My friend and I tried: - apple cider: this was pretty apple-y, nothing special but it's the one I ended up ordering - sangria cider: a little too sweet for me - cherry cider: it didn't taste like cherry to me - mint chocolate chip malt: I was so intrigued that I had to try this. Confirming it does taste like mint chocolate chip! Food we ordered: - chicken Caesar wrap - ahi tuna poke bowl: I thought there would be more seaweed or lettuce but the base was white rice. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and asked if it was our first visit--when we said yes, she was so kind to walk us through their amazing selection of ciders, beers, and more. We were a bit undecided, so she brought us some samples--such a nice touch! The food came out quickly; we ordered a couple of pizzas and a sandwich, and everyone was super happy with their food choices. Since we were not that hungry we tried a few of their beers and split the Chicken Tinga Nacho's . Their beer list is massive offering many local beers . I tried the Arbor Classic Ale,Arbor Strawberry Blonde and Eastern Market Raspberry Paczki. My favorite was the Strawberry Blonde. 4 oz pours range from $3-5 each. The nachos were big enough to share loaded with chicken tinga,black beans, tomato,onion,cotija,queso,salsa, jalapeno and yes ,green olives! While visiting Ann Arbor we stopped for lunch at Session Room by Arbor Brewing Company. The vibe is a celebration of everything UofM and Michigan. Our server explained that the brews on tap are either Arbor Brewing made of other local Michigan favorites. She recommended the chicken tinga nachos so we split those. I enjoyed the fruity Sierra Rose Sangria which was more of a seltzer beverage than traditional sangria so not too sweet. My husband had a flight of three beers. We were trying to find a place for a family dinner for two young children and 8 adults. Luckily, the tables are large and the restaurant was spacious and could seat us all. Half the table cautiously got bibimbop bowls with salmon. While I wouldn't consider it a bibimbop, it was a delicious rice bowl. We were all shocked that a sports bar had done so well with Asian cuisine. My partner got the chicken bacon naan wrap and the brisket chilli. He said his food was really good as well. I enjoyed another excellent Za pizza at The Session Room last evening. Despite's this being a Saturday night with a home football game down the street we were seated quickly and the service was prompt and friendly. This is a big place so don't let a crowded parking lot deter you from coming in. In addition to great pizza, The Session Room also offers nearly two dozen other delicious "bar food" type of items including sandwiches, burgers, etc... The place can get a bit noisy at times but we were somehow always able to hear and understand our table mates. I am pleased to report that while the choice of beers is somewhat diminished since Arbor Brewing took over, the selection is still quite expansive and anyone will find many selections to their liking. read more

The service is always good. It's a loud place so I wouldn't go if you want an intimate dinner. The food is ok but we usually go for the pizza, we all like the pizza. We went last week before Xmas and ordered our normal 2 pizzas and when they arrived we were surprised to see a much smaller pizzas than we normally get, they only serve one size. It's not just a little smaller but a lot smaller. Usually we get 2 pizzas for 4 of us but after seeing the "new" size we would have to get three for our normal take home pieces for lunch. I am aware that AA Brewing Company took over ownership a while back and I think that has been a mistake. We have spoken with current and ex waitstaff and they all say the same thing, "prices are going up and they are cutting corners and just a week or so before our visit they started making the pizzas smaller but price is not smaller. Such a huge disappointment. I would rather pay more for the same pizza but to keep the price the same then serve a smaller pizza feels like an underhanded money grab. The pizza was good but feeling scammed made dinner not enjoyable. Not going back which makes me sad. Do better. Excellent spot to gather with friends! The Session Nachos are absolutely standout, and HUGE (for me, best shared with a group!). Pizzas are good too, with interesting seasonal options. Extensive beer menu that leans towards MI beers, and there are absolutely options for any kind of beer lover. The crust alone is thin, tasty with a crunch on the edge. Right amount and mix of toppings. We ordered the featured pizza special - sopressata margherita. Comfortable pub/restaurant vibe, pretty large with lots of tables. They also have a covered patio to accommodate their many patrons but it was too cold for me. We waited a bit longer and was lucky enough to get a booth inside, which was much better because the crowd and vibe along with the bar is all inside. Overall: really solid bibimbap, in a really spacious sports bar with friendly service. I ordered the bibimbap with miso salmon because I was craving a rice bowl with vegetables. Admittedly my expectations were low because this is a sports bar that serves mostly American foods like pizza and burgers. It was not a very authentic bibimbap, but the salmon was super flavorful and crispy, and it also comes with steamed broccoli, soy sauce mushrooms, and some pretty good kimchi. This was my second time at the session room. While i want to love the rich atmosphere and our servers have been great, i've had the same experience twice of long waits for mediocre teetering on bad food. This time I got the shrimp tacos and my family got the bbq chicken pizza. After about 45 minutes to an hour of waiting (to be fair it was peak dinner rush) i was even more disappointed. It wasn't as much a taco as it was 2 jumbo shrimp in a what tasted and felt like a grainy and old corn tortilla with cheese and a tiny bit of ranch. The pizza seemed like it would've been good when they put it up in the heat lamp 30 minutes ago and was lukewarm and dry at best. The 2 ciders, cherry and apple, just tasted like nothing but excessive carbonation that burned my throat. This place actually does a few things really well, which is why i'm not giving it a 1 star. Its atmosphere is really cool, theres a space for live music, and you can pretty easily find tables that aren't too loud. Overall it's a nice place, but you need the food to back it up. The burgers and bibimbap are pretty good and the nachos are fantastic, however it seems to me this place constantly shoot itself in the foot with some of their menu choices. It feels vast yet super limiting, nothing really stood out to me that wasn't bar food besides the bibimbap (which is actually pretty good). I recommend avoiding any of the tacos (unless they get better toppings and/or a flour tortilla) and not being afraid to (politely) ask the server if you can get a fresh pizza if you have a big party and the pizza comes out like ours did. The food here is very solid. Tasty pizzas and salads, but definitely too high price-wise for me to go here very often. We used to go after playing pickleball until we found Carlyle... and now we are regulars there (especially since we typically play Monday and Session is closed on Mondays.) The service is really hit or miss... a few times we got terrible service, a few times good, and once or twice great. The decor is nice and relaxed... nothing of note. I came here with a group of 5 on a Thursday night and the place was packed! Luckily this restaurant has so much seating we didn't have to wait for a table at all. The waitress came and took our order and was quick bring our drinks. I ordered the Cajun pasta which was super yummy! The last time I came here I ate some sort of cheese gnocchi that was AMAZING but unfortunately they didn't have it anymore. I asked for a side of naan bread and the waitress came back with pita bread from the spinach and artichoke dip, yes I notice the difference. After ringing up a bill over $200, I accidentally forgot to take my receipt home. I called the next day and Martine helped me get my receipt back, emailed to me within one day. Went here to watch a U of M basketball game with a group of three. We sat at the communal tables which were spacious. The walls are lined with TVs for easy viewing and there are several large windows to let in natural light. They piped the sound from the game through the entire place which made for a nice atmosphere for cheering. We were disappointed with our food though. We got a burger with some onion and cheddar to share. The burger itself was okay but the toppings were sparse and not flavorful and the side of chips paled in comparison to fries (they do not offer fries in the menu). We also shared a margarita pizza, which was just sad. It was a solid 80% dough and looked like someone had accidentally dropped some cheese and tomatoes on top. Not satisfying or filling at all.
