Really disappointed in how this move went. I trusted them and found that the trust was definitely misplaced. They struggled in almost every part of the move. We planned way in advance, only to find out days before our move that they 'forgot' to place us on the schedule - so our move got pushed by a couple days. They promised to send their "A" team to make up for it - which has made me worried about who they would have sent otherwise. We paid for the 'insurance' to protect our belongings against damage, only to later find out that the coverage is only applicable if they were to pack. This wasn't told to us when we signed up for coverage. We've been working for a few months now to process claims, and they've come back and said that they have no obligation to cover. The insurance wasn't insurance, but coverage - and that since it's self packaged, they don't cover anything. When moving our belongings into the house, they were unable to move some furniture to the 2nd floor. Damaging the furniture throughout the move. BUYER BEWARE - I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

giving them one star for my move is too much credit. had an out of state move. they split my move and I had to wait 5 days for second shipment. they broke a number of items then claimed because I packed items they denied responsibility. after 2 months I am only getting paid for two pieces of furniture the destroyed. don't let the touch your stuff. read more

Well it has been over 5 months and they keep reassigning our case....guess they are hoping to wear us down. Even got a lawyer involved. As previously stated....this company didn't put any dividers up between my load and 2 others and my boxes had been gone through and lots of stuff missing. Also found some stuff that did NOT belong to me. The DRIVER must have pulled off and allowed his friends to go through and steal what they wanted. There was also a certain individual to came out for the quotes and had us write him a check (to himself) on the second visit for $50 which according to their office was fraudulent. This is the third time we've used Johnson Moving and Storage. It's been 20 years since the last time and prices have sure gone up, but it's to be expected. (Moved half the weight for almost twice the price!)This move was from Denver to SW Florida. I have to confess I was pretty terrified this time after reading so many truly horrible reviews about literally every moving company we received bids from. It was a great process from beginning to end. The bid ended up taking place remotely with Victoria who was extremely capable and knowledgeable and answered many questions patiently. She then handed our account off to Jae who was our go-to for logistics and scheduling. She came as a bit of a surprise since we had thought Victoria was our "person." That might be our only complaint, the lack of communication about the hand-off. The biggest kudos tho go to our driver Lloyd. He and his crew did an excellent job of loading all of our belongings in Denver, taking great care with them and with the house. He was calm and personable and professional. Really enjoyed working with him. He brought the load down in 5 days which was miraculous, after we'd been prepped to expect that delivery could take up to 2 weeks! The delivery window these days is pretty outrageous with most companies so we were thrilled to get everything so quickly! The crew in Ft Myers did a nice, speedy job of unloading, working well together and taking great care with our items. The only exception to that would be a bike that was reassembled after the wheel removal, and it was a mess, requiring a trip to the bike shop. We went through and tightened screws on bed frames and tables once they were done because they tend to whip through those tasks without a lot of attention to detail. Horrible customer service. The worst I've encountered. Three calls over five business days to Victoria G. When she finally called back, she was rude, rushed, and unhelpful. When she did finally call, she told me she needed to call someone else to check availability and would call me "back in a minute" she never called back. It's been five days now. I ended up calling rocky movers Who had someone over to give me an estimate the next day, and was happy to book the $10,000 move to Oregon. I could see why the reviews of Johnson moving and storage are so horrible. Save yourself time. Go with someone else. read more

Johnson storage & moving should call it quits! My house hold goods was confirmed delivery on 10sep18 for a 18sep18 delivery via 2 forms of communication. Phone and e mail. But somehow someway... I did not get on schedule!! So come 18sep18 the day after I close on my first home purchase... nothing is delivered. I then begin attempting to contact this company for 4 hours to zero success. They have no phone number listed except on yelp, and this number is never answered by Johnson. It goes to voicemail. That is the first indication of the full lack there of in proper ability to run a company and business. When contact was made, they wanted to REschedule me for up to almost 2 weeks later, but we were able to REschedule for 24sep. Still rediculous! How after 2 confirmations are you NOT PUT ONTO THE DROP SCHEDULE?! Then on day of delivery they were 1 hour late into their window and with only 2 employees to unload who spoke very little English. Making the working relationship very difficult. They thankfully damaged none of the home, but a bookshelf and our auto cat litter box was fully broken. When we requested more employees to help unpack more as is their policy to do... they said no. I called in to demand more to help compensate my family for the arduous situation we were put through in inconvenience and they had none available. When the workers DID unpack after all items were in the house they simply emptied boxes... placing anything everywhere around the room. Unpacking the kitchen to them meant emptying boxes (to benefit them) and placing the contents EVERYWHERE ON THE COUNTER. Literally on top of eachother. They then claimed "done" when they ran out of counter space with 5 boxes remaining. WHAT?! You just took one condensed problem and put it EVERYWHERE! They continued this process for the bathroom and living room. If you are forced to go with this moving company, be on top of it and call call call to confirm their delivery date and time. Checking & double checking not with the first person on the phone but a supervisor. Also, make sure your expectations are met without question! If they don't have enough people, make them get more. Because at 3pm, they they think they are done no matter what. Pathetic company. read more

