    "Philly Steak Pizza".

"Philly Steak Pizza". No sauce is present on this pizza. Nothing on the menu indicates that the Philly Steak Pizza doesn't have pizza sauce. Melted deli square slices for cheese?! (see photos). We called the restaurant to give John Lucas' Pizza the opportunity to make the pizza right and we were told that they make the Philly Steak Pizza "White style". This pizza has no white sauce or apparent olive oil. I ate one slice and it was one of the saddest, most basic, lacking in flavor slices I've ever eaten. Would not recommend.

Best Italian dinner i had in awhile. The sauce was excellent, the salad had alot added to it too, olives cucumbers tomatoes and onions. Tired of getting plain old lettuce and tomatoes from other restaurants. The hamburgers are real beef and very big, best hamburger I had in awhile besides the OC Grill in humeville will be saving as my go to favorites for more Italian meals haven't tried pizza but will be trying more things on the menu. Great to finally have good Italian food so close to home

I don't know who John Lucas is, nor how he learned to cook Italian food, but his small casa Italiana has it going on in the cheffing department. Bailey's Center now has a bona fide first rate pizza joint on the premises. We visited for the first time Friday night. The dining room is small (3 booths, 6 tables), so the reservation made sense. Our booth had been set aside and prepped for our arrival. The house is cozy, and feels a lot more comfortable than it appeared from the outside. The menu is lengthy, with choices from pizza to full dinners and everything in between. We began with bowls of pasta fagiole soup that arrived just after a basket of hot bread knots. Both were excellent. The soup was full of short pasta tubes and white beans in a smooth veggie stock. The bread was out of the oven reheat, yet crisp on the outside and tender soft within. It was mildly salty with great texture. Perfect for dipping in the soup and the platter sauces that followed when unwound and pulled apart. Entrees were chicken francaise and veal marsala, both over penne aglio olio. The francaise was wonderful. Egg dipped, pan sauteed in lemon and white wine. Delicious! Three medallions turned golden brown and tender enough to be cut by my fork. The penne beneath was also very good with the melding of the juices. Lemon and garlic are a great combo. The only disappointment was the veal. It was too thickly cut, not tenderized, and a little tough to chew. Too, the marsala sauce was off, more like the wine was turning to vinegar, making for a sourness that was not appealing. Service was friendly and accommodating. Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience at John Lucas. Far better than expected. Still, it wasn't perfect because of the marsala issue. Definitely worth a try. 4 Stars.

This place is the textbook definition of "underwhelming." I was considering going with 3 stars, but I figured if it was actually 2.5 stars in my head, I'd round down. I ordered on Grubhub for a lunchtime delivery around 1 pm. I ordered the "stuffed shells lunch" (as opposed to "stuffed shells dinner" which was $1.50 extra and no difference explained under the descriptions). I chose the soup as the side. I also ordered a "chicken cheesesteak: the works," which was a normal chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms, green peppers, and onions. I elected to have ranch added to it. For these two items and a drink, it was $25 for the delivery total. Delivery was prompt and the delivery guy was courteous. That's where the "good" ends. The stuffed shells were the first thing I tried and also ended up being the worst. The texture of the inside was the worst of any stuffed shells meal I've had in my life. Usually, the inside of stuffed shells holds a filling that is deliciously creamy, soft, and smooth. The filling was clumpy, hard, and chewy. You can probably see this nastiness from the pictures. Yuck. I would completely not recommend their stuffed shells. It was hard to eat, but I tried to finish it. My mind couldn't bear the gross texture. 1.5/5. The free bread that came with it, which looked like an oversized, non-garlic, garlic knot actually tasted better. Next was the chicken cheesesteak. It was very average in almost every way. The flavor was meh. The main annoying thing was that the chunks of vegetables were bigger than the actual chicken chunks. The chicken pieces were like 1/3 the size of my pinky fingernail. The vegetables were cut like 2/3 the size of my actual pinky finger. This made it hard to get just the chicken bits when I wanted to give the rest of the sandwich to my dog. The taste was nothing spectacular. A solid 3/5 at the very best, and I think even that is pushing it. I'm glad my dog helped me finish it. The soup was also a little sad. There was an overly thick layer of grease at the top when opened, which I get is normal with a lot of soups. But the odd part is that when I kept stirring, it didn't go away. There were a ton of small grease bubbles throughout the soup. The flavor just wasn't that good. The chicken bits were chalky and flaky like tuna, which is reminiscent of heavily mechanically processed chicken bits, like those from many canned soups I know of. I'm glad it came free with the pasta because I would've been upset if the meal cost any more than it did. No reason to come back here or recommend it to anyone else.

