I called to inquire about getting a quick scissor mens haicut for myself and 18 year old son, I pass the shop regularly and due to my barber of 25 years retiring in Austin I figured I would call and see wht they chrge and if a appoiuntment is needed or if a walk in works ? The person at the other end of the phone (male) answered the call like he was talikng to some body from his hood ? no introduction, no anthing other then "what ?, thats all he had to say i asked my questions and got a few unhelpful answers. I decided to look for another outfit and saw their reviews on yelp, Good luck staying in business, I predict inless the management style changes drastically they wont ak it 5 years before clsing the doors with a pile of debt. Never been here before and loved tue vibe of these laid back, cool ass cat giving fresh cuts. The barber that cut my mop did a fantastic job. He was like an artist working his craft: took his time, checked every angle, making sure everything was perfect. Even after he styled my hair, i got up thinking i was done, he said to hold on as hed seen a few areas that needed minor trim. Yeah, super happy with my haircut. I went and it was barely faded on the sides, i request "Can you cut a little bit more of the top back and front?" the barber proceeds to butcher my hair and make it really short. I do not recommend Johnny G's. And i also don't think it's a hostile environment for children. I'm a freshman, and some boys my age know how bad guys can be about making fun of people and laughing, and yes hair grows back but also i don't like being made fun of. I arrived at 12:15 on Saturday and was a walk-in. I person walked in just ahead of me. I was told that I would be next after that person. I said that would be fine. At 12:30 a man came in and said that he had an appointment at 2:00 and wanted to see if he could get in earlier. They asked him to have a seat. By the way, only 1 barber on duty during this time. When he finished with the person who came in just ahead of me at 1PM, he seated the person who had an appointment at 2PM. I was told that I would be next but was bumped for a person who had an appointment in 1 hour. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. I advised the barber that it was not right and that I was going somewhere else when I was told that I would be next after the person who walked in ahead of me. VERY RUDE. read more

Oscar does an amazing job cutting my son's hair. Unfortunately, he wasn't available to book for today so we booked with Johnny. He cut too much, even after my son showed him a picture and told him how much to cut. Johnny pretty much ruined my son's hair. Yes, hair grows; but we're going out of town to a party and there's no fixing. My son's really mad, and he has the right to be mad. And I'm mad as well! Definitely not going back! read more

First time I got a good cut, second time wasn't great but I thought maybe it was just an off day... third time confirms that this place is not as advertised. Definitely the barber shop vibe, but two shit haircuts. Neck still hairy, uneven trim around my ears, fade is not even.... I booked an appt online, but when I arrived (on time) each barber just started a new haircut job - so they did not save a spot (what an appt is for). I waited for over 45mins while they joked / took phone calls before I left without a cut. Aside from the terrible wait / appt experience, the staff is not friendly. I have to say that we came here to find an old barber we liked. When we arrived, Gus was there but busy. I asked if we could wait or get Johnny instead. Johnny said he had appointments. He told us to use one of the guys that was sitting doing nothing. The cuts started ok and looked somewhat ok as they were finishing up. However, once our hair was dry, at home, the story changed. My younger sons hair is so badly butchered. There was no blending. A small area above his ear is completely missing hair! Half of the back of his head is longer than the other side - need I go on? My other son has a part now - that is permanent! It was actually shaved into his hair. This was not asked for. Once hair is shaved off, its gone! Its clear that this place needs to test out their barbers before turning them loose on unsuspecting customers. I will not be returning here. If you go, be very cautious. read more

Was disappointed. Been waiting for this place to open. Went as a walk in and an apprentice getting help from another barber cut my hair. Was charged salon shop price. Had to go and get my hair recut somewhere else that evening. Friendly atmosphere, but really expensive for a barber school haircut. Two haircuts in one day? Yikes! read more
