, but it didn't arrive until late afternoon after multiple follow-ups. **Day 12:** I was told a meeting with the owner was scheduled for the following Monday. **Days 14-15:** I heard nothing and had to continue paying for a rental vehicle while being over $3,000 out of pocket. **Day 16:** I was told my only options were a trade-in or paying for a replacement transmission. They refused to refund even half of the money spent, stating the repairs were justified because the vehicle "ran." The vehicle never had issues running. The problem was its inability to stay in 5th gear, making highway driving impossible. The services recommended were engine cooling and accessory maintenance--not drivetrain or transmission diagnostics--and did nothing to address the actual problem. I brought my vehicle to specialists expecting honesty, expertise, and clear communication. Instead, I experienced delays, confusion, and a complete lack of accountability. There are plenty of places to buy the same vehicle. The difference is service--and unfortunately, John Hinderer Honda falls well short. We have four young kids and depend on our van daily. When it's taken out of service longer than necessary due to poor communication and lack of planning, it's more than an inconvenience--it disrupts our lives. After a routine service visit, no one notified us the vehicle was ready. Then, less than a month later, we started receiving calls and texts about additional "open items" that somehow weren't addressed the first time. Most recently, we scheduled a battery replacement, brought the vehicle in, and were then told they didn't even have the battery in stock--meaning they needed to keep the van another day. No heads-up, no attempt to order the part in advance, no regard for our time. Vehicles are commodities. Service is not. Based on our experience, we won't be returning. read more

On 9/2 Honda was called and given a list of issues (my car wouldn't turn over, take a jump, seatbelts locked, lights were working so it wasn't a battery). I was told if we booked the service through them, the diagnostic fee would be wiped (over $185 an hour)- which was the reason I decided to use their service department. They said they would call me back when they found the issue. No phone call was ever made. Little to no communication was common- the 15 days they had my car (the first time)- 9 times I had to reach out to them first. 22 total calls were made. To spare the details- my car could not be serviced on multiple occasions because of sick employees, it was raining outside and lack of supplies to which I only found out when I called for a car update. Once the new computer was in and I anticipated picking my car up, they called to let me know my car still wouldn't start and it needed a new ignition (which was not on the original inspection I received & now I don't believe my car needed a computer at al as it did not fix the original issues) and it would cost around $900. I was informed they did not have the ignition in stock (again) but they would drive anywhere they could find one. After hearing nothing again- we called to find out they couldn't find one and we had to wait to order it. The ignition gets fixed and my car is ready to be picked up on 9/18- after the 15 day run around with them. When I get the bill- it is hundreds of dollars more than I was told. I asked where that money came from and they said in diagnostic fees to which I said we were told if we chose their service department that fee would be wiped. I was told by the service manager "I never said that and I don't lie". The kicker is, when my car was given to Honda, I had two working key fobs and when it was returned only one key fob worked. I also gave them a car with a remote starter which honda disconnected and will not rewire because it is a liability for them- I was told by the same service manager that I could take it to another shop to reinstall and it's only 4 wires- Honda never notified us when the remote start was disconnected- it would not be reconnected. Two days later- my seatbelt locked again- an original problem turned in 18 days prior. We took it back and we were told that would be a $185 diagnostic fee to which we lost our mind. I had my email with the original issues and they finally agreed to fix the problem without a diagnostic fee because of my paper trail. With no car- we waited an hour and a half for someone to be available to get the courtesy ride back home while the service was being done. To get a new seatbelt retractor, the cost was nearly another $900- with all of the issues we faced, we were offered a used part with a warranty- that part had to be ordered. We brought the car back to the service department days later and once the part got in they called to tell us the used part under warranty was installed but broken and they had to reinstall the original part. They offered to order ANOTHER part- at this point I said I am done working with them. Today- over 8 weeks after my original first appointment I was offered a $1,500 check if I bought another car from them as a "special gesture of appreciation". I have had to make 2 payments to keep his old bank from calling him and stressing him out as he is on a fixed income and cannot afford to make both payments. In July 8th I purchased a 2021 Buick Encore from here. I was not offered a car fax nor was I told the car was misery on wheels. I have had it for 5 days. 5! I had to go get my child in New Haven. I noticed cruise didn't want to work on way up. then the check engine sign came on. we hop on road back to Ohio and boom. car dead stops in the middle of I 78. I managed to get it off on Exit 60b. I called John Hinderer. first guy said not their problem. I called again and the second guy at least got me the warranty info. But not a single sorry or offer to fix the issue. now, bc of the breakdown, I had to pick a hotel site unseen in order for uber to pick us up. the hotel was atrocious so I ordered another room and uber. why does this matter you ask? because walking out of the first hotel I fell and severely injured my ankle. my elder mom and aunt came to get me and my daughters (yes, 3 females stranded). we are currently on the way home but the Buick is still in Allentown pa. I did speak to Justin Hinderer and he said if my car was valued right they could