Order took over an hour to be delivered. I called the restaurant after an hour and was told it would be only a few more minutes; 15 minutes later it arrived. The pizza we ordered was burnt. The pasta dishes were in dire need of salt; seriously, an Italian restaurant/pizza place should know enough to salt their pasta water. French fries were cold and soggy, but I'm going to chalk that up to the hour+ delivery time. We asked for salads without tomato and onion...they hid them under the lettuce; I guess they thought we wouldn't notice.

Awesome food... Everything here is freshly made. Calzones are the best ever and all the pizza selections are good. The guys who work there are always checking to make sure your satisfied and delivery is hot all the time. I think this and Julios are the best places around

    A BUG IN MY SOUP!!

Just ordered chicken noodle soup from John Lucas and it had a bug in it!!! Completely disgusting.

What a wonderful little find. Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice clean interior. Mediterranean panani was good, much like a greek salad on bread. Other guest had the Texas panini and wasn't as thrilled with it as the rest of us with our choices but still good. I had stuffed shells Which came with a salad and bread. I was very impressed by the salad to start. Obviously not your typical out of the bag mix thrown on a plate. Fresh cut greens which were crisp. Hand shaved carrots, cucumber, red onions, black olives and tomato wedge and it was a nice size salad! The bread looks like a cinnamon roll but isn't. It is crisp on the outside and doughy on the inside. The best part is when you untwisted it, it was perfect for mopping up sauce from the stuffed shells. The shells were a little al dente but that is how some prefer. Only wish is that it were a little hotter. My daughter had pizza which she said was delicious and exactly what she was craving was a real ny pizza. The menu is four pages long so if you can't find anything I don't know if it's out there! Plus to top it, my food was decorated with an orchid flower. Don't know why but it made me feel special, just that extra touch of cAring about the dish.

That's when I came across Fratelli's Restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the best dining decisions I've made in a long time. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the level of service. The staff had prepared a beautiful table for our group, and from start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. I'm disappointed that I can't remember all of the servers' names because they truly did an outstanding job. Every one of my guests commented on how delicious the food was. My chicken dish was outstanding--easily one of the best meals I've had in quite some time. The quality of the food, combined with the exceptional service, made for an unforgettable evening. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did to make our experience so enjoyable. I hope this message reaches the chefs and everyone working behind the scenes because they are incredibly talented and should be proud of the work they do. I'm not sure when I'll be back in the area for another tournament, but one thing is certain: anytime I am nearby, I will absolutely be making a reservation at Fratelli's. A huge thank you to everyone for providing such an amazing dining experience. If you're looking for a great restaurant, Fratelli's is a must-visit. You will not be disappointed.

The entrance when you first walk in is a little uninviting. They had a partition screen blocking the view of supplies. It is where you wait when speaking to the hostess. The outside of the building does not do it justice. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. All of the servers and staff were friendly and professional. Service was quick. I had the eggplant parm. It came with spaghetti which was ok. I usually substitute veggies or another type of pasta. I just didn't ask for some reason so not sure if they offer that. I really liked the eggplant. It was breaded but still crispy with the cheese and sauce. Their sauce is chunky and a little sweet. It was a really nice portion and took 1/2 home. I tried some of the pasta Al forno with sausage, meatballs, penne, etc. Delicious! I definitely recommend that dish even after just a few bites. The entrees come with soup or salad. The salad veggies were fresh and it was a good size. I tried the pasta fagiole soup but wasn't a big fan. It was underwhelming - lack of seasonings and it could have been hotter in temperature. One thing I thought was odd was our server never asked us if we wanted to order anything to drink. Gave us a pitcher of water and that was it. I know we could've asked if we really wanted soda or tea but just thought it was odd to go right into the food order. Overall I would go back. I think a reservation is good suggestion for the weekend. And they have a gluten free menu if you need it!!!
