Note: there is no cell service here. It's truly a place to disconnect. There is WiFi, but it is "county speed". It's a fun addition to truly help you disconnect.

The views throughout the property are incredible. You really feel far removed from Austin, even though downtown is only about a 15-20 minute drive away. It's also a golfer's paradise, with state-of-the-art courses and a history of hosting legends like Willie Nelson. I could go on and on about the resort itself but let's talk about the dining options! Tiki Social is their summer pop-up bar at Nápoles, serving up some excellent tiki drinks with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area overlooks the pool so it can be a little loud if you're hoping for a more relaxed island vibe. We opted for the Zombie and Mai Tai, both classic tiki cocktails. We didn't dine here, but they had plenty of food options from smaller plates like coconut shrimp and wings to larger dishes like the mahi mahi sandwich and Tiki Burger. Instead, we headed to the main restaurant on-site Blind Salamander, to take advantage of their happy hour. They had a couple of red and white wines discounted along with $2 East Coast oysters, which we paired with a side of fries. If you're looking for a full meal, the menu has a robust selection with plenty of options to please just about everyone. One of the best things about this resort is the free parking, which makes it much more accessible and allows you to enjoy a high-end resort experience without having to pay extra fees, especially if you're not staying overnight. The space was very tight for the number of guests present. Folks passing by my table kept knocking purse off my chair until I put on our table. There was a small bar and mingling area. Gifts sat on the floor as there was no space anywhere else to put them. There were two musical artists - a DJ and a jazz band. The DJ was not skilled in the art of DJing. He did not have seamless connections between songs with abrupt stops. The jazz band, conversely, was amazing. My hubby who is not a big dancer, danced the entire night. We were served plated meals (filet mignon and salmon), which were aesthetically pleasing and deliciously prepared. Overall, the food was very good. If the birthday party was held in a larger space, the experience would likely have been better.

And drove back to the cabins instead of staying the next night in Austin. This place is heavenly. To begin with, it is a gorgeous setting ~ quiet, calming, lovely views from the porch. Next, the interior is BEAUTIFULLY decorated and appointed ~ nothing left to chance from the dishes to the wifi & TV. These cabins are elegant, more high end than some expensive hotels. And, yet, they are rustic ~ fantastic reconditioned barn wood ceilings, gorgeous stone bathrooms (with shower large enough for two;), giant full cabin length deck. I felt very pampered by the comfy king bed (super delicious sheets!) and the outdoor jacuzzi (easy to use). Another plus is that the owners are great. Easy to deal with and so willing to help. We LOVED our stay and are looking forward to staying again. If you get the chance, stay at Stony Ridge. You will be enchanted too!!!

I loved the covered porch with surround sound and the hottub. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were super soft. I also loved the shades that you simply pull down to cover all the windows at night. It really was peaceful and just the getaway we needed from the city. However, for the price I expected much more because I have never paid this much for a cabin that didn't include everything we needed for our stay. It also could have been a little cleaner for my liking when we arrived. First, they only provided 3 dinner plates, 4 small plates and 4 bowls along with 4 forks, 4 knives and 4 spoons. This would be OK if there were two of us and we were only staying one night, but they knew there were 3 of us and we were staying 5 nights. If you allow that many people for that amount of time, then you should provide enough of everything they will need during their stay. I mean who doesn't at least have an 8 piece setting? Also, while there are pots and pans, they are the cheap metal kind that everything sticks to, so basically useless. And don't count on using the oven because they only provide 1 glass 9x14 pan, so bring your own pans if you want more than a casserole or microwave dinners. There is the grill but its small. Also, the seating in the living room is not very comfortable and really only accommodates two. There is the patio, but again there is only setting for two. And it does get chilly on the patio in the evenings and unfortunately only 1 throw blanket was provided. We had to drive 40 minutes away to the nearest Walmart to get all these basic items that weren't included and that was frustrating. I would have simply brought my own items if I had known. If you are looking to only stay one or two nights with your significant other and you don't plan on making your own meals, then this place is great, but for a family who likes to cook who prefers comfort over looks, then I would look elsewhere. For that reason, I am only giving 4 stars.

Our cabin had a nice sitting area with Direct TV and a small kitchenette w/ a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker and a beautiful patio to enjoy a warm cup of coffee on. I left with a bottle of Paws Pup Wash an all natural Flea, Tick and Mosquito repellent wash with 100% of the profits going straight to PAWS shelter and the Humane Society! This is my kind of place!! They also have a BEAUTIFUL POOL and offer Cooking and Yoga classes that I would LURVE to return for! If your vehicle happens to break down in Dripping Springs on a Saturday night - I highly recommend this place to wait out your needed vehicle parts!

Two months ago I was given the task of finding an offsite location for my companies upcoming…read moreoffsite and thought Ruby Ranch would be a wonderful fit for our needs. How wrong I was! Upon arriving, I started to notice that the upkeep of the property was very poor. This is just a small list of issues we encountered: AC units were not working, the kitchen refrigerator was not cooling which cost us over $100 in spoiled items, the kitchen sink had no water coming out, our staff had no hot water in the mornings for showers and one of our teammates got stung by a scorpion while using the towel from her bedroom restroom. With all of these problems arising, I decided it was time to call the owner/property manager Madelyn. As I spoke to her mentioning what we were experiencing, her only reaction was that no AC unit works in Texas when it's 100 degrees, which I know is not valid. She then proceeded to ask me what time we wanted to leave the next morning. This completely caught me off guard as I thought that being the owner you would try and resolve issues your paying guests are encountering. This was far from the response I was looking for! After planning this offsite and having several team members as well as speakers staying at the location, we could not just leave to find another space. We all had to deal with the situations at hand and try and get through the next 3 days the best as we could. Following check out, I decided to email Madelyn regarding all of the problems and inconveniences we all had to handle. Still no professionalism fro her regarding her venue to paying customers who keep her in business. I would think being a family owned business, you would treat your customers with respect and reply on the word of mouth business. We as a company, nor I personally will ever use Ruby Ranch again or refer it to anyone who is searching for a venue. Hopefully this helps someone else from going through the same experience!
