My husband and I wanted to do a chicken cheesesteak tasting at our local restaurants. We ordered chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms to go from three places and brought them home for the tasting. All were similarly priced. MaGerks was overfilled with the meat, cheese and mushrooms. We took some off and made another sandwich with a roll we had at home. Next time we would ask for it to be light on the cheese. It also came with a small bag of potato chips and a firm pickle. We think this might be the best out of the three if less cheese. Clubhouse cheesesteak is a go to for us. It is consistently delicious. We had a choice of fries, chips or coleslaw and we went with the chips plus there a few pickle slices. Francesco's cheesesteak was good but it had a different chicken taste. It came a la carte and was noticeably smaller. The bread wasn't as good either. This was our least favorite. Last week I compared their pizza to Delorenzo's same day (my previous all time favorite) and I have to say, imo Francesco's Brooklyn pie tops it.. My wife, two little girls, and I were on a road trip yesterday and we decided to try this place out and OMG it was such a treat !!! We were looking for a place that was kid friendly and yes it was. They have chicken tenders and fries on their appetizer list and you can get a personal size pizza that is perfectly good for a child under 12 years of age. The ambience is definitely good, and the service was absolutely stellar. Notable Mentions: Our waitress walked us through many options, and she was patient with us, since it was our first time there. Kudos to the management team and the wait staff because that is HUGE. The food came out very very fast to our surprise and it was piping hot and our two little girls were super satisfied. My wife and I enjoyed a cheese steak and a personal sized pizza that we split together and we drove back to the DC area with full stomachs and smiles for the whole ride home. They have great pizza, a special salad with nuts and fruits in it that I love and chicken salad, which I usually have put on that special salad. My son and I eat there or at home, ordering in at least once a week and it's reasonable. I highly recommend them. 2 small things bother me. . They charge you extra if you use a credit card which I understand and I am fine with. I think, though they should word it differently they should put the price of whatever as if you were paying for cash and then if you were paying it with a card, add on the extra 4%.. I feel like I'm being punished. The way they do it.. sometimes they don't go there because i don't have cash.. The other thing that bothers me, but I just don't buy it, is their soups. They have pasta Fasoli and chicken soup. They taste exactly the same except there is chicken in the chicken soup, but it is not chicken broth. The base is exactly the same. I just don't buy it. What goes best with free red wine from the hotel...? Pizza! Read the reviews about Francesco's and thought I would give it a go. The person answering the phone was very helpful and easy to deal with. Ordered delivery and I must say it was the fastest delivery from order time to arrival that I've ever had while traveling. The pizza (and salad) arrived fresh and quick. Ordered a large cheese pizza with chicken and spinach. As you can see in the photo the toppings were a plenty. I would like to have a little more sauce but no complaints as the pizza was delicious. The side salad (1/2 salad) was very generous in portion. The house made balsamic was very good too. But still pretty good! Pizza: ordered a Brooklyn Style Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and basil) it was a square cut pizza. It's a size of a large pizza. The tomato sauce used in the pizza was amazing. Def one of the best pizza sauce I've had. It not a simple basic sauce, it had a really good flavor and tasted very fresh! The crust was pretty good, it was thin crust and well backed. The guy working there that took the order was super nice because with first time being there I asked him a bunch of questions and he answered them well. Because I had a bunch of things to carry, the pizza box tilted a little and when opened, it had moved inside and slices had gotten on top of other slices and pretty much messed up the pizza. Our "go to pizza" place. Always excellent. Delivery tonight during COVID-19 was unbelievably fast. We were told when we called it would be an hour delivery time which was fine with us ...so we were shocked when it arrived within 12 to 15 min from my call. It was as quick as if we were seated in the restaurant. The food was still very hot, plentiful and fresh. All 6 of us enjoyed our choices and it was packaged very nicely. We were shopping in the Newtown area and had a hankering for some pizza. We found this place oddly in industrial area, but glad we did. We got a few different slices to share. Standouts certainly were the grandma slice and the Brooklyn slice. The ranch chicken was good but a few of the others had a thicker crust. We really prefer the thin new york-style crust. I'm glad we stopped by and when we're up this way again we for sure going to check it out for some other slices. read more

Decided to try a new place for lunch today and was surprised to see that this is right next to the gym I go to, the Newtown Athletic Club. I was delighted to see from the menu photos here that they serve garlic bread cheesesteaks! However, some of the photos of the menu here from previous reviews are not up to date, and the prices have increased. (A previous photo shows a garlic bread cheesesteak as being $7.80. When I arrived today, the menu said it was $8.20.) Also, their menu does not include the price per individual slice or what variety of slices they have. Upon arrival, there is a big seating area in the back that appears to be very clean, even with all of the customers enjoying food during the busy lunch hour. I commend them for that! You order at the counter and can then choose to sit in or take out. You choose your own seat. What I found initially odd about this setup was that I paid at the counter for my food, and on the receipt was a spot to tip. How can I tip before I even receive the service? For that reason, I opted not to put a tip on card. We ordered a pizza slice with chicken, blue cheese, and buffalo sauce; a roll with ham, pepperoni, salami, and mozzarella; and, my favorite, a garlic bread cheesesteak. The food arrived promptly after ordering. The wait was probably less than 10 minutes, although I didn't exactly count. The slice was good, but not my favorite thing I have ever tried at a pizza joint. The roll with meats and mozzarella was very good! The meat flavor came through, and when paired with the acidic marinara dipping sauce on the side, and the mozzarella gave the perfect stretch/gooey factor. Finally, the garlic bread cheesesteak was excellent in the spots that it was excellent and not as great in the spots where it was not as great. As you can see in my pictures, the sandwich bread is not completely coated in the juicy, buttery, oily garlic mixture at the outer edges of the sandwich. Thus, the most scrumptious parts of the sandwich were those on the inside of the bread... you can even see the difference in juiciness from the front profile view of the sandwich. The meat glistens with garlicky goodness on one side, and appears dry on the other. Absolutely 5/5 for those moist and delicious parts. Rating overall lowered for the garlic bread not being completely "garlic bread". Would recommend this place to others and would probably come back if I was in the area! read more
