Jim Hoge at Seattle Mortgage Planners just did an amazing job for us in getting our house refinanced, which was an obsession for me over the past three years. I'm a lawyer, and I've been a serial refinancer, but I also had a hard-to-compare house that was essentially underwater, so I was basically a broker's worst nightmare. Nonetheless, Jim was extremely always patient with my calls and questions and great about keeping in touch on his own, and in fact was always a real pleasure to chat with. Even more importantly, he stuck with me over nearly two years of ups and downs due to the market conditions and my own situation. In the end though, he was able to get us just the right loan at just the right time, where other brokers hadn't been able to. Once the time was right, Jim got it moving efficiently and quickly and he was always calm despite some curveballs right before closing. I should also add that I came to Jim also through Internet searching and was initially skeptical that the person in the Google ads and the website pictures was actually on the other end, but he really is and knows his stuff. I chose Jim because I wanted someone who was actually local after I tried to use an online mortgage matchup service that put me with an out-of-state broker that didn't know our market. Jim knows the Seattle market extremely well, especially my own quirky neighborhood (Q.A.), and that local knowledge really made the difference in key spots. I would never hesitate to use Jim again, but for the fact I think I now have a loan good enough to keep through the full term! If I ever do need another one, though, Jim will be the first person I call. I can't recommend him enough.

Frankly, Eric and his team at WA First Mortgage absolute blew us away…read more Not only was Eric's attentiveness and responsiveness a major contributing factor to our successful home purchase - but his team facilitated a lightning speed, 16 day close in an extremely competitive and strained market. When the seller's agent called him to discuss our credentials, and strength - Eric picked up the phone immediately and went to bat for us - which likely made a big difference in our offer being accepted over 8 others. Something I also feel speaks to the kind of service that Eric provides, is that he has the heart of a teacher. He helped my husband and I understand and feel very informed in our first home purchase. Received the WORST possible customer service from your agent ERIK AMES. He was very rude, arrogant…read moreand selfish. I applied for the refinance 3-4 weeks back. For the first 2 weeks there was NO RESPONSE from him. Then I sent him a reminder and only then he started working on my application. Even then, he MADE MISTAKES in the application (wrong loan amount, rates, etc.) for which I asked him to make corrections. He then SUDDENLY BAILED on my application (4 weeks already into the process) giving excuses that I am not valuing his time and that he has other clients. By then I had already invested a lot of my personal time into the process with this agent and was taken by complete surprise. He also ACCUSED me of FALSE allegations just because I asked him a few simple questions to conduct my due diligence on the clauses that I was signing up for, to which he gave WRONG answers. He used HARRASSING language such as (in his words on emails to me) "I'd have fired you if I had 0 loans in process" and "You're inability to understand the process is evident despite how many times I've explained it to you". He used INAPPROPRIATE HASHTAGS for me in his emails such as #entitledbrat #growup #byefelicia and even mentioned that I am following "flimsy standards and morals" in my job. I have worked with many lenders and brokers before who have been very professional but Erik has been the worst. I feel sorry for his other customers who have to work with him. I am glad I saw his true colors early and now don't have to deal with him. He exhibited unjustified bias, unprofessionalism, and harassed me with false accusations. I don't know why he chose to personally attack/target me. I would request Washington First mortgage to take immediate action on this, because no other customer should go through what I have suffered.