place me in something else. VALUED RIGHT?!?!? I know have a $16k payment, a broken ankle and now off work for 4 weeks. Went with my mother to help her buy a new CR-V. Eric was incredibly helpful and knew his product inside and out. After telling Eric to remove a bunch of add-ons the manager forced on to her purchase she agreed purchase the vehicle mostly because my mother absolutely loved Eric. Fast forward 6 weeks later and mom's old lender is calling threating her over a car that was traded a month and a half prior. She had just made a payment when she traded it in so the dealer had more than enough time to payoff her old loan. When we called the dealership Brandon? told us there was nothing that they could do and that all the customer payoffs were very delayed and a lot people are constantly calling in. Absolutely the worst buying experience I have ever had. I should have trusted the reviews but I wanted to do business locally. Every part of the process felt dishonest and it turns out it was because it was. After the test drive we went inside to hammer out the details. This is when things went downhill. There were things added to my purchase that provided no value to me that were priced at thousands of dollars. I asked if they could be removed and they said "what if we could add it and keep the payment the same?" I told them that was impossible because when you take things off the price goes down so unless they were lying the first time that couldn't be true. The sales manager acted insulted that I "accused him of lying". So got out my crayons to explain it to him and only then did it seem to click. I had not told them that I only planned on keeping the loan about 6 months so the amount financed was was most important but they kept trying to draw my attention to the payment. Ultimately I did not purchase because I didn't feel like I could trust anything the sales manager was saying. I arrived at service dept 10 minutes early. 2.5 hours later they told me my car was ready. 2.5 hours is ridiculous. I questioned the receiving employee and was told they do not know what is going on but apologized . Well I am done with Hinderer. If they cannot get a hold on their service department so the customer is not disgusted they need to revamp. Also the three other oil change people stated they were all scheduled for my time too. Sold my husband a great truck several years ago. Had a great experience! Decided to go back to them for a commuter car this past week. My husband test drove the car, put down a deposit. We came back together and test drove it again. Great. He bought it outright with cash. We left the lot and within a couple miles - the splash guard on the bottom fell off. Then a couple more miles and the tire pressure light came on. Then within 24 hours a "check emissions system" light came on. He messaged the associate that sold him the car. He said "bring it in, we will look at it" - when my husband brought it in they said it needed a new catalytic converter and it'd be $4000 since he didn't buy their extra warranty. They claim to do inspections on their used cars - so how did they not know that before we left their lot? They sold us a lemon and refuse to take accountability for it. Youd expect behavior like that from a sheisty used car lot - but not John Hinderer. I drove an hour to check out a bike for a test drive I scheduled the day before. When I walked in, I was told the bike was dead and couldn't start. I asked if they could swap out the battery. About an hour of waiting and not being able to find the original sales person I first talked to, I went over to the service area to ask if the bike was ready. This is due to a mistake on their end. Even spoke with the manager before making the second trip there, which is 2 hours round trip. It is sad that a big dealer like this can take advantage of people. Tom Kenworthy, General Sales Manager, should be accountable for his lack of customer service and his way of dealing with people. Long story short, we bought a $15000 car from the front of the lot and only had it one week before it was towed to the VW dealer with over $4000 dollars worth of engine issues and it's our fault because we didn't get the extended warranty. We drove it less than 80 miles. There is no way they didn't know this car had issues before they sold it. We thought with a supposed good dealer that we wouldn't have to take the car to a mechanic to get it checked for leaking oil and inoperable issues. If I wanted that kind of service and a fixer upper, I would have went to a buy here pay here lot. Sad thing is, I probably would have had a better experience at a place like that. I brought my car to this dealership over four weeks ago now because the side of my car was scraped pretty badly by a worker at my University. I had received the check from my University's insurance company and so I made an appointment to bring my car in. I brought my car in about a week later with my father, handed them my key and my check, and then left my car exactly where they told me to and then told both me and my father that we would receive a call in about 5 days as that was the amount of time it was supposed to take to fix my car according to the workers at this place. Well a week passed by and we had recieved no phone call. When I had called this place and asked when my car would be ready the woman on the phone told me they were still ordering parts for my car and never gave me an answer as to when it would be done even though I had asked her SEVERAL times... I wait a couple of days and so my dad calls and they tell my dad that they had no idea my car was even in the shop and that we had never even given them a check. At this point I am just baffled and pissed off. Now we are going to get my car out of this shop as no repairs have been made to my car even though it has been sitting there for over FOUR WEEKS NOW. If you are looking for a dealership full of stupid, lying, and lazy workers then this is the dealership for you! I stayed past close finishing paperwork so I left in a hurry. I met my family at bob Evans, two minutes down the road, and realized I should remove the stickers from the windows so I could see better. Upon removing a big blue sticker from the windshield, it revealed significant damage that was very clearly hidden on purpose. I