Went on a Jolly Trolly arranged trip to Longwood Gardens to see the Christmas display there. The Hastings (daughter driver and mom host) were GREAT! Efficient from check-in to drop off. Had welcome and parting gifts for all passengers and bottled water available on board, you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments along. Comfy seats and roomy enough, the temperature was controlled nicely and the group was asked numerous times if all was OK just to be sure. A bathroom stop was planned for both directions and timed perfectly. Upon approach to Longwood we Mom Hastings gave a verbal introduction to what to look for at Longwood which was very important as the place is BIG! The synopsis allowed us to be efficient in touring/eating in our 4 hour visit. Based on this trip we'll be on many other planned trips with them in the near future. The Jolly Trolly also offers livery service to airports and any other destination you may need from a single passenger to a group of about 40 if I remember correctly. THANKS FOR A GREAT TRIP!! The Jolly Trolly is one of Rehoboth/Dewey Beaches best and least known treasures. The two beaches are next to each other but are far enough from one another to prohibit walking as a viable commuting option. You could get in your car and drive and deal with that whole procedure or use the Jolly Trolly. At $3 each way (or $5 for a round trip) it's certainly not going to break the bank. The come every 30 minutes and are very prompt. The friendly driver asks you which stop along either beach you'd like to be dropped off at and it's a quick few minute drive to your destination. The trolly runs until 2am making partying at either beach a viable option. The trolly itself is merely a covered wagon of sorts with old-school wooden seats that's pulled by a van, it's not going to win any style points but there is a nice breeze and a quietness to it that makes the ride quite pleasant, just don't change your mind on your stop as you won't see the driver again during your ride. read more

Oh, the Jolly Trolley. What a magical and majestic name for a van that pulls a wagon fit for cattle behind it. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't an uncomfortable ride. You get a nice breeze and get to take in the sights. The woman who I assume is the owner (she said she'd been working there for a few decades) was super nice. When we were waiting at the wrong stop, she pointed us out to the right one (she was going the opposite direction). When we caught the trolley before hers, we heard her call our driver to make sure we got on alright. Our other driver was a super nice guy with a mustache. He answered all of our silly questions and told us the history of the Trolley. Definitely worth doing if you've got places to be! read more

The concept of the Jolly Trolley is fantastic. Some of the drivers could use a little lesson in customer service! I use the Jolly Trolley every time I want to get back and forth between downtown Rehoboth (boardwalk/Rehoboth Ave) and Dewey Beach. It's so convenient! Parking in Rehoboth simply stinks! Even if you find a spot, you're going to pay many, many quarters to stay there! One quarter gets you 10 minutes. The Jolly Trolley is super easy and costs $5 roundtrip ($3 one way for adults, $1 one way for child under 5). It has many stops between the Rudder (south dewey) and the Rehoboth Boardwalk. Trolley runs from 8am - 2am. Longest I've ever waited for a trolley was about 7 minutes. When you're taking the trolley, you don't feel rushed like you would if you were using a meter. Half of the drivers are nice, half of them are rude. I won't get into the specific incidences I've witnessed with foreigners or newbies. Most people have little interaction with the drivers. Pay them the money in their van or they may come to the entrance of the trolley if there are a lot of people getting on and needing to buy tickets. You will also need to tell them where you'd like to get off the Trolley. The Trolleys all have free wi fi. The password is on the chalkboard on the interior of the trolley. If you download the app, 'Get Out' you can see exactly where the trolleys are at any moment. Click on 'deals' and then 'ride the jolly trolley.' Lastly I want to mention that on nights when there are concerts at the boardwalk bandstand, the trolley stop moves a 1/2 block up on Rehoboth Ave...outside the bathrooms. read more

The Jolly Trolley is great!! 2 years ago in July 2018 my parents and I were on vacation in Dewey Beach and we wanted to take a few hours to explore Rehoboth Beach up the coast. Enter the Jolly Trolley, the best transportation to and from Rehoboth Beach! The trolley was clean, plenty of room, great rates, had great hours and although the pick up stops were easy to miss (outside of Rehoboth at least) it was an enjoyable time. I drove around for what felt like an hour looking for somewhere to park so that I could take the Jolly Trolley. There is no such place. I parked at my hotel and ended up walking to the closest stop. Lucky for me it was only 5 mins. Unlucky for me, finding the sign took another 10-15mins :-( If you are unfamiliar with the area, simply ask where the nearest stop is before you waste time driving/walking around. Go prepared with an umbrella, water & hat just in case you have to wait for the trolley. It runs every 15mins but on a hot day it can be unbearable. read more

I work in Rehoboth as a lifeguard during the summer but live in Dewey at a beach house with friends, so driving to work everyday early, especially during the summer months, is hard to do with limited parking. I just jump on the trolley and it takes me right to downtown Rehoboth, right at the boardwalk. It's a quick ride, and always on time so I never have to worry about getting to work on time. Been using it for years and never have had a problem! Also great for nights when I want to go hang with other guards in Rehoboth plus the rates aren't bad at all. $3 one way or $5 roundtrip means I can get to and from where I need to go cheaply and I don't need to worry about driving which is awesome! At night they even have more trolleys out to make sure everyone can be picked up, meaning less waiting times at stops. This review is about booking JT for my wedding: First, I have to say that on the day of my wedding, everything went smoothly and the drivers were absolutely wonderful. The only issue (which I had been warned about is that their booking system is incredibly confusing and cumbersome. Their staff and I had multiple phone calls just so I could make sure that all the reservations were correct, and they were very helpful. It was just such a headache to book using their system! I rented Jolly Trolley this past weekend to shuttle us for a bachelorette party and I could not have had a better experience. We used the shuttle both Friday night and Saturday night and had many changes with time leading up to our reservation (dealing with a group of 12+ girls is never easy to decide on timing). Joe, our driver, was AMAZING. So nice and friendly! Friday night when we went out in Dewey he texted us to make sure we didn't want to go anywhere else; he would have driven us. Friday night we also wanted to leave before our scheduled time and Joe came and picked us right up. Saturday night we went to OCMd and Joe had the same customer services and friendliness was shown to us. We had an amazing weekend and knowing we did not having to think about taxis/drunk buses etc. I would with out a doubt suggest Jolly Trolley to anyone vacationing in the area. My wife and I were recently married at All Saints Church on Olive St. and had the reception 5 blocks away at The Henlopen Hotel. While transportation wasn't necessary, we decided to hire the Jolly Trolley to carry the wedding party. It is an icon of the beach town and we thought it would be cool for pictures. Not only was the rate for an hour rental very reasonable, but the owner of the trolley could not have been any sweeter or more accommodating.
