He needed help, but with a rapid fire order and knowing what we wanted right away. We got ahead of the line by being swift and decisive. The place is need of more workers because in spite of it being a full day the 80's pool concert day there were 2 waitresses running around that looked exhausted and overworked! Absolutely NOT their fault that the service was slow but the management's fault. More workers are needed! Better preparation is needed on crowded weekends!The food took forever and when it came out my quesadilla was unappealing, the cheese on top looked like it was burnt combined with a dark green nasty looking sauce and tasted bad. Not many places to eat inside L'Auberge and this was a must try for us. My husband is a fan of Aaron Sanchez. Unfortunately, it's a Tuesday so we were only able to have bar food. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. Looked like she was taking care of all the tables. Bartender must have been having a bad night. The food was bar food and not great bar food. The chips and salsa was good. The queso was thick but tasty. The chicken wings were unseasoned, deep fried and drenched in adobo sauce. The steak on the nachos was overdone. 9/11/2025: After my recent 4 night 5 day stay in the L'Auberge casino, I made an observation. No casino restaurants, unless high end, are that great. They know you will have to eat and probably don't want to leave the property, so there's no real incentive for them to be on their A game. Johnny Sanchez is no exception. We ate there twice during our stay. Why? Because it was convenient. Although the waitresses both times were nice, the service was snail slow. The tea tasted off because I think their water is not filtered. The food is bland. The options are good for breakfast, lunch, and sharables, but the food itself was subpar. I wouldn't have complained a bit if the speed of the service was at least quick. Not a fan of waiting in a super freezing cold restaurant. read more

Convenient restaurant and bar located on the lobby of the L'Auberge Hotel and Casino. Great selection of drinks and varied menu. I ordered one night the fried catfish, fried shrimp, fries and coleslaw platter which doesn't show the price anywhere but on my check at the end was $25. Well they didn't bring me the coleslaw but the server didn't notice it either and by the time I was trying to see if she'd come my way again. I already had eaten most of my food. Overall good food and portions, however will servers are friendly, service is slow at the bar area at least. read more

We have been to Johnny Sanchez to celebrate our daughter in law's birthday twice. We went in 2025 on a Sunday and restaurant was closed and only the bar was open. We had 2 small children so we couldn't eat at the bar. We just went there tonight Tuesday and again restaurant was closed. We called yesterday and today to see if they would take a reservation but no one would answer the phone. It would have been nice to know the restaurant wouldn't be open. So we went to the Golden Nugget next door to eat. We will never go back to this restaurant and will be telling our friends about this restaurant. Don't put on your website it is open till 9 to 9:30 pm then it's only the bar is open. Terrible service. read more

The service and food tonight were AWFUL!!! My mother n law's plain Jane tacos were horrible. The cheese was hard from sitting under the heat light, the bean and rice were inedible. My husband ordered fried chicken tacos. They brought him enchiladas. He sent it back and then they brought him shrimp tacos. WTH. Oh and not to mention it took 40 min to get our food and then another 30 for them to make my husband ordered fried chicken correct only for it to be wrong again. Luckily I didn't order anything. While we were waiting on his order we saw 2 other tables send their food back. Will never go Back which is too bad bc we like him. And what's worse is that they were not busy at all!! I stopped in here for dinner with a friend on Saturday night. Luckily, there were a few tables available so we were seated right away. We ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts for an Appetizer, he ordered the Tio's Chili Enchiladas plato, and I ordered the Carnitas Style Pork Shank with Street Corn Polenta for my Main. The Brussels Sprouts were pretty good, especially with the jalapeño vinaigrette which gave just the perfect amount of acidity and sweetness and wasn't spicy at all. He said the Enchiladas were the best tasting he had ever had, but they were super rich and even though 4 were served on the plate, they were smaller than average. The Pork Shank was so huge that I felt like I was served a personal size pork roast. The Polenta was tasty and creamy and I ate every bite, but I definitely had to get a to go box for the Shank. The Pork Shank was okay, but I felt like the char on the exterior was a tad on the over done side. I would definitely eat here again and try more things on the menu which I found interesting and not just filled with the standard Tex Mex fare. read more

