    Kids burger and fries

We stopped here for a bite to eat after an art festival. I got a burger, which was one of the most flavorful burgers I've had for a while. It was juicy, well seasoned, and the crispy onions on top added a little extra to it. My dining companion got the steak fritte wrap . It was huge! I tried a bite and the seasonings were amazing. The kids burger is a decent size, and the kids mac & cheese is homemade. Drinks were also good. Our server was Bailey. They were busy and he was very personable and efficient. He checked in and answered questions about the menu. We sat outside and it's nice that the street is closed and it's great for people watching. Overall, great place to stop in AA.

Jolly Pumpkin was a pleasant surprise after my go to spot Jim Brady's closed in downtown AA. Staff was amazing, friendly and accommodating. Simple design, perfect spot to grab quick food, drink and watch a game. I started with a Side Caesar Salad and Crispy Potato Croquettes which were both pretty good. Finished up with Ginger Soy Glazed Salmon which was delicious and some Truffled French Fries which were good as well.

My friends and I wanted to sit outside so we were seated upstairs on the roof. To be honest, service was pretty slow. They really took their time and they forgot to get a water for one of my friends. They also ran out of 2 different beers that we wanted to order. So not off to a great start. We got: - crispy potato croquettes: these were just fancy mozzarella sticks.... It came with 5. I would pass on these. - brussel sprouts: these were good! I would reorder. - kale Caesar salad: there was too much dressing. - truffle pizza: I prefer this pizza than the other one we ordered. - fire and smoke pizza: This was fine.

Great spot! We really enjoyed this place. The portion sizes for both the food and the beer were huge, our service was amazing, and the ambiance inside was really nice! I got the steak frites, which was truly delicious! The aioli on it was excellent. I got a side of tomato soup which was good, but nothing to write home about. My husband got the carnivore pizza, which he also really enjoyed! To drink, we got a pitcher of local beer that was great! And it made 4-5 cups which was nice!

Classic Ann Arbor beer spot! If you are a fan of sours, you must try Jolly Pumpkin. I always enjoy the beer, whether in person or at home (can find their beers in retail all over). You can also purchase beer to take home from here. Food menu I would describe as slightly elevated bar food with some twists. In general I find it good, but not amazing. My favorites are probably their chicken nachos and truffle fries. Salmon burger and chicken sandwich are tasty too, and some will say their burger is a contender for best in Ann Arbor. I tried their Pozole Rojo large plate for something different this visit, and it was good but a little underwhelming. Good flavor, served kind of lukewarm/room temperature, and smaller on the meat portion in the pozole. Tasty with the chips!

Stopped by to sample their beer and food and sadly was underwhelmed. We ordered the crispy potato croquettes which were more like soggy, greasy cheese sticks and not paired well with the "charred tomato basil sauce" was more likely they tomato soup!! Not a very large beer selection for a brewery and the few I did try, were warm which on a hot day is not great. My daughter opted for a mocktail and it was so wet that she didn't drink it at all. Service was very slow and pretty much non-existent after we were served our app and drinks. They didn't even bring us water despite it being a hot day or ask if we were enjoying our order!! The prices were a little steep as well so overall not a positive experience

Cool pumpkin-colored atmosphere, delicious bacon grilled cheese, and the milk & cookies for dessert delighted us! Great experience in Ann Arbor :)

Super delicious sour ales. They make their own sours and there's so many to choose from! They also sell them in bottles and they have them in the grocery stores as well. Server was super nice and gave us suggestions on what to choose for their beer flights. They can do a max of 5 in the flight. Very clean and the mugs hanging from the ceiling are super cool. Definitely a place to visit if you enjoy sour beer like me!

Great IPAs, pizzas, and beignets. Highly recommend the brussels sprouts. Excellent service and great atmosphere. Food tasted fresh and craft style. Joe was fantastic and extremely personable. We will be back.

Jolly Pumpkin is a fun place for a group and has been around for some time in Ann Arbor. The service was pretty good, but they were out of several drinks so I resorted to a cocktail (I don't recommend the Old Fashioned, sorry). The prices are a bit steep ($18 for my sandwich) but overall, the food was very good. I got the Warm Artichoke Sandwich with a side salad. My one friend got the Truffle Pizza (she said she always gets it because it's so good, I need to try it!) and others got salads or sandwiches & were pretty satisfied.

I was in the area and needed to get a tagabrew so I decided to check this place out. I used to avoid Jolly Pumpkin locations because I didn't like sour beers. But they now have a much larger variety. Parking in Ann Arbor can be tricky. All of the streets are also torn up so getting around right now can be a bit daunting as well. I got extremely lucky with my parking and was able to easily walk here. You also don't have to pay to park after 6 which was a nice surprise. I explained to the bar tender that I was only here for one beer, and he understood this, which was nice. I didn't eat but I have eaten at other Jolly pumpkins. I'm sure it's the same. Food was always pretty good.

"Beignets". Just cinnamon sugar donuts. They don't taste like beignets.

This is solely a food review. I assumed since there were a lot of good reviews the food would be good, but I wasn't a fan. I couldn't finish one slice of the carnivore pizza. The sauce tasted strange and I didn't like the bacon on the pizza. I can't nail down the taste, but it wasn't fitting for a pizza. I also ordered the beignets which in fact we're not beignets at all. They were more likely oddly shaped donut holes with a cinnamon sugar coating. Luckily I paid with my company card and I still have leftovers from dinner the previous night or I would've gone to bed starving.

Overall, this cafe and brewery is what you would expect! Good drinks and good food. I thought the prices were reasonable and the service was decent. I will say that this place is probably not ideal for gluten free peeps like myself - especially if you want to eat! However if you're just stopping in for a drink, it'll be good.

Food was bad but the service was worth. It wouldn't go back. They don't seem very welcoming

Horrible food and horrible service. While I was there I saw the manager harassing someone standing on the sidewalk outside. Stay away.

Ask the Community - Jolly Pumpkin Café & Brewery

Is this restaurant kid friendly for dinner ( age 8 and 10)?

Yes. It does draw more of the bar going crowd later at night, but I've seen plenty of kids in there at dinner time!

Seating was simple and quick... they do check your ID at the door before you get seated. Interior hasn't changed and I don't expect it to change. I appreciate the old vibe that place gives. For meal, we ordered: - few onions rings - Fried Artichoke Hearts - 2 regular burgers and 1 order "over the top" - few beers The service is hit or miss, depends on how busy the place gets... our waitress was working six tables by herself, but she did all she could to help. The onion rings were awesome, fried artichoke hearts, you can skip... for the burgers, I would recommend you stick to classic - meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions. We all got it med, the meat was juicy as usual and we all enjoyed it. The draft beer that I ordered was flat unfortunately. When we got our check I noticed that there was a "convenience fee 3%", which is applied to your meal prices only. I'm not a fan of convenience fee, if they are trying to offset the credit card charges or adjust their prices due to the inflation or higher material costs, they should just raise their prices to offset those. I also didn't see anything about convenience fee being added, granted if it was in a smaller print so I could have missed it. It seems everyone is adding on convenience fee to everything.
