Out of state on vacation and brand new brakes on our car, I feel a grinding in one of the front brakes. A rubbing sound without the rotors being wet. 900 miles from home and two days into a week long vacation and it becomes an instant issue. Called my dealer and then John Lee Mazda service center and they fit me in on a stacked schedule no issues. They checked breaks, greased them and even washed the whole SUV. Even though they aren't affiliated with the Mazda dealership I had the brakes and rotors done, they still did all mentioned. Very kind and knowledgeable gentleman at the service desk and we learned a lot about the newest Mazda SUV's out today with friendly staff throughout the facility. We've owned 3 Mazdas from the Mazds2 ,3 and CX5. Another new CX5 or 30 is in the near future. Solid cars and a vary clean and bright dealership with no hassle showrooms. The buying experience was alright. They told me the car i purchased was just serviced that day and everything was great on it. They lied, granted i am a younger female who doesn't know much about cars which is partially my fault. That aside it is utterly inexcusable to sell a car that has a 5 year old battery, an oil leak, low coolant, and sensor issues. I bought the car 3 months ago and drive it only to work and home. I had a very disappointing experience with John Lee Mazda. From start to finish, the process was full of misleading information, poor communication, and what felt like constant dishonesty. I was given inaccurate details regarding car payments, bank approvals, and the total price of the vehicle, and those numbers kept changing throughout the process. What I was initially told did not match what I was later presented with, which made the entire experience stressful and untrustworthy. It felt like I was being told whatever was necessary just to move the deal forward, rather than being given clear and honest information upfront. Buying a car is already a big decision, and the lack of transparency made it even worse. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated type of complaint..there are reports from other customers mentioning price changes after services and issues with transparency as well. Overall, I would not recommend this dealership if you value honesty and straightforward communication. We bought our Mazda cx-9 from John Lee Mazda and have had many, many engine issues, culminating in a national recall and a class action settlement over a known defect in the valve stem seals in our make and model vehicle. After the defect was repaired, we took the vehicle back for service and were told it needed a new valve cover, for nearly $1000. The service department acknowledged that shouldn't happen but refused to escalate the issue to Mazda to have it covered by Mazda since 12 months had passed since the replacement. "Too busy" to make a call to Mazda about it. Thought that might be worth sharing. read more

At the time I asked Devon if I could put a deposit on the car to hold it, any amount, he said no, but I'll make sure the car will be available for you. Got a call Monday from their call center and they sold the car over the weekend absolutely deplorable. We were picking up an insurance check on Tuesday and going to buy the car at John Lee and now we have to continue our rental car until we find another vehicle. This is very bad business. I would not buy from these people!!! Took my daughter there to purchase her 1st vehicle on her own and got sold crap!!! 1st the sales guy said the car was "just serviced " but yet the coolant was empty, then they took it back to fill it up and we left, got home and checked and they never filled it up. I asked the sales guy and he said he watched them with his own eyes ok. Low and behold, check engine light comes on. Take it to auto zone to check it and they said "are you aware they (John Lee Mazda) cleared the codes and that's why they are just now coming up again". This is why everyone wants dealerships to go away because they don't care what they sell you, they don't care about anything other than making that sell. Then the finance guy tried to scare my daughter into purchasing some add ons after I told them, this is her 1st car and we are keeping payment ls low. The service department is truly lacking when it comes to customer service. I moved away from Panama City last year however I was visiting family in Crestview and decided since I knew and trusted this location I would drive over for an oil change last week. I did not realize a simple oil change would take over two hours with an appointment. I was informed I needed my brakes done at which time I scheduled an appointment to drive two hours back the following week. Jeff the service manager offered me a free car detail I am guessing since he knew I could go anywhere but chose their location even though the oil change took way longer than normal. I explained to him if would be making the two hour drive over and my car would be in the shop most of the day I would need a loaner. He said that would not be a problem I would go in at 7:45 in the morning drop the car and my keys be able to grab a loaner and go to my dr appointments I scheduled that day since I would already be in the area for the brake job. Fast forward a week I wake up at 5 am get ready drive the two hours to the dealership. Upon arrival I mentioned I had drove over from Navarre and the guy from the service counter said "I thought you were coming from Crestview", which I thought was great they remembered I was driving in from out of town. He then informed me that they did not have a loaner vehicle that day. I reminded him about mine and Jeff's conversation the week before and he said he knew but they were down to only a few loaners and he didn't have anything coming back in. I asked to speak to Jeff, he was apparently not in yet. I asked if they could try to figure something out since I believed it was all worked out the previous week. About 15 mins later I was asked if I wanted to reschedule due to the fact they did not have a loaner. I told them no and then was informed Jeff was in. I went over to speak with him to find out what was going on, he informed me that he did in fact have a loaner for me the day before but was told by his "higher up" he had to give it to another customer. At this point one has to wonder how come the day before when they knew there was not going to be a loaner available for me and they also knew I was driving two hours how come no one took the time to give me a call and let me decide what my plan of action would be? I asked to speak to his "higher up" and was told Claude would not be in until after 10. I informed Jeff I would be calling Claude later in the day: I then spent the day going to my appointments and finally called Claude around 3PM. He said he had been advised of the situation and he knew I would be calling. So as I was explaining the situation as I knew it he said he did not know why the loaner car was given out the day before and he would have to ask Jeff, but wouldn't you know it Jeff was not in. Shocking. He also mentioned the fact that they normally have 30 loaner cars but they are down to 15. So when he asked what exactly I wanted him to do I then returned with the question of what did he think he could do to make this right. He got snippy with me on the phone and told me since I was not going back there was nothing more he could do than offer me a heartfelt apology. Wonderful! I woke up early drove 78 miles each way I did not get my brakes done or the free detail I was offered but I did get a heartfelt apology for them not being true to their word or even having the decency to call the day before and give me the option to at that point reschedule or try to make other plans. I called another dealership later to make arrangements to take my car in to have it looked at because I still need my brakes done and he informed me that Mazda pays the dealerships to ensure they have loaner cars for their customers and he couldn't understand why John Lee was not able to provide this service especially since it had been prearranged the week before. Anyway all of that to say customer service is important, communication is important, maybe this dealership has grown too big to remember that taking care of your customers is their number 1 job? read more

Was not very impressed when I first arrived. I walked around the whole lot and was never greeted. Walked in the door and was promptly greeted. There was a profuse apology for no one greeting me. The gentleman, Brian, I was speaking with on text and chat was not in so Jared helped me. He got the ball rolling. Came back the next day, Brian helped. He got me the price I was looking for and the finance department got me a better deal than I expected! Brian made sure I knew how all the features on my CX-5 worked. I brought my car in because it wasn't registering my keys therefore it wouldn't start. I had previously taken my keys to a key master to have them checked they are both working fine. The mechanic told me I need to buy a new key because he doesn't know what the problem is and that's just somewhere to start. They key isn't the problem and buying a new one isn't in my budget. The problem is somewhere inside the car they refuse to listen to anything I told them. Jeff (a mechanic representative) rudely told me that I could get a tow truck and get my car out of there, they will no longer be diagnosing my car. All because I told him I wasn't paying for a new key due to that not being the problem. I did indeed take my car somewhere else (Gem mazda in Tallahassee Fl) and they have done and amazing job.
