I don't get my nails done often because I don't find the process relaxing usually and if I spend that much time in there, I feel like I need some nail art or something I can't do at home which other places can't do intricate nail art, but this spot is perfect! I always request no massage and no filing of calluses, but they always do it anyway. My nails are usually cut the wrong way with the clippers (inverted U). I give up on them.

I've come here about 5 or 6 times before and the ladies always do a good job at any service you ask for. They work really hard and I appreciate that. They don't know that I'm frequent in Vietnamese though and that's where the problem comes in. I've overheard, from who I assume is the owner, ask the staff that they not chat in Vietnamese so much because I think it makes the customers really anxious that they are talking shit. I will say that most of the time your manicurist isn't talking shit about you; she's talking about good deals at Macy's or something. But today I had a particular lady that said some really mean things that made me super self conscious. I'm rather short so when I get a pedicure, the lady usually uses the control to scoot the spa chair closer to her but today for some reason this lady didn't. I was sitting in an uncomfortable position and my feet kept sliding off. Instead of asking me what's wrong she kept moving my legs apart and complain that I was keeping my legs closed shut because of my dress even though she gave me a towel. Not true. I was essentially balancing on my sit bones to get my short legs to reach the foot rest. I could care less if she could see up my skirt. She works at a full service nail salon and has seen it all so her seeing my underwear is not going to phase me. She kept complaining to her coworker next to her about it but I didn't want to speak up because then she'd know I knew Vietnamese and I had overheard her saying some really humiliating things about a previous customer's wax. I've never had her do my nails there before so I haven't really heard her speak but she complains a lot about the customers instead of talking directly to them. Had she just asked me to keep my legs apart, I would have told her I was sitting in a really uncomfortable position that could have easily be resolved by adjusting the chair. Instead she complained to her coworker that she kept pulling my legs apart and I kept adjusting them back. I was talking to my friend in the next chair so it wasn't like I was watching her work to realize that she needed me to adjust my feet. There was nothing I could do about my feet constantly slipping off because I couldn't reach the rest. read more

This isn't my first time at this salon. But this is the FIRST Time leaving there like this. My nails were not done the way I wanted them. The shape is different on both sides. As they swapped people mid session. I asked for REALLY squared. After applying the nail tip the lady filed them with FULL aggression leaving me with cuts on each corner of my nails & I started BLEEDING. When she applied the acrylic it was BURNING so bad. Then as she started using the nail drill she twisted my thumb so hard it felt like she was going to break my finger. The 2nd lady who ended up finishing my nails was messing up the shape I mentioned to her that it didn't look right... then proceeded to tell me that it looked fine.. if I'm paying for something I want it done the way I WANT IT. She didn't even ask me how I wanted the polish to look, didn't ask if I wanted design or nothing. She just plopped the paint on my nails. I tried to say something but she just wasn't having it. Now I'm left with a burning sensation on my fingers, swelling, tingling... cuts and overall not happy with this experience. I did get my refund... but this is just absolutely not okay. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. And for these short short nails I paid $65 when that's the amount I would pay for semi long nails.. the lady also got upset because I did not TIP. The shape is messed up, polish is missing on most of my nails in corners, as I got home one of the nails already chipped and my hair got caught in it. I am NOT obligated to tip if I'm not pleased with the service. Especially now I'm hoping I don't have to take a trip to the emergency room for an infection because of this. read more

Excellent IF you go early when not many customers AND ask to not have your service interrupted by people who come in later. Went for my 2nd time today. (It's a very convenient location for me.) Was there at 9:20, on the way back from somewhere else, so before they opened, but a staff person let me in. Before going this time, I read reviews and saw one that reminded me of my first time here: being seated and having my pedicure START right away, only to have long breaks of me sitting there while the manicurist dealt with someone else. So this morning, first customer there, I asked that my pedicure not be interrupted that way. OK, I was told. And another customer did come in a few minutes later, asking for a shellac, but apparently Tina doing my pedicure is the only one who does shellac, so that customer was told to come back in 30 minutes. Which she did. (I was relieved Tina didn't lose a customer by fulfilling my request!) Tina did a great job, noting that it had clearly been a while since my last pedicure, so it took longer than she expected. I will go back but I'll again be careful to ask that my pedicure not be interrupted. read more

I get shellac/acrylic manicures here about every three weeks, and consistently the work of these ladies is perfect! Shoutout to Kim and Nina - these two always take their time and ensure my nails are top-notch. Note: Being right across from the college, the shop gets pretty busy on the weekends and evenings. Been here a few times and really liking the atmosphere and friendly vibe. Weekends are really busy but employees still keep up with all the customers which is impressive. Free sodas/water for their customers which is very sweet. Settings and decorations of the store is very relaxing, they really know how to keep the place clean and give it a modernized look. This is my favourite place to go to get my nails done. Kim is so funny and she dose a great job on acrylics. I got coffin short nails with an aqua green color. I asked why, to which they said they only drill off the color (I had a couple of old designs on a clear polish background), and they'd never let the drill touch my nail bed. I was hesitant but agreed. I had a mani/pedi. The woman doing my toes filed off the first layer of old gel and soaked off the rest. Yes! Exactly what I wanted! Then the mani came (at the same time) and I shared with her again that I've had nail trauma and would like to soak off. She said they can't do that. I looked at my feet, seeing them in fact doing just that. She promises she won't drill my nail beds. Well, she did, of course. And she cut four of my fingers doing cuticle work. My nails are thin, in pain, and bleeding. Not sure why they could soak off my toes but not my hands considering they were the exact same kind of gel. Pretty disappointing experience considering the spot is really nice and pretty pricey. Won't be returning.
