We did an addition recently and our painter and others highly recommend Benjamin Moore paint. This…read morestore is easy to find in SoPo and has easy off street parking. Inside it has more than average amount of paint swatches and collections of paint to help narrow down your colors. I went in a few different times and the guy working there was nice. They of course have tons of paint related items and I found it super helpful to buy the kits with foam boards and mini rollers so I could apply my sample paint to several large squares that could be affixed temporarily to my wall at home rather than paint all over my new drywall as we decided our colors. I have only two complaints- 1) the only sample size here is ridiculous- it's way to large, unless I plan on painting an entire wall to decide, I'm wasting paint and they are quite expensive compared to other smaller sized samples from other stores (and believe me, the cost adds up quick if you get multiple samples!) 2) we chose our color based on the formula on the sample, which when our painter got our paint, it ended up needing to be repainted due to the color being wrong compared to the sample. This was fixed later and figured out by our painter with Maine Paint and we were lucky enough that the second coat covered the wrong color well. The right color is beautiful. All in all I'd recommend the paint and give this location another go, but they appear to need to work on their mixing consistency. The color should be the same no matter which Maine Paint you go to and what sample you get!

We have always found the employees considerate, knowledgeable and very helpful. Our plan for this project, was to paint the walls and ceiling of our bedroon. My wife was going to prep the room during the day and I was going to come home Friday evening and paint the ceiling. Then, on Saturday morning, our plan was to knock out the walls. Well, the best laid out plans don't always go the way you want, now do they! We underestimated the amount of paint we needed for the ceiling and checked to see if SW was open late on a Friday evening and they were. I whipped over and picked up another gallon of ceiling paint, which they had in stock. They completely saved the day! I also picked up another gallon of the wall paint. Oh, yeah one more thing, always check the Internet for sales. We did this time and got 30% off!

When we enter the store, there always seems to be clustered chaos by the customer service desk, not sure why, but sometimes it's kind of in the way of guests trying to pass by. We have always had to try to find things on our own, but it would be nice if there was a staff member available to help for finding obscure things. We typically got to the Paint desk and that person has to radio for help. We wish the online product information for the local store stock was more accurate, but I know that may be hard to track in real time. We always use self-check out and the staff there is very attentive and on the spot to help and or clean the station after each use. It's a fine place to go if you're in the area.

I have spent the past few months agonizing over paint colors for every room in my new house. I…read morecannot stand a house where everything is white...and that is exactly what I bought in December. Not only are the walls "white" (maybe they were 40 years ago), but some of them aren't in the best condition. Anyways, I decided to go with SW because they are close to my house and open on Sundays. They have coupons every month, so I don't think it's that much more expensive than other brands. I don't know for sure. The customer service has been wonderful here. My husband and I popped in right after we closed on our new home and we must have had the "first time home owner glow" on our faces as we grabbed 5 million paint swatches off the wall. One of the men working was kind enough to let us "borrow" one of the paint swatch booklet thingies, which I still have two months later. I swear I am going to bring it back once all of the rooms are painted! We've been here at least 3 times in the past three months and everyone who works at this store has been helpful.

I never felt rushed or pushed for a sale. He made sure I understood each result and answered all my questions. We then went over the systems and again wasn't pushed to go more then needed. I had asked about something another company told me i needed but based on my water results he let me know I didn't need it and save the money. After a year having a new water system installed, one tank started spurting water. I called,…read moree-mailed and texted Chris, the seller, to no avail, (two weeks). After I called another number I was told that another tech from Augusta would come down. The man told me that the tank that was spurting had a crack in the head. He turned the bypass off and it stopped leaking after a while. He told me there were three tanks I did not need and to fix it, it would take another $8,000.00 and that was at a discount. I had already paid the Pure Experts almost $14,000.00, so I told him I was going to get another opinion with another accredited water system company (the Pure Experts and Aerus are not accredited by the BBB). I wouldn't recommend the company to anyone!!! Since this writing, I have found out things I cannot divulge. "The Pure Experts" on Warren Avenue, Portland,ME are scammers! Period!!!!