Highly recommend using a different moving company. Below is my email to Johnson's Management after they tried to charge us for fixing our bed which they couldn't put back together. Also, we have a custom table, that has sentimental value, they ruined which we're waiting to hear back on how they plan on resolving. "This is a huge a mistake on Johnson's part and I am completely upset over how your company has treated us. We will not be paying any additional charges as outlined below. First - The third-party charge indicated in the attached invoice is for a company who our sale representative Scott (copied here) hired to fix our Sleep Number because the movers who returned our belongings were unable to put the bed back together. I was advised by Scott that this would not be our responsibility to cover as this was Johnson's fault and not ours. To add, Scott told us he would be following up the next day, but never called us and still hasn't called us weeks later. Second - We told the initial movers who came not to take apart our dinning room table as it's custom table and it would extremely difficult to put back together. Of course, the movers did take apart our table against what we said. When the table was returned, of course, the second movers were unable to put the table back together and at that time we were advised by them AND Scott there would be ANOTHER third-party company coming out to fix our table. With that said, still to this day, Scott has not called us nor has anyone come out to fix our table weeks later. Third - I've had to take a day off of work to be home because of Johnson's unbelievably terrible handling of our move. On the initial move, we paid to have our oven and refrigerator moved since we had a pipe leak which destroyed our floor. The initial movers did not move our fridge or oven because they said they couldn't get them out the front door, no one was here and the front door hinges were stripped. This is complete and utter lie as I was home, saw the movers and they saw me and I was able to take the door off without issue both times when the appliances left and came back. We have moved many times and this was the most disastrous experience we have ever had! We were lied to by their sales person. Do not let them tell you that your items will stay in crates! They unloaded and reloaded our belongings, causing extensive damage! During the move we had seven pieces of furniture broken, dented, and scratched. Two pieces were not repairable. We paid full value for insurance for damage or loss. We are missing boxes, our ladder, mops and brooms. We received a small compensation and our claim for missing items was denied! We do not recommend using this company, which is under the United Van Lines umbrella. read more

Johnson Moving and Storage (United Van Lines) Denver CO 1. The loaders were asked to wear masts during this pandemic. They refused and did not wear them. 2. The unloaders did not wear masks inside all the time. 3. The packers put shoes, unprotected in a large box, thus scratching the leathers on several pairs. 4. The packers used unprotected furniture pillows to protects vacuum parts. 5. The packers mixed two adult clothing that were separated. 6. The packers did not wrap and protect similar items. They put them in boxes to protect other items. 7. The packers mixed items like linens that were all together and used them in other boxes then marked these boxes with names other than lines so when unloaded, these types of items were not in the desired house room. 8. There were not enough wardrobe boxes ordered. Shirts and coats on hangers were packed laying down in large boxes and came out all wrinkled. 9. The packers or loaders scratched a living room end table before it was even wrapped and protected by the loaders. 10. Empty boxes were packed when they were instructed to ignore these. 11. Many boxes were mislabeled for the room because the packers mixed items from different rooms. 12. 32" tv was not wrapped in box. The face and sides were scratched. Now it is not usable. 13. Items were moved when they were marked to leave there. I had to ship them back to the new owner at my expense. 14. The claims people said they were paying x amount for a damaged item then 3 days later they said they were paying less. I was not compensated for damages at replacement costs even though that is what my contract said. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOVING COMPANY read more

They moved us out of state and damaged our elliptical, treadmill and cracked the marble top of one of our nightstands. They dragged the claims process out for three months and then finally just gave us a check for the exercise parts but only one of the nightstands since you have to have special coverage for sets of items. We are now left with a cracked nightstand which is not longer made and not enough money to fix or replace the set so they match. Terrible claims process and no concern for the customer at all. Go with another company who actually covers sets or pairs as standard...or better yet, one who doesn't break and ding and dent your items during the move. read more

This is the second move I have completed with Jerome's crew from Johnson Storage & Moving (formerly Nomad Logistics) in the past two years. Can't say enough positive things about Jerome, Devin, Garret, Jared, Ryan and Sam!! They are not only careful, efficient and incredibly hard working, but their positive attitudes make the day so much better. They just moved the "treasures...aka way to many boxes" and antique furniture for my 76 year old parents. They had to disassemble some challenging items and never complained or gave up. This could not have been an easy move for the crew, but they did it without hesitation, with great care for their things and at a very fair price. I highly recommend this crew!! read more

