This company has prevented me from getting the medical care that I need. I have been on their…read moresupposed "waiting list" since spring of 2021. I have had numerous conversations in the past with Victoria who has completely blocked me from being able to get the care that I need. I didn't find out until after my wisdom teeth were pulled that the migraines I have had my entire life are due to the malformation of the bone structure in my mouth. I had to jump through hoops with my insurance company in order to get out of network approval because 1 it's technically considered the result of TMJ even though it's not actually the joint but the bone structure itself, and 2 because there isn't anyone else in a 100 mile radius that we could find that does this type of procedure. I was told that in order to be seen and be put on the waiting list I would need to have x-rays sent over, which I paid for out of pocket and had sent over in approximately March of 2021. I had emailed and called numerous times over the first couple of years, all being told I was on the list. I was told by Victoria numerous times that they don't take my insurance, which I told her on each occasion it had already been preapproved because there wasn't any other option I could pursue. The only option I have to end my constant migraines was to have orthognathic surgery. On one of the last occasions because Victoria got snarky with me about billing she transferred me to a nice lady in the billing department, with whom confirmed that she has done out of network billing plenty of times. During our conversation I had made the comment that I had been waiting for well over a year to be seen. The billing agent was shocked because she had never heard of anyone waiting that long before. She transferred me back to scheduling to which Victoria told me that she was mistaken and that I was on "the list". This should truly be a form of medical malpractice to deny patients medical care that they need. I have lived with life long constant migraines that should have been resolved by now. Unfortunately they are not because Victoria has deemed that I'm apparently not worthy of medical care, and she knows that other patients are in more pain than I am as she stated after I said that I needed the surgery because I have at least some level of constant pain. People like me fall through the cracks because I'm just stuck with not being able to get medical care even though I need it, and trying to go through the Department of Human Services and filing a complaint doesn't do anything because I haven't even been seen as I'm still on "the list".

Though the staff was not the friendliest (seemed "too busy" to answer questions), the dentist was…read moreknowledgeable and took the time to answer questions. The billing department couldn't get it right to have our insurance pay for the procedure. We finally got it right but it shouldn't have taken three calls to their billing department and one to our insurance. Finally, they gave too much anesthesia to patient for procedure. No questions were asked about the patient's history with medication and, as a result, too much was given. Patient was groggy for far longer than normal for the procedure. Beware when dentists do their own anesthesia!

My family and I have been patients at Mequon Smile Design for the past couple of years, and we…read morecouldn't be happier with our experience. From the moment you walk in, the front desk team is welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful. The hygienists are excellent--thorough, personable, and they make every visit as comfortable as possible. The office is beautiful, and the technology and equipment are truly top-notch. I'll admit that going to the dentist has never been one of my favorite things, but Mequon Smile Design has provided the best dental experience I've ever had. What really sets this practice apart is the exceptional care they provide when it matters most. Two summers ago, my son had a surfing accident on a Saturday and broke off most of his front tooth. We called Mequon Smile Design, and within 90 minutes he was in the dental chair. They restored his tooth so well that he still made it to his baseball game that day. Then, just two weeks ago, he knocked out the same tooth again--this time on a Friday around 5:00 p.m. Once again, they immediately made time for him, had him in the chair by 6:00, and repaired his smile before the weekend. Instead of worrying about hiding his smile until Monday, he was back to normal that evening. They also go above and beyond in the everyday moments. They've accommodated my husband's challenging work schedule with early morning appointments, have always been understanding of my anxiety about dental visits, and make every effort to schedule our college-aged son during school breaks. Beyond the outstanding patient care, Mequon Smile Design is a wonderful community partner. They are active in the Chamber of Commerce, support numerous local charitable organizations, and consistently give back. I own Orangetheory Fitness Mequon, and they have generously donated thousands of toothbrushes and dental care products to our community events over the years. I recommend Mequon Smile Design without hesitation. They combine exceptional clinical care, outstanding customer service, and a genuine commitment to the community in a way that is hard to find.

I was a fairly new patient at Mequon Smile Design and recently had an experience that showed me…read morethis practice values strict policy over common sense. My son had a 3:00 PM appointment. When I realized I couldn't find my car keys, I called the office just before the appointment time to let them know I would be late or might need to reschedule. I called again at approximately 3:25 PM, explained the situation, and was told there was still time because the appointment was scheduled for 90 minutes. I specifically told the office I would take an Uber so my son could still make the appointment, and they agreed and encouraged us to come in. The office then called me at approximately 3:48 PM for an update. I informed them that my son and I were already in the Uber and on our way. According to my Uber receipt, we arrived at 3:48 PM. After a short wait, the office manager informed me they would not see us and charged me a $100 missed appointment fee. I was also told it would require a $100 deposit to reschedule. What made this especially disappointing is that my family of four has never missed, been late for, or rescheduled an appointment with this practice. Throughout this situation, I stayed in communication, followed the office's guidance, and made every effort to keep the appointment. The next day, my wife spoke with the office manager and received the same response, including being told that the practice "is not for everyone." I agree. The dentist was capable, but based on how this situation was handled, this practice is not the right fit for our family. I'm sharing the facts so others can decide whether this is the type of customer service they want from their dental provider.
