Johnny B Goode Ice Cream Parlor does the trick if you're looking for a place you can buy fudge and an ice cream sundae. It delivers on the hot fudge aspect of the latter (always surprising to me to find ice cream shops without hot fudge), but the ice cream itself wasn't memorable. The two gals working the counter were friendly, but didn't know a lot about the flavors on offer and were quite simply wrong about something one of the flavors contained. Not a huge deal for me, but I wouldn't recommend this shop if you've any allergies. Overall, an old-timey-ish, somewhat pricey ice cream parlor. read more

Poster said they are open at 12pm on Memorial Day. One worker walked in at 12pm and was not ready to serve ice cream. We were told at 12:15 it would be another 5 mins for window service and a half hour for inside service. We left disappointed because last summer we had a great experience there. read more

Other group next to us didn't obey the rules, but the employees did try to herd them, although it was in vain. They just didn't care about personal space. But other than that, it was a good experience with the ice cream, and smoothie, and staff. I did get a latte, and it wasn't very good. Genuinely the best ice cream I've ever had. The owner is nice, we rented out the space on top of her shop, and there was a hot tub, and it was nice and clean. The (mostly teenagers) who work there and nice and friendly. There's a myriad of flavours to choose from, and they're all wonderful! Prices aren't too bad for good ice cream either. WOW - I've never been so irked by an ice cream shop before - but it's a minor miaricle this place is still in business...despite itself. We were walking through the neighborhood, and stopped for a late night shake. The place was crowded...and now I know why...the wait. The had 4-5 kids working the counter...but only one of them was working the outside window. She was taking one request at a time...took over 30 minutes to serve 2 families. I ordered our 3 milkshakes ... and waited another 10 minutes for her to make them...we paid "extra" for "hard ice cream"...but the shakes were watery...just not even a hint of ice cream... It's obvious that this place has no manager ... training ... or supervision...it's just by shear lack of competition (no other ice cream shops around) that it's even open... I'll NEVER go back...especially for a $5.70 cup of weakly flavored water passing off as a milk shake...the machine at Wawa would have provided a MUCH better product, in 100th of the time. Take my advice and head to the boardwalk and let George's Ice Cream satisfy your needs. read more

This is a no frills sort of Ice cream parlor catering to locals and tourists. They have some imaginative specialties, offer Breyers brand of Ice cream and can get pretty busy on the weekends. I tried a pretzel cone with vanilla custard and Jimmies (sprinkles for those not in the south jersey area) I found the cone to be a bit on the thick side, everything was alright. Wife had the Peanut butter ripple, was pretty good. I did see some signs for children's activities, but don't remember the times or days. read more

Only ok. We wanted to try an local ice cream shop that's around the corner from us. It took a very long time to place our order. First we waited at the outdoor window, not knowing there was a door to go inside. The person in front of us waited a good 15 mins before someone even came to take his order. Then we noticed there was another line inside the shop. We got 2 soft serves and an ice cream cone. They were all only ok. The soft serve melted so fast it must have been full of air and water. Good ice cream. fun theme. But what sets this place apart is the novelty. the sock hop and karaoke fun are for the little ones. The truly exceptional night is Friday. The Kids and I have been coming to see the Friday night Magic and juggling show since my kids were born. The show on Friday night is phenomenal. The performer used to do cruise ships and big casinos City shows , now he has a full-time job but still loves to perform so you're getting quality professional show much more than you would expect from street performer... for free totally worth it..