I wanted the pods to be dropped off and picked up the same day. They said they couldn't pick them up until 4 days later, which was going to piss off my apartment management but I said to schedule it anyway and try to get here sooner. They said if anything became available sooner they would call. They never called, and the day that was scheduled to have the pods moved came and went and the company didn't get them. When I called they said they didn't have it scheduled and that I would have to wait 2 more days. This made the management even more angry with me because it was blocking parking and residents were complaining that it had been so long and management has been hell to deal with ever since. This company completely ruined my relationship with management and because of this mess they won't fix anything with the apartment. read more

I worked with Johnson through closetbox, and even though my experience with closetbox was rough, Johnson was actually really good. Their guys, who moved me out of one apartment, into storage, and eventually out of storage, were friendly and efficient. We worked with two different crews, and both were fantastic. They were gentle with our stuff- nothing was broken or damaged. During both experiences, it seemed like Johnson was going out of their way to be friendly and to ensure that our move was as smooth as it could be. I would highly recommend Johnson. That said, I think their business as a whole would improve if they cut ties with closetbox entirely. read more

We've moved 4 times in the past 8 years, (including one move across the country), and this was by far the easiest company to work with that we've ever used. Moving into new development, our move date was slightly unpredictable. Victoria, (the sales coordinator who came to our home and gave us the estimate), and Belinda, (the move coordinator), were both very helpful, understanding and extremely flexible. When our move-in date suddenly changed to the next day, Belinda was accommodating and acted quickly to make sure we could move-in as soon as possible so to avoid having to send our items into storage. We did our own packing, but the crew who loaded our home onto the truck was so wonderful that we requested them specifically to unload the truck at our new home. Geo, Jose ("Little Jose'), Jose, ("Big Jose"), and Chris were prompt, (really prompt), quick, helpful, and fun and easy to work with. We moved from a 6000 foot square house and they had the entire house loaded and on the truck in 5 hours!! When we moved into our new home, everything was unloaded within 3 hours! Also, I should note, this is the first time I have ever moved where NOTHING was damaged in the move process. This crew went above and beyond their job requirements, and were genuinely sweet guys to spend a couple stressful and hectic days with. We've used local companies before, none of which I would recommend. Hopefully, we're staying put for a while, but if we move again, we will DEFINITELY use Johnson. read more

We had a great experience with Johnson. From the visit by Victoria - giving us options for various scenarios of our move, to scheduling the packers (Ann, Ashley and Sheri were great), Colorado Finest Relocation (Jarrell, Adam and Fred) loading the truck in Colorado, our driver (Ron), - to the guys that unloaded the truck here in California (sorry I've lost their names).....things went great. One item damaged, but that was repaired right away. We've moved a lot through the years with professional movers, but this was the first one we've had to completely coordinate ourselves. Our local move was handled fantastically from start to finish!! Victoria got us our estimate and then handed us off to Belinda who completed the scheduling. The morning of the move our crew called ahead to confirm we were home and showed up promptly. Belinda and Victoria called during the move to verify that everything was going smoothly. We felt bad for our crew because our furniture is bulky and heavy; but Brandon and Johnathan handled it without any complaints. I was very impressed with how professionally they conducted themselves. Unfortunately after 5 months we are still waiting on Johnson Storage & Moving Co and United to resolve our claim for damages incurred in our move from Paducah, KY to Aurora, Co. The entire experience was very poor. We have moved tens of times inter-state and inter-continental. This is by far the poorest experience we have ever had. They lied to us from the moment they arrived at our home in Kentucky and our experience went downhill from there. A painting and lots of furniture was damaged totaling thousands of dollars. In November 2014 you sent out an assessor to check out the damage. You acknowledged the damage by sending out technicians to take care of our washing machine, tumble drier and elliptical machine. But the rest remains untouched with no follow up despite our numerous emails and phone calls. We had full insurance on this move. My home remains in disarray as a result of the damaged items still awaiting repair. Janet Buczek oversaw our move and made me personally numerous promises that everything would be sorted out especially the damage noted by the driver on delivery at our home. She called me and assured me that all would be handled quickly once we put in our claim. She apologized for the way it was handled and that we were disappointed. The driver said it was the worst delivery he had ever made in 17 years and that he wouldn't be working for United anymore because he was so mad at the way it had been poorly packed. The antique furniture wasn't even wrapped so obviously it was damaged by the truck's movements. I sincerely hope that the company sees this review and cares enough to respond. Thank you. I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY NOT TO BE USED: I used this company to store and move my household belongings last December. When delivered to my residence after 2.5 months of storage I have thousands of dollars of damages. For example the cast iron on my treadmill was broken in half. My year old dresser drawers will not close correctly. The list goes on. I requested multiple times through multiple contacts to get a form to turn in damages. The run around was great and the form did not get turned in on their timeline. I showed proof of early contact to get this fixed. They have denied the claim and keep sending me bills as if my belongings was still in storage. They even removed many from my account without my permission. I would say this place has no customer service. DO NOT TRUST YOUR BELONGINGS WITH THIS COMPANY! WHY THIS IS DELAYED POSTING I HAVE BEEN OUT OF STATE FOR THE ARMY AS A NURSE WITH THE COVID FIGHT. read more