was also told the detailing guys had willy nilly left early that day so no one was available to detail and remove the stickers for me. I went back the next day to confront them. Dave, the sales manager, was as slimy as they come. Very clearly lying about the whole situation. Calling me a liar. Saying I did this myself. And unprofessionally raised his voice with my brother when my brother fought back saying the situation was awfully fishy. After f****** us around for an hour calling me a liar, he agreed to replace the window (all the while telling me to make sure I didn't break this one too) He was very reluctant to put it in writing that he owed us a windshield. Made me cross my heart not to leave a bad review. Which I wouldn't have, because by the end of this I did feel weirdly guilty, but I was promised to be contacted the next day and I wasn't. So I took it upon myself to contact the previous owner. Who said that he was the one that damaged the window. A rock had hit it. Exactly where the damage was. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I called and spoke to several different people and always got an apology and "let me get back to you" with no one getting back with me. I spent a week researching purchasing a new Honda Odyssey and I spoke with Aspen over the phone about coming in to purchase one. I let her know that I live nearly an hour away and before my wife and I get a babysitter and drive out, whether the pricing on the website is accurate (can I really get that deal?). I also asked specifically if there were any dealer added items that were off of the normal sticker and I was told there were none. After we test drove the car, they gave us a proposed deal with pricing that was higher than the invoice pricing on the website for the other vans at that same trim level. After I pointed out this issue, the salesman and sales manager (Ronald) said the website was wrong and was going to be overhauled soon, so it isn't really accurate. I also brought up that they had added $2k in dealer extras, which I had been previously promised to me that had not been added. They refused to rectify the situation and said "since we have already added those items, there is nothing we can do." One of the items was a "protection package" for $1,289 that they couldn't fully explain what it included. I was lured in with a deal that did not exist and because of their dishonesty and unwillingness to do the right thing, we left. Buyer beware and be ready to pay much more! read more

Everything went good at first until i was told my certified pre owned 2018 honda needed a new transmission after a year of keeping up with it. turns out a month before i bought it there was a reported accident that was not disclosed to me before my purchase. yes, i did buy the car fax but it takes a month or so for that to show up on there so you'd think the place that sold AND repaired the car would disclose that to you. i guess not tho. now i'm ~$5K in the hole. thanks john hinderer honda read more

The renovation has made this dealership so comfortable for guests. I have my 2009 civic serviced here and I am happy to return. There is plenty of comfortable seating for guests to wait along with several televisions and a waitress providing food and drinks while we wait. Their prices for the services might be a little higher than Midas or similar stores but the professionalism of the staff and expertise of the service department makes up for the price difference. read more

After receiving an email from Jason Culver inquiring about the quality of our experience, I replied with the following: "Sept 14, 2020 Hi Jason, I'm writing to discuss our side by side. We had it picked up for service about a week ago. We were notified it was ready for delivery, but decided to inquire about tires and a warranty claim on our seats (separating from the padding). After not hearing anything on the tires after a day, I called back and was told "we are waiting for authorization and a quote from Honda." I explained to the woman who took the call that the quote is on tires - not through Honda. She replied by informing me that someone would call me tomorrow with everything. That was last Thursday. I heard nothing on Friday, nothing on Saturday, and nothing today. At this point, I would consider this a service failure and an opportunity for coaching of your staff on meeting set expectations - even if it's just a call to update the customer." Unfortunately, after stopping at the service department and calling again today, my wife replied to Jason a few days later with a follow up... "September 17, 2020 Hi Jason, We still had not heard back from anyone so I stopped by in person Monday evening and spoke with Blake. It was at that time that tires were finally quoted and ordered. I received a call from Blake earlier this evening at around 4:37pm telling me that our Pioneer was ready. I purchased an additional vehicle for our family in August 2021 that was supposedly reviewed by mechanics bumper to bumper as it was back in service still when we can in to test drive. Within that same month it had to be taken back for multiple issues (engine light, fuel pump, etc.). The sales and service were pushy and rude to a female buyer and even insinuated that my young driver may have been to blame as it drove off the lot fine. They did not properly review maintenance on the vehicle and were only looking to make a fast sale. I had to take the vehicle elsewhere to be serviced as I was now not confident with them. My wife bought her car here one year ago. A year after buying it she hit a deer and it ended up being totaled. She has had to call in multiple times with failed promises of someone calling her back in regards to getting the gap insurance portion handled. i would of gave this a zero star but you can't. absolutely the worst experience iv ever had after purchasing a car. I was told that the tags would be transferred in my name and that's wasn't done so my car was impounded for fake tags. when I called john hinderer honda and talked to a manager named Henry I was told that there is absolutely nothing that they can do to help me for their mistake.pretty much they I was told wrong info but they can't make it right. they couldn't help me get it out of impounded or even give me a car to get through the holiday weekend.
