This terminal is for American Airlines flights. Had a 2+ hour layover midday and it was standing room only. Very busy terminal and not a lot of dining or shopping options in this area. Starbucks and Sammy's pizza is about a 10 minute walk away (follow the signs to gates 41-43) if you're OK with walking and you have some time between flights.

I came in and out of terminal 4 on AA. I came on a small plane, and wasn't expectig to have to shuttle around to a completely different area. Very confusing, and i understand there is construction. I have a feeling its always under construction. Just be prepared to walk A LOT if you are coming in on a small aircraft. We shuttled across the runway, I could practically touch a wing that is how close they come. overall, do not recommend but what can ya do lol

AA terminal 4.. only had to go up and down and thru a vast windowless tunnel system like a prisoner to get here.

AA T4..Brand new design, state of the art. And still sucks. Who approves this crap!? Probly designed by the DEI crew straight off the short bus. Tight hallways. Feels claustrophobic and very confusing.! If you have PTSD double up your meds. I will not fly American Airlines again because of this. Good job kids. I would give zero stars if I could.

International terminal is very nice. Ironically the flooring looks the same as DFW terminal D. Lots of very nice stores and many food options. Did not see an Admiral's Club but I was in a hurry and didn't look. If you have time to burn this might be a good terminal to hang out.

Lots of construction so try to park by terminal 5 to get drop off. Lots of steps and escalators so definitely look for signs for direction. Wait isn't too bad but got to get those legs moving.

Ask the Community - LAX Terminal 4

Can I take a straight edge toenail clippers to the airport from the checked baggage?

You can check them in baggage, yes.

How do you get from terminal 4 to terminal 5 at LAX? I know there is a connector but I don't know at what gate.

Towards the end of terminal 4 right before gates 46-49, there's a set of stairs and escalators that take you down a level, and then another level. You'll see the moving walkways almost straight ahead. Take a hard right, a couple feet down you'll…

Los Angeles, California…read more.. One of my most favorite places to visit. I used to arrive at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport), but in stopped because Hawaiian Airlines got moved over to Tom Bradley Airport (International Flights) instead of being at Terminal 5. I strongly disliked dragging my luggage from Tom Bradley Airport to Terminal 5 where the rental car shuttles were. I tried Long Beach Airport, but they close early and so do the Rental Car Companies... then I get stuck without a rental car if my flight is delayed. I switched to Ontario International Airport, but this time, I needed a red eye flight which LAX had because of the merger with Alaska Airlines. It's complex, but there are some benefits (such as more flight chouces) to switching back to LAX. I'm super happy that we landed at Terminal 6. Why? 1. The rental car shuttles stop here! 2. There are several restrooms between the gate and Baggage Claim 3. Directional signs are clear and numerous 4. The environment is modern, bright, spacious, and clean. Perhaps I will return to Terminal 6 in the near future!

It definitely helped make the security process feel much smoother and less stressful. Waiting for and boarding our flight also went pretty smoothly overall. The only downside was that the seating near our gate was completely full, so we had to sit by a nearby gate until boarding started. But once we got on the plane, everything went great! We even ended up arriving a few minutes earlier than expected

When I know I'm flying out of this terminal, I don't think about getting to the airport early. Whereas if it was another terminal I absolutely would. Staff generally are annoyed but not as bad as JFK. They ain't winning awards for customer service but they do explain things pretty well. This time around I flew out of gate 52D. If you're in any of the 52 gates other than A or B, know that you need to get to the 52 gate and then you'll have to chat with a gate agent, scan your boarding pass, then take another bus to your gate. Thats how big LAX is. You need to jump on another 5 minute shuttle ride to get to your gate. The 52 gates aren't world class. It's pretty old. Probably just neglected since most of the flights here are regional / short distance flights. There's flights to Seattle, Bay Area, etc from here. Overall verdict - you could certainly do worse. But for how big it is, I think it's a pretty well oiled machine. And that in of itself earns a 3 star from me.

On our last flight from LAX to JFK, we had a 12am flight and traveling with our 3mo old puppy and everything was easy breezy. We got to our parking (cheap) reservation on time, didn't wait too long for the shuttle and the agents for JetBlue were so helpful AND loved my puppy, made our night by taking pictures of/with him. There were lots of (clean) restrooms, quiet area, unfortunately all the restaurants were closed but otherwise, no problem flying out from LAX at all

It's been a source of controversy for decades! Capping decades of legal battles & protests! One of the oldest in USA! Airport land converts into Park! Meanwhile they shortened the runway to limit jet flights! By the way, this is where Harrison Ford crash landed onto Golf Course instead of a runway! This general aviation airport, naturally long favorite of celebrities & biz heads, had its share of public scrutiny just like many other non commercial airports in California. Like my San Carlos Airport SQL or Palo Alto Airport PAO. Historic significance lays in the fact that famous DC-3 & military aircraft was produced by Douglas Aircraft Co in Santa Monica at the airport before it had moved to Long Beach. Famous tenants like Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise & Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with others, average daily 250 takeoffs & landings, that's a lot of noise! Neighbors in Santa Monica didn't want harmful exhaust, emissions, fueling, lead & carbon, pollution, and noise! At the same time, its use during WWII for military purposes had federal agreements for FAA to allow operations. So various aviation interests contended with the City of Santa Monica over its ownership. They reached the agreement after endless litigation to return the control of the airport land to the city. And at the end of 2028 the city is free to do what they want with 227 acres of airport land! *The one who should care Does she or doesn't So let the beat roll on I'm 'bout to get in the zone I been locked up all by myself But I'm known to grow my own I burn it till it's gone Like there ain't nothing wrong I'm just out in the shade Watching the world go up in flames [ Review #828 w 3 pic Feb 15, 2025 ] Here, can't complain! @Santa Monica Airport CA Thur 2/6/25 Going home tonight!