I've been wanting to try this spot for a while now and finally got to check it out for lunch on a Friday while passing through town. Restaurant was freezing cold and service was very slow. No frozen margs so opted for on the rocks. It was okay but tiny for the price! We got the dip trio and the chips and queso were good, the salsa mostly tasted like stewed tomatoes, not terrible but nothing I want to continue eating. I don't eat guacamole but others at the table said it was good. I ordered the chicken nachos. They were okay, but cold and needed salt. Two people in our party ordered the burger and said it was pretty good. The last person ordered the steak tacos and said it was just okay. She ate one taco, which completely fell apart so she had to use a fork, she left the rice, beans and taco. Overall, I was disappointed, especially for the price! This isn't your typical restaurant inside of a casino. They go the extra mile to make it more authentic and add some flair to it. The queso with chorizo was a must have. The service is good and attentive, but it depends on who you received as waitstaff. The appetizers were the best part, with the Queso Fundido & Chicken Flautas being the group favorites. If you only get one side, get the Street Corn, you won't be disappointed. Best plates were Huevos Rancheros, the Burrito, & Chicken Fajitas. Plates we wouldn't get again is the Steak Fajitas, due to inconsistent cook on 3 orders and one order having some excess fat portions (more than normal for sliced steak). The service was great! However, the food was not that impressive. I was expecting it to blow me away assuming that Aaron Sanchez, celebrity chef is part owner. The one thing that I did enjoy was the queso. The fajitas which were supposed to be medium well were much too pink. The tortillas which were purported to be fresh were crunchy on the edges. We also ordered the special which was the Mexican pizza. We added chicken to it. It was just ok. The beans and rice that came with the fajitas were not very good. As a Texan, I LOVE Mexican food, and this just did not work for me. I will go off properly next time I want Mexican food. read more

Cauliflower tacos is a must try, I will say the rice had some dry texture(old) and the beans seemed over heated, safe to say I only tried but didn't eat too much off. You have to try and pappas bravas, my second favorite. I expected them to be spicy but it was kind of sweet, but crispy, fresh and savory. Husband got the enchiladas pollo verde and it was savory but way too much cheese. Hint, enchiladas are made with flour tortillas and not corn. We arrived here for dinner around 5ish and sat in the bar area to have a drink for what was supposed to be a 20 minute wait. The service was great at the bar area. The strawberry Margaritas were awesome, fresh flavored and inviting. Our bar waitress was great. The ambience is casual. We sat at the bar enjoying our drinks for what was supposed to be a 20 minute wait that ended up being an hour and soon moved to the restaurant area at 6 pm. We ordered quickly because we were attending a concert at 8 pm. Our waitress quickly took our order a little after 6, brought out the drinks and cheese dip but forgot about us until someone in our party asked about our food and she said she would check on it 3 times. A little after 7 pm still no food. We asked for the manager who was very professional and said he would work with us. I just happened to have my time stamped receipt from the bar which I showed Josh because I know he probably didn't believe us. He said our order had been put in 45 minutes prior and our waitress probably forgot to place the food order. I give him credit for his attitude and understanding of our situation. Needless to say we didn't enjoy our dinner at all because we had to leave for the concert and Josh, the manager said we could pack and pick up our food after the concert. Everything here was messed up because the bill was over $110 dollars not including drinks and Josh did comp half our food bill but we didn't get to enjoy any of it. The avocado turned black and everything was soggy by the time the concert ended. We should have just ate at the bar since we had to trash our food and the whole tab should have been comp'd because it was not worth eating. Maybe this was just a big mistake but our waitress never apologized nor cared about any of this. Sometimes it's worth just looking for something local. Unhappy camper because I paid for something I couldn't eat and had nowhere to heat it up. Bad service all around. 2 stars for the bar area. read more

I was sitting at the bar which was attended by one bartender who actually had to grow, harvest, roast and brew his own coffee in addition to milking the cows for cream. He wasn't rude, but he didn't really want to be there either. The food: egggggcellent! Spicy, thick chorizo patty was on thin slices of avocado and a half English muffin and topped with a perfect egg and hollandaise. The potato side was nicely browned and crisp.
