We paid for the court time again this year (it's one night per week for 2 hours and we have 7 courts each week), and the club accepted that. They then suddenly, a couple of weeks into our season (which runs from September to May) told us that another client needed some of the courts on that night and that we had to give up those courts. This is AFTER agreeing to the usual arrangement AND taking our thousands of dollars. BEWARE making any agreements with an organization like this that treats its clientele so unprofessionally.

We…read morestarted the Pim Pam Pum program last year when our daughter was 5 years old, she had never played tennis before. The program was fun for her but she also got better every week. Then we enrolled her into the tennis summer camp and she made so many new friends and loved all the instructors. All of the coaches are super caring and good with kids. The program, led by Ivan and his wife, is very organized and offers fun activities for the kids beyond tennis. Our daughter loved it so much and improved in leaps and bounds that 3 of our friends enrolled their kids into the summer camp and private lessons. Our daughter is still going weekly getting private lessons and it's worth every penny. They teach everything the right way, starting from the fundamentals. We love Tennis Prime and all of their coaches!

The trails are on wide, level black pavement. It's a perfect time to take a stroll either individually, with family or friends, or with a domestic pet. While walking, I highly recommend wearing sunscreen and/or a hat. Drink plenty of water because there are minimal trees leading to no shade on the trail. If you want to get your heart rate up, go for a jog or bicycle ride. Multiple benches are stationed throughout the trails. Or, you can always bring your own lounge chair or blanket to find a quiet spot to sit and chill. It's a great place to set up a picnic while admiring breathing taking views of the Manhattan Skyline. During the warmer seasons, the Overpeck Park Kayak Center is open. Feel free to rent a canoe or kayak and paddle the Overpeck Creek. In addition to boats, the Kayak Center also rents out fishing rods for prospective anglers. However, a valid NJ freshwater fishing license is required. To avoid any fees, all visitors have the option to bring their own equipment. A fairly large playground is on site for younger children. They may play on the jungle gym, swing set, climbing webs, and slides. There are multiple parking lots available throughout the park. Some of them have an EV charging station for electric automobiles. It is equipped with a track, football/soccer turf field, 4 mini baseball/softball fields, 4 tennis courts, a playground for kids, a concession stand (only open during events), female and male bathrooms, and plenty of parking. More importantly, it is my playground for my outdoor summer workouts. I can accomplish many of my exercise routines on this track & field. Anything I imagine I can do it here, and I can get very creative with working out. From suicides on the field, sprinting up and down the bleachers, running laps (forward & backwards; must try), sit-ups, pushups, etc etc. After all that, I can kick the soccer ball around for extra cardio. Burning calories is easily done here, and getting burnt from the sun is just as easy here, too.

Location is just north of the clay courts on the grassy hill with some trees for cover and shade on the hill. Most people bring blankets because chairs are really only stable near the sidewalk or at the parking area at the top of the hill. Getting here is tricky if your map doesn't give good walking directions: GPS: 40.79786° N, 73.97636° W Arriving on foot- enter at 100th St, walk down and around a few curvy paths to find the bridge and underpass for the highway and then walk to the water and south from there to the courts. It's also possible to arrive by car in a small parking lot- but parking is limited and shared with tennis players so you'd want to arrive very early. The sound is projected into the hill; so it doesn't really travel too far beyond the picnic area and sometimes the sound team needs a little extra help, but the musicians are passionate and the scenery is lovely, so enjoy the free summer sounds and views!

Also it's good to mention that there are small pebbles instead of dirt so silver lining is you don't have to watch your dogs paws afterward. Parking is also available, but if you have a car I'd recommend going to the north Bergen park instead.
