They were dishonest with me. Ripped me off and did not do all the work they claimed they did. Don't go here to get your car fixed. A long time ago they were pretty good. But that was years ago when Johnny was still working there. They charged me for an oil change that they obviously did not do. They even charged me $6.95 for windshield wiper top off. I checked and they fluid was an inch from empty. Lies lies lies. They also charged 2-1/2 times for parts. I understand a 30 percent markup but 250 percent is just too far. read more

I've been coming here for about three years and have always received good service. The reason I give them five stars is that they will tell you what needs to be fixed on your car and what can wait. I took my car to the dealership to get some simple work done on it, and they gave me a laundry list of repairs they said we needed. At Johnny's, they broke down the list into what needed to be done immediately and what could wait. Trusting a mechanic is important, especially when things are getting more expensive. The owner of this business was Very rude and dismissive to my wife. My wife took our vehicle to be looked at, and the OWNER was very rude to my wife. He kept interrupting her, talking over her, and when my wife finally decided to take our vehicle elsewhere, the owner told my wife "GOOD". This type of behavior is unacceptable for a business and a business owner to treat any customer. And I wouldn't dare say that his behavior was racist but, if I didn't know any better, I can't think of any reason why the owner would talk and treat my wife, and a customer like such if he wasn't. read more

I went in for a MD state inspection on a newly acquired vehicle. The first day I came in- by appointment- the inspector was out and I had to return. Went back the next day, the inspection was done. The only thing my car needed was new wheel bearings. What these people gauged me for was that and suspension bushings! A caveat, my uncle is a mechanic and he informed me that whether I had 50K or 200K miles on the car the bushings would have shown dimples or signs of wear but that it wouldn't interfere with vehicle performance. Thankfully, I had my uncle do the service work on the car. Took the car back for inspection, the inspector was out again! Brought it back the next day and waited for the inspection. The counter person acted as if I committed a cardinal sin by waiting! My car passed. Then they hit me with a inspection fee of $32!! Apparently this is a fee they were willing to waive off my car was serviced y then, as it wasn't... I will never go back to this establishment and can only say "buyer beware." read more

After getting an estimate from Johnny's I decided to get a second opinion because each time I take my car the price was always high and I'm glad I did because The price was hundreds of dollars cheaper they treat you will the red carpet friendly treatment while ripping you off at the same time they got me a couple of times never again read more

I have a Carmax care warranty but due to the pandemic they wouldn't see me but referred me here to Johnnys on Wednesday I made an online appt for Friday however after making my online appt I called to confirm and I honestly don't know who I spoke to but his customer service was awesome he even told me I could come Thursday the very next day. Thursday morning I dropped my car off upon arrival I was promptly greeted and taken care of the people in this shop were very welcoming and provided impeccable service I'd definitely recommend this shop and would even return myself. read more

The only thing this place has going for itself is that they will only fix what you tell them to fix. Otherwise they are super expensive (charged me $500 to fix the brakes on a 93' Honda Civic) and when I told them I was having trouble with my brakes they replaced something that didn't fix the problem at all. Someone who does not know a lot about cars, I need a place that is honest about what is broken and what REALLY needs to be fixed. This place will find anything that looks old and present it to you in a way that makes it seems like you HAVE to fix it. And yet your car leaves with the same problem it had before you gave it to them! Honest mechanics are hard to come by. I'm sure there are better ones out there than this shop. read more

Johnny and his guys were exceptionally hospitable and attentive. Our car broke down while traveling for Thanksgiving due to a dealer error (not reconnecting a grounding cable after service), which made us believe that we required a new alternator. Our car was dropped off at Johnny's shop by a tow truck at 1am after first taking us to a hotel for the night with our dog. The next morning, Johnny made the arrangements for a new alternator and then came for us in his vehicle. Prior to picking us up though, we'd advised him that we had a dog and hoped it wouldn't have been an issue. He laughed and said he loves dogs and didn't mind in the least bit that we brought her. Once at his shop, Johnny pointed out to me that the car had also been leaking a bit of oil (it had been returned to us the day before by our dealer after a service that included an oil change) and took me into the garage to see. While there, he'd noticed that our dealer's service department hadn't reconnected a grounding cable properly and that could quite easily have been the cause of our car shutting down. To make an already-long story shorter, they reconnected the grounding cable, put back in the original alternator, charged the battery, and our 2014 Ford Focus fired up as good as new. From that little discovery Johnny and his guys made, they were able to save us more than $400 in parts and labor, as well as shave about 3 hours off our wait time since the alternator at the Ford dealer wasn't readily available. Had he and his guys not been as attentive and observant as they were, we wouldn't have picked up on the error by our dealer's service department, they would've installed the new alternator, and in an hour or two into our recommenced journey, our car would've broken down yet again and we would've been forced to spend more money on the issue and perhaps been forced to cancel our Thanksgiving plans with family. Johnny told us when he first collected us at the hotel that his mantra is simple: I treat others the way I would like to be treated myself; with care and respect. He proved that in our entire experience with him and his guys. We all talked, we laughed, they played with our dog, they gave us coffee, they kept us comfortable, and THEY ARE AWESOME MECHANICS!! They wouldn't inspect my vehicle due to a laundry list of things supposedly wrong with it. I looked over it, and none of the things they said were broken were actually broken. I took it to another inspection station and I was in an out in 45 minutes; everything passed. I don't know whether they were too lazy to inspect it, or too incompetent, but I won't trust a mechanic that can't figure out how to turn on fog lights. read more
