Let me start by saying I've tried all the best cheesesteaks in Philly. Little did i know that the best cheesesteak was in Wildwood all this time! We went to see the Air Show last week and stumbled upon Johnny Longhots and we were blown away! This was the best cheesesteak I've ever tasted in my life! It had all the components for the perfect sandwich. The seed roll was excellent, the steak was juicy and not dried out..real steak not steak um's and they were seasoned perfectly! The long hot pepper added just enough spice. This sandwich was enough to share! I was stuffed just eating half. The staff are friendly as well. Loved all the pictures of celebrities that adorn the walls. It was so good that I would drive all the way from my home in Seaside Heights the ne t time I get a Cheesesteak craving. Brava! Put this place on your to-do list. Tucked away a few blocks off the boardwalk, this place was easy to find. From the fairly big storefront, to the Philly inspired decorations, you can't help but appreciate the work put into this establishment. Walked in and was pleasantly surprised by the good amount of seating and the super friendly staff welcoming us! The food was amazing. If you don't like sandwiches, this place is not for you. If you know what a sandwich is, you have to come here! Ordered the Johnny Longhot Steak, The Italian Stallion and the Eggplant Caprese sandwiches. This review is for the Wildwood NJ location! Johnny Longshots? You must mean Johnny Greaseball! Too much grease! If you have quality ribeye steak, there is no need to oil it when cooking. In certain instances of time and volume, you may have heat cranked or just don't know or care about your customers cholesterol levels. Couple sprays from a water bottle would be just fine, but not this place. the tray liners were absolutely soaked. My friend only ate less than half and threw rest in garbage. In the one pic you can see the onion floating in a glob of grease. Plus that they had hot cherry peppers. Plus that they had extra sharp provolone. Plus it was free fries if you order a steak. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. I like neon lights and had neon throughout building. Environment was decent.... just one thing, I am a larger guy and this place has less than the federally required space between tables. ADA, "Forgetaboutit". Not a wheelchair friendly setup. Tall counters narrow traffic paths. I wanted to get another iced tea out of the cooler and would of had to have 2 people get up to get to it, so just asked the guy who was sitting in front of cooler. Ordering was very through.... you pay for all those extras. Steak $15.25, sharp provolone $2.00, hot cherry peppers $.65. Friend ordered extra sharp provolone an additional $2.00. I asked for hot sauce and yup, $1.00. Snapple 16oz $2.85 Because we were going to eat there I saw a $.65 convenience fee on ordering screen, asked her what that was and she took it off. Charge you for eating there?!? I informed counter girl of the greasiness and she told one of the cooks and got NO response. I noticed on yelp the reviews weren't good, bad reviews, try better rated joint... or as they call it on their wall "juan" Before I ordered I informed them this meal was for a review. read more

As I get older, I have a harder time giving a poor rating to a restaurant, because I know people are trying. But as someone who relies on Yelp to always get it right, I'm rattled when Yelp does me wrong. And this place is wildly overrated. Friendly service, good atmosphere, huge portions. The problems? Takes forever, aggressively priced, and most, most important: it's not worth the wait. Greasy, beef has no discernible taste. Lame product. Wildly disappointing. And I really don't believe I'm just being a Philly snob, because back in the day Wildwood had Mr. D's, one of the greatest cheesesteak places in the world. I'm so disappointed. Threw 80% out. Delicious! These sandwiches are huge and enough to take home the other half or split with someone. Came out fresh from being cooked, nice and hot. The seasoning was spot on making these sandwiches delicious. The pork was nice and juicy with a delicious flavor. You can dine in or take out. Had a slice of pizza. It was fair. It was sitting in the front case of the different pizza slices display. They charge $1 extra for toppings. I got a sausage and long hots slice. Johnny Longhots is a nice little place right on Pacific. Multiple tvs, one is always playing Rocky movies (unless Philly teams are on!) and tons of old school board games to keep you busy while you wait for your food. Definitely one of the best cheesesteaks on the island, if not the best. The sandwiches are all very big. So if you don't have a large appetite, be prepared to share or take it home. Tater tots and fries are good. They do charge a fee for using cards, keep in mind if you are trying to avoid that. read more

First, I want to say the staff here is awesome. Everyone was polite and appreciative for your business. They make a solid cheesesteak. I had their signature cheesesteak on that Liscio's seeded roll. The ribeye had good flavor and it was not oberly salty. Portions were good, unlike so many others, and the price was somewhat reasonable. The only thing I noticed is the City of Wildwood has now implemented an additional fee for food establishment in the city. Not surprising since Wildwood is a money grab kinda town. They'll take all they can from you whenever they can. Anyhow, if you're looking for a good cheesesteak place, I think it's definitely worth checking out. Abysmal customer service on a walk in order. I was mid-order when the guy looked away and started a conversation with someone who just wandered up to the counter. Didn't tell them to wait or they'd be next, nope just fully looked away as if I wasn't even there. Didn't even apologize for the interruption either. Once they take your money, good luck with the rest. Food is fine but the customer service and attention to detail is so awful, I'd rather give my hard earned money to one of the zillion other cheesesteak places competing for business on the island. AMAZING feels like I'm in downtown Philly. From the minute we walked in the door and were greeted by the thick Philly accent with the wall deco of all Philly and the smells of cheesesteaks i knew it was gonna be good. The walls have Philly alum photos , the music is nice and they have board games you can play at your table while you wait. We got 3 cheesesteaks and my wife and son could barely make it through a half as they stuff the in that awesome Philly roll. Went in for the 1st time and ordered a steak & cheese (extra grilled onions) on a seeded roll with a bottle gingerale. about 18 dollars. Totally worth it! The bread was toasted evenly so the sandwich didn't crumble in your hands when u spilt it. Perfect ratio of provolone cheese to meat. Which they use 12oz of real steak. This place became a favorite after only two visits. The quality of every ingredient they use is top notch and the sandwiches are absolutely priced to own. On top of that, the vibes of the place are fun, welcoming and very much fit in the Wildwood aesthetic. Both times I've been in, the service has been great. Friendly staff, and the open window into the kitchen lets anyone who comes in see the maestro at work making incredible food. Our first time there we had heard good things about the one in Philly. Well, let's just say they didn't disappoint. Their cheesesteaks on a seated roll were amazing tons of meat excellent meat, the cheese ratio, and the bun was perfect. We also had a chicken cheesesteak with the addition of mushrooms and we ordered it with white cheddar cheese. Again tons of meat, awesome cheese to meat ratio, and again the bun was perfect. We ordered a side of tater tots with white cheddar cheese sauce again delicious. It's not often that I review a sandwich shop, but this one was so good and so beyond our expectations, I had to review them.
