A great airport to get in and out of. Lots of parking and the TSA lines move too The terminal parking is close by. The price is reasonable

We flew in Thursday's night via Alaska for our cousin's wedding for the first time. Loved that is less stressed and traffic jams compared to LAX. Would recommend this airport if you have business and events in Westminster and Irvine since it's more direct and accessible to the freeway. This 3/5 review mainly for the Rental Cars access after deplane Alaska from PDX. There was no signs anywhere besides Ground Transportation and Baggage Claim. After we went downstairs and looked lost, 3 people included the information desk staff even agreed with us how the posted U-turn sign and Rental Car Sign for an opposite direction within 50 feet of each other were confused and unhelpful. After crossing the ground transportation on foot, we had to take the elevator down to the Rental Cars section. Thrifty Car Rental staff was so helpful and pleasant. We were in and out in no time. I never particularly selected specific car rental companies, yet I consistently found and enjoyed very affordable rate and quality service from them.

This is a fine airport. Nice and small, so if I'm a touch late I don't have to worry about missing my flight. They have some good restaurants which is good. It's easy to get into the terminal. And because it is very small, I can navigate quite easily. One time, my flight was changed from one gate and terminal to another and I didn't have to go too far so that was helpful. I don't mind coming here because of that. Good airport, decent food.

I prefer John Wayne (SNA) airport over LAX every time I have the choice, close to 405/55 and not as crowd as LAX. I checked my bag and cleared TSA in 10 minutes top. They have a USB charging port for every seat in the gate lounge. No traffic, no stress, just the way travel should be. Just hope my flight is on time :-)

First time using this airport for my California vacation. Like the smallness of it. Only funky thing was the interactions with TSA. Very salty. Till next time OC.

Picked up my boyfriend and friends from the airport on a Wednesday. This airport/terminal was very clean, quiet, and I was able to park and walk inside to meet them and I only had to pay $4, which was so awesome because most airport parking garages make you spend a crazy amount to park. I had no issues with my moments there.

Welp get here early as it's hard to find a Place to be dropped off if you're coming by Uber or Lyft. But Also be aware that their Rental car is NOT in the Airport it's in the Parking Terminal Next Building lower level.

Could not have been easier . I checked in the night before to my United Airlines flight and put the boarding cards in my apple wallet . Arrived at John Wayne early for my flight there were no lines and I strolled through security and got myself a Starbucks . All in all a very pleasant experience

This is one of my favorite airports ! The lines for checking in and security is always short , immediately after checking in you are usually right next to your gate. Great food options! I like to have healthy food options from a variety of restaurants and because the airport is not large your walk to different places is not far at all. The restrooms are always clean. I usually fly out this airport early in the morning so I have never walked in the restroom and it wasn't clean. This is huge because no one wants to be uncomfortable and disgusted. I do believe this airport can get more updated with the charging stations all of them require have the box (big part that goes in the wall) some airports I've notice would have it so you can charge with just the wire and have multiple locations in one terminal ... This airport the charging stations are behind the seats and if you're not sitting in that area - Tough luck.. need changing ASAP If you find a good flight and this airport is an option definitely recommend you choose , save time and fly in style !

No wide body passenger flights so it isn't inundated with massive crowds the way some airports are. The biggest drawback is the short runway which limits the size and length of flights available into and out of SNA. For international flights other than Mexico or Canada that means connection flights. The runway length also makes for a unique departure procedure where the planes take off and reduce the power and throttle at 800 feet of altitude. This can be disconcerting for passengers who are unfamiliar with the take off.

The layout is simple and plays host to Southwest, American, and a few others. It's easy... Terminal A, B, or C, and they are all aligned. They have some decent spots to grab food and bars if you're having to wait. Plenty of space with chairs having power-supply. Close to Anaheim, it can get busy for the Theme parks during the summer, but still no comparison to the congestion of most major airports. Using Ride Share isn't so bad, but you do have to make your way to Terminal C's Garage on the 3rd level. Everything is easy here so that's why the 5 Stars. Even security for me was quick (TSA) but also for non-TSA folks, I could tell they were moving quickly.

This is a matter of fact update and is based on sole experience of my recent visit. Hmmm, where to I begin? OK, my story will begin at my experience of checking into a departing flight out of LAX, Terminal 4, the terminal for American Airlines. Preface also by saying the terminal is under massive renovation and has been for some time and when will they complete it? Who knows? OK- Now Pay clear attention- I get dropped off on LEVEL 2 which is the departing level for all flights. My boarding pass is on my phone so I need not stop at the check in counters. I tried, TRIED to be smart and follow the signs as I weave my way through the terminal to get to the departing gates This starts my journey! 1- Signs take me from LEVEL 2 to LEVEL 4 where the TSA check in sites are albeit Pre Check, Regular, Clear and the like. Keep in mind this is just through the security where they check your identification 2- Once past the TSA check in lines you then take the escalators or elevators back DOWN to LEVEL 3 where you then go through the screen machines. 3- once past the screening machines you take the escalator or elevators BACK DOWN to LEVEL 1 (Level 1 is street leve, the place where you normally pick up your luggage on arrival then go out to curbside) NOW I AM CONFUSED. I'M TRYING TO DEPART AND I'M AT THE ARRIVAL STATION???? I look around for signs and there is none. I so I decide to be like a LEMMING and follow the other walkers.... You walk through the tunnels going back in towards the gates and there is counter foot traffic with the arriving passengers. What a mess! Once you get to the end of the tunnel, you will take the escalator or elevator UP to LEVEL 2, the walk to the next bank of escalator and take it UP to LEVEL 3... WAIT Not done yet!!! Then take the escalator UP to LEVEL 4 where the gates are! Did you follow all of this? Do you need a map? Footnote-it was 3643 steps (Yup, counted) ok my watch counted the number of steps it took from the point of getting dropped off at curbside then situated at my departing gate... Good luck American Fliers

The lines inside are also never too bad. I can count on this airport and it's efficiency. Only downside is that I wish they had more flights or offered better prices. It is always more expensive to fly out of here but it does save you from the headache of LAX. You have to weigh your options and priorities. I am willing to pay a little more out of here at times. I prefer this airport but it will come down to the price and how much more it is. They don't fly out too late due to the houses around. SYOY!

I was staying in…read moreNewport Beach for a few days and it was only natural to try and find a flight that landed here. The location of SNA is ideal if you're staying in the OC - the only other options in the area are SAN and LAX which are both over an hour drive away in either direction. The airport isn't large, but large enough to have several routes passing through it. The aesthetics are fine - not the most modern airport I've been to, and they seem to have a good amount of shops and eateries relative to their size. The rental car counters are super close to the terminal - I can't remember the last time I walked to one from baggage claim. My only real issue with SNA is that because of its size, you will likely be limited in routes. Flying from JFK to SNA was fine, but coming home my only options were connecting flights or a red eye. Neither were ideal, so I planned my itinerary accordingly to fly out of another airport. Overall, SNA is good for what it is, and a great option if you're visiting the Orange County area.
