Brown ale. Limited head but delicious and creamy.
Bob J.

Looking for wings on our way out of Erie and back to Pittsburgh, we stopped here after seeing it on Yelp. Dry rub wings were smoky and good, but they have only BBQ sauce (which did not taste special) and buffalo sauce. The latter delivered too late for me to try it. In hind sight, if we wanted wings, we should have gone elsewhere. Pizza was also tasty although our first one, withe xtra marinara on it, was too wet and sloppy to eat. They gladly made another with extra marinara on the side. It was a veggie pizza and good, with marinara flavorful. Wife enjoyed a bottle ginger beer which she liked. Said it was strong of ginger which is good for her. My house-brewed brown (low ABV before a 2 hour drive) was true to style and delicious. If we lived in the area it would be on our rotation I think. Parking ok, ambience and seating also good. Service VERY good. Awesome communication.

On our way home, we pulled into a service station, and my wife warned, "Whatever you do, don't look left." When she returned to the car, she asked, "Did you look?" I replied, "Yes, but something's blocking my view." Turns out, it was a brewery--like striking gold! We had no choice but to stop in. Once we arrived, we headed straight to the bar. Our waitress had a quirky charm about her that made us smile. Instead of a flight, I dove right into a beer, though I did sample two before settling on the Oktoberfest, a delicious traditional Märzen lager brewed with Pilsner malt--so good! When it was time to order, she asked for a name, and I gave her my wife's. Her response, "Of course," was priceless! She even complimented my shirt, which proudly displayed my favorite college football team--also hers and her family's, as it turned out. In the end, we were thrilled with this unexpected find. Not only did they have fantastic beer, but the people were just as great. Cheers to stumbling upon such a gem!

Went to John Russel Brewing with my family and tried a few items from their Pizza oven! The Pizza was good but had a lot of topping's on it which made the pizza a bit greasy but still held a great flavor. The Carbonara was my favorite! Great environment, great and friendly staff and great beers.

This place is a home run! Very friendly staff, good beer and excellent taste food! It's a step above normal pub fare.

When we stopped in, the place was very crowded due to football games being televised.

Freaking awesome. Great place to enjoy a picnic table with the dog or inside in the air con (sans…read moredog). Easy, free parking. We are an hour away but we want everything on the menu. Loved the peach beer myself (just the one) and my spouse enjoy his 3 ipa's. Met good patrons, which always tells me about a place. Pickle pizza hit the spot! And to make it 100% id suggest adding Sriracha or ranch drizzle? It needed just one *something.* but also totally brilliant without.

We had been…read morelooking for a brewery in Erie to visit after the Erie Marathon whenever Lavery Brewing popped up on Yelp. This place is large and has both outdoor seating on the side as well as plenty of indoor seating. The inside looked like a mix of cozy and industrial, with a long wooden bar stretching the length of the room, warm pendant lights hanging overhead, colorful beer boards on the wall, and shelves lined with bottles and glassware behind the bar. It had a relaxed but lively feel to it. After looking around to figure out where we wanted to sit, we ultimately chose the bar. For lunch on this day I chose to go with the pimento smash deluxxxe while my wife went with the pesto pizza. The menu described my meal as two smash patties, bacon, American cheese, pimento cheese, and onion rings on a brioche bun while my wife's was described as parsley basil pesto, triple cheese blend, fire roasted tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. I thought that the burger here was delicious as the patties were seasoned nicely and I appreciated the onion rings. While there was plenty of cheese and it was flavorful, I almost could have used more of the pimento. Then my wife liked her pizza here especially the pesto combined with the fire roasted tomatoes. Then for drinks, as I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Lavery Brewing, a flight consists of 6 beers and I chose the Active Recovery, Seeking Clarity, Lime n Cuke, Throwing Tropical Shade, Sound Mild, and Divine Intervention for my flight. I first started with the Active Recovery which was light and hoppy and very drinkable. Up second was the Seeking Clarity which had a clean start before a heavy dose of hops in the middle which surprisingly didn't linger. Third was the Lime n Cuke which has a strong cucumber smell and the drink itself is dry like most goses with a mild lime and stronger cucumber flavor. Fourth was Throwing Tropical Shade and you could really taste the orange and other tropical flavors with a finish flavor of coconut. For me this was a really delicious beer. Up fifth was the Sound Mild which was light but you got the nice flavor of those toasted malts at the finish. Last but certainly not least was the Divine Intervention which had a strong coconut flavor on the finish. Out of the bunch my favorite ended up being the Throwing Tropical Shade. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed the beverages and the food and we left both happy and stuffed.

Had seen a number of recommendations on social media for the Brewerie as I am a train buff. So on…read morethe way home we decided to stop there. First off it's not hard to find via GPS but parking could be tricky and we ended up in metered parking across the way by the post office. The good new, the meters still take quarters and we had plenty. The restaurant and brewery are a museum. So much to see and a great gift shop. Train lovers ambiance with high ceilings and many original or well reproduced signs. Food was great from salads to burgers. Ended up getting a flight of beers. We were there for lunch and had very good service. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. There is also outdoor seating and banquet facilities. Should have asked for a tour but had to get going. Did grab a 4-pak of Swoop tallboys to go. Definitely recommend.

Lots of character defines the atmosphere of Union Station…read more We started with the pierogis and spinach dip. My favorite of the two was the spinach dip served with pub made tortillas. For lunch we tried the fish sandwich and soup / salad combo. Fish sandwich came with fries. Fish was on the small side and fries more on the mushy side. I had the onion soup and house salad. The onion soup is not French onion, it resembles it but actually has a sweet flavor. Salad was fresh, I added grilled chicken, it came with a tiny cup of dressing. They do use bottled dressing rather than house made. Our server had 5 active tables, even though she brought ketchup and dressing to the table, she didn't offer drink refills or check back after we received our food.