I have used Johnson for many moves. LA to NYC, NYC to London, London to LA and, most recently, I sold my home in Denver and they handle this as well. They have always been professional and handled my moves on time. This last time, the packing and loading crews were exceptional. I felt bad for them as they had to manually jump my baby grand piano up 15 stairs from the basement, but they got it done and without a complaint. The packing crew were 3 young women who were very careful with my belongings and were far stronger than I! Highly recommended. read more

This company sucks The woman who handeled my shipping didn't reply to my emails unless I cc'ed her boss. And even then, it took he few days to replay to my emails. And then one time I waited for he reply for two weeks but no one replied. When I talked to another woman in the documents division, I was told that first woman left the company, but all the emails should have been forwarded to another employee, and I said no one fucking replied to my email, I kept sending emails and reminders but no one replied. I didn't receive my bill of lading except one day before the shipping was delivered to the destination. I was so stressed this whole time. I could have been fined for late pick up all thanks to this shity service. read more

As a United Van Lines Representative, Johnson Storage & Moving was a real disappointment! We waited two days for an in home estimate, Scotty, the Representative, showed up unprepared. He had no company fliers, brochures or business cards. He spent 10 minutes maximum and said he would send the quote the next day. No word back the next day. We researched to get his number again and he ignored our calls and texts. Why anyone would do business with a company that conducts themselves so unprofessionally is beyond me. read more

I recently used Johnson's moving and storage for a fairly large local move. Due to space constraints they had to use 2 smaller trucks but pack them as efficiently as a semi. The entire move went extremely well from estimating, project management to the tireless movers. I would not only recommend them to my friends I would use them again if I needed a mover. read more

MOVE FROM CENTENNIAL, COLORADO TO BURLESON, TX I have had 6 moves cross country, and moved to Alaska from NY and back to SF. I used major carriers. I thought every trick a mover can pull to avoid paying for goods they damaged, I had already experienced. I insured my 6,000 square foot home inventory for full replacement value at extraordinary expense, video-graphed thoroughly my entire household, took lots of photos to record the condition of the furnishings and goods before my household was picked up, as well as a fairly good written inventory which was very helpful to identify missing items. The deal was replacement value, pickup and bring inventory to climate controlled facility in a cage where it would stay securely until I set a delivery date after buying a house, where it would be delivered in pristine condition to a happy customer. The damage was dramatic, new leather office chair looked like it was dragged down the street and arrived ripped and chrome all scratched up, expensive ceramic floor lamp base arrived broken in thousands of pieces, scored sofa, dirty furnishings, most of the wood furniture was damaged, parts box was missing, items missing parts to set up 2 beds, shelving had missing parts, wall unit missing screws for assembly, etc. etc. Items were scattered, packed pan in one box and lid in another, expensive candle bases in one box with a broken globe in one box and one missing. It took the full 9 months to go through every box to see what I was missing and what was damaged, while I was trying to keep my precious mother alive in an out of the hospital the entire time. It is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company. The driver that delivered my household goods showed me photos of what my inventory looked like when he picked it up from the warehouse, so I would know he didn't do the damage. Things were strewn all over, boxes tipped over. He wouldn't give me a copy. My household goods filled a huge truck entirely to the brim, so I should not have had other people's stuff mixed with mine. There was a beat up old ladder with paint stains that was not mine that was delivered with my goods which was further proof my inventory in the cage was not secure. I was supposed to deal with one person, Belinda, throughout the process, who they said left the company. It appears not to be true since I see on a 6/14/16 post by Robin G, that she is still working there. I was shuffled between different claims reps that denied claims by lying and saying items were not available to be photographed, some were lost items, and I received two checks for compensation that did not cover the full value of all my claims. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Johnson Storage Reps added a few new lies and still did not honor their contract. Now I need to take it further. This was by far the worst move I ever had, the most damage, the most dishonest handling of the claims, some losses and even the Better Business Bureau could not resolve the issue and force them honor their contract. So folks, if you must deal with these people, photograph everything and or take the time to video everything!! Open closets, drawers, etc. Very important that you have a generally great photo/video inventory to show what you have and what condition it is in prior to pickup. Correspond through emails, and when a photographer comes to examine and photograph the damaged items, ALWAYS photograph or record the photographer photographing your damaged items. Yes, this is what is necessary if you do business with this company. Invite your friends over on pickup day and delivery. They will be useful witnesses. I would not recommend this company. read more
